I think we have at least one tiara each, according to my spreadsheet. Some have parures. Any newbies welcome, log your choices.

She does - but then I think she looks fab in everything. She’s definitely my girl crush Grin

Maireas · 01/11/2021 08:11

Agreed. We love Max on here, you've found your tribe Grin

Oh I’ve been lurking on these threads for several years and post probably annually under a different name each time Grin.

JeremiahObadiahJackanoryJonez · 01/11/2021 08:16

Definitely feel like part of this tribe. It’s such a good mix of nonsense chat, beautiful frocks/jewels and fascinating history. I love it here even if I don’t add anything.

Although I did suggest a few threads back that I thought Sophie could be more Max - I think Sophie has the same genuine warmth in her face that can light up a room and a figure that can carry much braver choices.

Bearsbearsbears40 · 01/11/2021 08:17

You’ve all just reminded me to book tickets for the KP exhibition when I am down there next month… 👸

StCharlotte · 01/11/2021 08:27

There were only three tiaras in the exhibition - they were the whole exhibition - and one of them (the Fife I think) was out being used for a wedding. Would love to see a picture of that bride!

Also the Royal Style in the Making only featured five frocks, albeit one of them is that wedding dress.

We were a bit disappointed probably because we'd been spoiled by the Dior exhibition a couple of years ago.

But KP itself is worth a visit of course and I learnt more about royal toiletting than I needed to know Grin The guides there are brilliant.

Maireas · 01/11/2021 08:30

That's a really great point, Jeremiah, that Sophie could be like Max - I know exactly what you mean!

@Maireas

Morning, *@JeremiahObadiahJackanoryJonez* Dutch Sapphire tiara ✔️ Doesn't Max look fabulous in it?!
I remember gasping when she appeared at the inauguration wearing that in its full glory. We had a Dutch B&B guest that day and I was more excited than she was - when she left she gave me this (with biscuits!). I keep tea lights in it Smile

I'm totally up for a heist, but do work 3 days a week and need to fit a daily school run, weekly foodshop and a parental visit in, so if that can be taken into account during planning, that would be most helpful.
I don1

Eaumyword · 01/11/2021 09:04

And hello @JeremiahObadiahJackanoryJonez!Smile

Bearsbearsbears40 · 01/11/2021 09:24

Oh good to know @StCharlotte - still happy to book as I’ve never been to KP but I’ll manage my expectations now!

Maireas · 01/11/2021 09:45

@Eaumyword - that's fine, I think if we plan the heist around my yr11 exams and yr12 marking, that would be good. Also, Ofsted is imminent, so better get that out of the way first.

Happy Monday, tiara tribe.
Tiara of the month, as per our friends in Tattler is the gorgeous Fleur de Lys 😍
(mine, mine, mine)
I do love Leti wearing it - shows that big tiara hair isn’t needed :)

Someone borrowed the Fife without my permission? Angry

I'm totally up for the heist, but would obviously want to wait until the Fife was back on display. Wink

I agree that Royal Style in the Making was a tiny bit underwhelming, though I still had a great day out and enjoyed the exhibition on Queen Victoria's childhood very much. And seeing Diana's dress in the flesh, so to speak, felt like quite a moment, after seeing the millions of photos of it.

Off to look at the Tiara of the Month; thanks for posting.

TheHuntingoftheSnark · 01/11/2021 13:07

I'm usually a lurker, but I've delurked especially to claim the Strathmore Rose Tiara please. I know not many people like it so hopefully its still available:

@Eaumyword re your heist 😂
You and your partner in crime Maireas.

Yiz are on yer own, though.
I'm out !

Eaumyword · 01/11/2021 14:37

Shock I kind of thought it would be a group heist but @Maireas I'm in if you are. We both work in schools so quite frankly, I think we're well equipped to plan and pull off anything. Ooh @MotherofPearl is in too, excellent 👍
Although perhaps the first rookie error is telling everyone what we're going to do...
Also, I'm carrying lockdown lbs, so couldn't run fast or be lowered on a climbing rope like on Mission Impossible. I don't like heights and am claustrophobic....Confused
@StCharlotte what did you learn about royal toiletting, I'm super curious? Is it you know, checking the err, stools and helping to err,' clean up afterwards?

Maireas · 01/11/2021 15:09

Well, if I can be in charge of KS4, I can pull off a jewel heist, and I suspect @Eaumyword and others are similarly well qualified.
@Tinitiny - thank you for that link. That's a gorgeous tiara. Leti is so petite but carries that off well.

@TheHuntingoftheSnark - Strathmore Rose belongs to Chesterelly... another one, or a share?

Kate is at COP26 in her usual principal boy costume topped by a gilet. Apparently there will be a diplomatic reception one evening so fingers crossed for glamour!

That's her Scouting outfit, isn't it?

OP posts:
KillingMeDeftly · 01/11/2021 16:31

Yes, they were visiting a scout troop in Glasgow. But the black polo neck and skinnies always makes me think of panto!

frugalkitty · 01/11/2021 16:35

I was about to offer to be the getaway driver for our heist, but then I remembered that I don't like driving in London so maybe I can bring snacks?
