Is available on Thursday in store and online apparently.

@10littlepirates I love the glow mask! I purchased the cleanser too because it worked so well on my skin. I might alternate with this.

Bavarois · 01/12/2021 12:42

I don't really get how sweeping down would lift and tone either. Is it just me or does the woman in the video remind anyone else of Catherine Tate? Kept waiting on the punchline.

CointreauVersial · 01/12/2021 13:40

Strong start, M&S, strong start.....

This is lovely stuff, and I've used it before - really gentle cleansing, and smells divine. I take it off with a wet flannel/bamboo cloth - you don't need a special one.

Annasgirl · 01/12/2021 13:44

Yes agree with you all - totally thrilled with the first present.

I had ordered the Look fantastic calendar too and only got this as a back up - well, Look Fantastic contacted me last week (after having my money in their account since October) to say they had no calendars left.

So glad now I have my M and S one.

CountryCob · 01/12/2021 14:25

Very happy too and looking to trying this. I have Space NK as well and prefer this. There were 2 skincare items in Space NK and they are from a good brand and well packaged but look like they might be a bit too potent

Switch82 · 01/12/2021 14:32

How could I use this? I’ve gone all medical grade on my routine - so use Alumier products now!! Maybe I could use it for eye make removal?

I had similar with LF last year, as did many others. I'd never buy from them again.
TokyoSushi · 01/12/2021 15:00

Agree this is a lovely start., going to try it tonight!

simpledeer · 01/12/2021 16:21

Love this product and happy to see it's a bigger size than usual. The smell is divine.

I have to work away fairly often (in normal times, remember them?) so usually keep these sizes for those trips but I might just use it up anyway or it will just add to my "special stash" which is really a hoard Xmas Blush

MrsWidgerysLodger · 01/12/2021 17:20

@SomethingAboutNothing

I'm not sure if this one will agree with my skin as I have quite an oily complexion but I'll give it a try, it smells nice and is a good size.

I have combo skin but find this fabut is my oily areas

latedecember1963 · 01/12/2021 17:28

A fabulous start. I still have one of the smaller pots that I keep at my caravan so I'll be able to top it up from this.
I think the value for today is £15. In previous years I've done daily values and a cumulative total. I'm happy to do that again if that would be of interest.
I enjoy the daily treat and being part of this thread which is a big part of the "value" for me.

Yes please. I'd like to see how much money I'm savingGrin
whitehorsesdonotlie · 01/12/2021 17:36

So chuffed with Day 1! The cleansing balm smells gorgeous. I love the tin and the presentation of all the boxes. Gorgeous!! Love M&S!!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/12/2021 17:37

Love this product. Dissolves make up and grime. Leaves my skin feeling great. No way I’d then wash off the effects with a cheap face wash. But each to their own.

Orcadianrythyms · 01/12/2021 17:38

That would be great @latedecember1963 - it's part of the fun knowing if something is a bargain.

AnnieSnap · 01/12/2021 17:56

@latedecember1963 yes please do a daily value. I did a rough estimate before I bought the calendar, but that would be a great addition to the thread.

FreshFaceTime · 01/12/2021 18:15

Oooooh I have a potentially rather controversial opinion... so I've just used the EH cleansing balm for the first time and... I prefer the Aldi dupe! Confused At first I thought the Aldi one smells nicer, so maybe I'm just used to the smells of cheaper products... but I didn't feel like it worked as well at removing my makeup either?! Meh... at least I'll save a few quid by not investing in the full sized one.

latedecember1963 · 01/12/2021 18:16

Ok, I'll do the daily values. 👍

Helpstopthepain · 01/12/2021 18:18

@FreshFaceTime interesting! What is the dupe called?

mynameiscalypso · 01/12/2021 18:20

So glad I found this thread! Pleased with today's offering; liked it this morning although the real test will be tonight to see how it copes with a face full of make up! Good size too; I have the L'Occitane calendar too (gift from my PILs) and today's item was tiny!

RampantIvy · 01/12/2021 18:24

As I work from home it takes me absolutely ages to get through a cleanser as I don't wear make up unless I go out, so I won't start this until I have finished my current cleanser. Is the texture similar to the Camomile cleansing butter from The Bodyshop (which is brilliant for removing make up)?

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 01/12/2021 18:34

I'd love a daily price post please @latedecember1963 so if I like something I know how much it is to buy and also intrigued as I want to know if it really is worth £300 like they claim.

Trying the balm tonight, hot bath, face cleanse then face mask and starting a Christmas book on my (waterproof) kindle. I find it really hard to allow myself time to relax so hopefully this advent calendar will help with that!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/12/2021 18:44

Ok, I’ll get this out of the way now so I don’t offend. I really don’t mean it to.

The value of this advent calendar is in a way what we paid for it. Actually less cost in a way to M&S. The brands will have jostled to be in the calendar, it’s fantastic promo for the brands. I don’t expect M&S pay much for the products because it’s all about advertising the brand.

Yes, I’m sure if you work out each gram of a full size product and divide it by our products you can get a rough estimate, but it’s not realistic as a true price.

In past years some products have been made especially for the calendar in packaging and sizes, so again less actual value because they are a promo item.

This doesn’t at all take away from the products which will be good.

I’ve been in the beauty industry for many many years and know how it works.

I don’t want to upset anyone. But that’s the truth. This calendar is fantastic as a calendar. It’s worth is what we paid for it as a calendar.

A full size product will be packaged accordingly and advertised which is where part of the cost comes from. I worked for most top beauty houses in my career and they all hand out samples like sweets. It’s all about advertising.

I think we all know that but as we're all unlikely to get handed a box of 25 samples, it's nice to see what it would cost to buy the equivalent vs what we paid for it.
DobbyTheHouseElk · 01/12/2021 18:49

Well if you think of it like that you’ve effectively bought something that’s free.
