I do like CP Mary in her smart casual mode, such as she was wearing in Burkina Faso, but agree she’s heading down the Rania route.

I think Camilla would look amazing in Queen Mary’s amethyst Parker, which the Queen Mother sold for some reason after her death (sob). It was gorgeous, and surprisingly modern - Anna Wintour turned up in the necklace from the parure a few years ago, showing how it may have looked. I am sad about this loss.

Very much not the style the QM wore and not very QE2 either but it is gorgeous and would look stunning on Camilla. It would probably have worked for Princess Margaret too.

I'm also not a fan of Char's modern tiaras at all, I'm afraid.

I do like the ocean tiara. Margaret never seemed to borrow tiaras from her sister.

Wouldn't it be lovely if they did an exhibition of all the royal jewellery. I wonder how much there really is

  1. First up we have the Ogilvy Tiara.
    This floral bandeau can be made into a larger tiara. It was made for Princess Alexandra of Kent.

  2. The Brazilian Aquamarine Parure Tiara.
    This tiara comes as part of a set gifted to Queen Elizabeth II for her coronation in 1953 by the President of Brazil. It is made up of emerald-cut aquamarines and diamonds.

  3. the Oriental Circlet
    Prince Albert had this piece made for his wife, Queen Victoria, in 1853. It is made up of 'Moghul arches and lotus flowers' in diamonds and rubies.

I love aquamarines but don't like that Brazilian tiara. It's just a bit too blingy. I prefer something more subtle like a Meander.

Admittedly there's few who look better in a tiara than CPV and Madeleine.
