Winter is coming... so I thought it was about time we had a thread to share our winter jumper finds.

Picked up this gem in Asda today for £22.

@Sooverthemill I knit too which is why I was more surprised, the whole back is garter stitch in a very chunky wool so would knit up quickly. That said, I completely underestimate the time I take making things as it just something I do in the evenings and I don’t measure it properly! I do appreciate and applaud that they are paying people a fair wage.

@ToykotoLosAngeles

I live in a centrally heated house, and work in a heated office, I don't need big thick woolly jumpers.

This is how I feel every winter. I never really know what people are doing on an everyday basis that requires a massive duvet coat plus thick jumper plus thermal leggings and a hat. As soon as I get walking I'm boiled. And I'm from the Pennines! Even when I used to commute by train they had the heating on.

Lucky you. I'm clod a lot of the time. I walk outside and am cold. I go inside and if it's not my place, someone else chooses the temperature. If I go to a cafe or shop the door is open and there's a draft. At home, I can put my heating on high, but I can't programme it in advance so it's cold when I come in or get up and some rooms don't have a radiator. I'm looking at a few of these and thinking they're not warm enough!

" I’ve had old ladies stop me and ask me if I’m cold though 🤣 nope I have a vest top and long sleeve under this and I am toasty as can be!"

You make me feel cold just thinking about it. Also, jumpers don't protect from the wind.

Wool doesn't have to mean thick though. Merino wool is fairly lightweight and can keep you warmer and cooler than acrylic.

Massively allergic to merino, cashmere, lambswool, angora, mohair and stiff rough cotton jumpers. And silk makes me too hot. I've been like this since I was a little girl 😂
