What colour of tights and ankle boots with navy dress?

I’ve been wearing navy tights and navy ankle boots but it’s far too much blue. What’s the alternatives?

But never black and navy blue!

Coloured tights. Fuschia, mustard...

I'd wear grey tights and grey/pewter footwear.

I wear a lot of Navy and don't ever where black or brown. I like wine coloured tights and boots with navy. Or teal with navy boots.

Would these sort of boots work with navy (or other coloured) tights? I tend to wear navy knee length shirt dresses, that sort of thing - more H&M/White Stuff/Boden type casual dresses. Definitely not at the high fashion end.

I don’t mean these exact boots, just wondering about the colour and style

I wear grey tights with navy skirts and dresses, and black boots.

I never wear brown boots or shoes. As a winter brown just doesn't figure in my colour scheme at all.

Tbh it depends on the dress. I have some navy dresses that work with black tights & boot and other that don't. Trial and error imo I'm afraid!

Yes I think that style boot would look lovely.

I agree with other posters that burgundy, mustard or teal tights would look great. I would think especially so with boots like this.

@drizzleabit if only! Fancy tights and an A-line dress hide the fact that with every passing hour as I get nearer to fifty my middle gets bigger so my legs look smaller. I'm not an apple, I'm a bloody cantaloupe.

@SirChenjins I like those Rocketdog boots too and I agree with PP about the colourful tights, but with a navy shirt dress I'd also try white leather Converse (with whatever coloured tights you like), although it depends on the setting

I would also wear tan boots and I have a pair of matt gold which look great with loads of stuff, particularly navy.

Thanks for the inspiration op - I normally stick with skin coloured but like grey idea. This is from Pinterest but looks good. Think would also work with longer dress and shorter boots

Navy and black can look very chic. Agreed the rule not to wear them is v old fashioned.

Personally think that teal/mustard/burgundy tights look very "desigual"

Navy and black together is one of my favourite colour combinations! It's really chic. That rule went out with the ark.

I have some mustard colored tights I team with a navy dress.

I've embraced a lot of brighter colours recently though.
