I see Queen Sonja was also sporting a tiara. I think it's Queen Josephina's Diamond Tiara? I found an older photo of her wearing it, alongside some covetable diamond earrings.

Oh that Queen Josephine tiara is just lovely! I thought I knew all the Scandi tiaras but that"s a new one on me.

Queen Sonja looks lovely there. It's also nice to see MM looking well and happy.
I rather like the amethyst parure - the settings are very fine, almost invisible in fact, so that the amethysts float.

Queen Sonja looks lovely there, such a beautiful tiara, and it sounds a bit daft but it suits her! She has beautiful bone structure that the tiara seems to accentuate.

Apparently King Harald ( when Crown Prince ) told his father that if he wasn't allowed marry Sonia ( a "commoner" ) he wouldn't marry anyone and thus the family would lose its line of succession.
King Olav relented.

I hope they were and are happy together.

There's a fabulous story on the mail online about an old lady who's enjoyed car boot sales over the years, taking a bag a gems into a jeweller after a neighbour suggested instead of throwing them out, it might be worth having a jeweller look in case there was anything of value in among the junk.

In amongst the car boot junk jewellery was a diamond, bigger than a pound coin, 34.something carats which has been valued at at least two million quid! The lady had no idea and the jeweller said he thought it was cubic zirconia and that the hairs stood up on the back of the neck as he realised what it was. Such an amazing story! My dream is to find a faberge egg in a charity shop so who knows, maybe one day

I'm liking the idea of Scandi tiaras.

They wouldn't have sensible names like Queen Mary's Fringe Tiara or The Spencer Tiara, instead they be called by names that only gave the slightest hint that they were tiaras, such as Glänsande Huvudvärk or Går I Bitar Hjälm. They would be made of brushed steel and polished horn, and come with a set of screwdrivers and instructions for fitting them together.

No, I think that might be the former Belgian king and queen you're thinking of @paradyning. As far as I know there's never been a whiff of scandal about Harald and Sonja.

Fergie's launched a book club! She is as bonkers as ever but the green velvet suits her colouring and her hair looks great.

Can you imagine finding a diamond that size in your junk? I have a small collection of antique brooches, I know they are only paste, but I live in hope I am wrong. One of them was my “something old” on my wedding day, along with a ring, and I did also have a tiara 😂
