Oh gosh guys, don’t start dissecting the cost per ml. It’s Christmas and it’s for FUN 🤩

Hear hear!!

I love today’s offering, it smells delicious.

TokyoSushi · 01/12/2021 21:21

So do I just get some out of the jar, melt it a bit in my hands, pop it on and wipe it off with warm water?

*Expect many questions like this from me! Grin

Massage it onto your dry face. Then you can add a bit of water and massage a bit more. Then wipe it off with a damp cloth.
Bumbl · 01/12/2021 21:52

I'd still like to know the price and what it's worth etc, it's part of the fun too for me.

user1471554720 · 01/12/2021 21:59

I buy the calendar as I like to try things and I would never get 25 samples of anything. Even when I go to good shops and buy eg lancome, they often don't have samples. I may get 5ml sample of a cleanser. It was worse again before I buy a product.

I often remember spending half an hour talking to the assistant in the hope of getting a sample. I would only ever get one or two.

It is easy for people to be scornful of advent calendars being full of samples, if they work in the beauty industry and regularly get goodie bags for free. From time to time I paid full price for a cream I couldn't use, allergic, as it is so hard to get a sample first.

I suspect some assistants are keeping samples for friends and paying customers can't get any.

AtSea1979 · 01/12/2021 22:00

I use Liz Earle so interested to try this one especially after all the great reviews on here!

TokyoSushi · 01/12/2021 22:03

Just tried it, really lovely, feels and smells quite spa like, fab!

FreshFaceTime · 01/12/2021 22:05
@FreshFaceTime interesting! What is the dupe called?
It's this: www.aldi.co.uk/lacura-cleansing-balm/p/709896460828000

Really glad I'll get to compare both products but first impressions are very much an Aldi/Lacura win.

FreshFaceTime · 01/12/2021 22:11
@FreshFaceTime I think it’s useful to offer opinions on comparisons with other products 👍
Glad you think it's useful. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's comparisons too...

HollyHocks13 · 01/12/2021 22:11

I just tried mine and I must say I absolutely love it! I'm a fan of cleansing balms anyway but I think this is one of my favourites. It smells lovely and is a good consistency, it felt very indulgent.
So far so good... I hope I'm as pleased with tomorrow's offering. Excited to open it now!

SummerWhy · 01/12/2021 23:04

The Emma Hardie is one of the products I bought the calendar for as I’m always in need of a cleansing balm! There’s full or generous sizes of 4/5 products I’ve already used and would rebuy so that makes it worth it for me. The rest are bonuses I’ll enjoy trying Smile

The M&S one usually has loads of full size things too - nail varnish, eyeliner, the only lipstick/gloss thing I've ever ever liked, etc etc (These were from a few years ago - I'm not spoilering!) It's definitely not all teeny little sample sizes.
10littlepirates · 01/12/2021 23:26
**@LifeInAHamsterWheel* - Ha! I've just put my glasses on and looked at it again to realise it's moringa not morning (doh!) so of course can be used anytime day or night*

I, and presumably everyone else over a certain age, also read it as morning Grin
I also read it as morning Blush and just blame the morning rush! So now I know it's not an specific I have tried the balm this evening. Smells gorgeous and I'll see what my combination skin is like in the morning. I was on the lookout for an new cleanser, I've been using the Clinique soap and I'm not sure it's doing my skin any favours at the moment. Bring on day 2!

Helpstopthepain · 01/12/2021 23:56

@FreshFaceTime thank you! I googled it and apparently the Aldi one is a winner! I think the ingredients are very similar!

AnnieSnap · 02/12/2021 00:25

Well, I’ve just tried the Emma Hardie cleansing balm and I really like it. I wasn’t very excited when I first saw the product, as I have plenty of Elemis cleansing balm, which is great. I really like the Emma Hardie, not more, but as much. It’s lighter than the Elemis, but still very nourishing and it left my skin feeling lovely. I would definitely consider buying it in the future. Lookfantastic is selling it at £28.20 for the 100g tub, so our 30g has a value of £8.40.

MrsWidgerysLodger · 02/12/2021 06:37

Not too sure about this morning's offering. Shower gel is always nice to get but this one smells like joss-sticks and unwashed hippies imo. It somehow has a medicinal tang to it too. I'll use it but certainly not a favourite.

RampantIvy · 02/12/2021 06:42

I quite like it. I have guests this weekend, so I will put it out for them to use as I prefer soap to bodywash or shower gel.

Talisin · 02/12/2021 06:43

Day two is the sort of thing I rarely use and ends up on the bathroom windowsill for months, if not years. Smells quite pleasant (to me anyway).

LizzieMacQueen · 02/12/2021 06:51

I opened box 2 late last night and thought it was ideal for my bedtime shower. I won't open the cleansing balm just now as I have Clinique's take the day off, so I'm assuming this is similar.

simpledeer · 02/12/2021 06:52

I love the smell. Maybe joss sticks and unwashed hippies is my thing Xmas Grin

Agree with Lizzie it will be perfect for bed time shower. Happy with this.

10littlepirates · 02/12/2021 06:56

Pleased with this - I love the smell, actually just waiting for one of the candles in this scent to arrive after smelling it in my friend's house. I'll probably save it for my travel bag for trips away.

latedecember1963 · 02/12/2021 07:16

I used to love Liz Earl hot cloth cleanser but haven't used it much in the last couple of years because it seems to have become drying on my already dry skin. The EH cleansing balm is much more soothing and I find rinses off easier.

I like herby scents so I'm happy with today's offering. The value is 96p so a cumulative total of £15.96 so far.
I'm really not bothered about the actual value and I'm certainly not worried about whether or not it all comes to £300. I enjoy being part of a thread that brightens up dark December mornings.

Luvacuppatea · 02/12/2021 07:45

I’m happy with today’s. Body wash always gets used up quickly here, though I really can’t detect much of a smell from mine

Luvacuppatea · 02/12/2021 07:47

Agree @latedecember1963, the thread (or threads for multiple calendar holders) on here is as much fun as the products themselves!
