Is this too white for a wedding?

I hope the image attaches. Is this too white for a wedding? I'm thinking it could be paired with navy shoes and a fascinator.

I think the lace, albeit blue in the white one does make it quite bridal. I mean, I wouldn't give two hoots as the bride myself, but it is the kind of thing I can see me an older bride wearing for an informal wedding.

WasThisSexist · 25/07/2021 19:16

second one is much nicer!

Lindy2 · 25/07/2021 19:19

I like them both but prefer the blue and white.

I think it would be lovely for a summer wedding. I've always believed the don't wear white rule is so you don't get mistaken for the bride. The dress doesn't look anything like a wedding dress and has a reasonable amount of blue on it. Accessories with blue shoes and a blue wrap or jacket it would be perfect.

PineapplePatsy · 25/07/2021 19:23

Yes too white. Second one is much better.

Why risk offending anyone?

bethabean · 25/07/2021 19:25

I have a wedding to go to in two weeks..where is the first dress from please?! I think it's lovely

diddl · 25/07/2021 19:28

@AbsolutelySure

If there is a mixed opinion on MN then it's likely there'll be a mixed opinion at the wedding. I think it's fine but perhaps you should find an alternative outfit.
Nah-MN isn't representative at all I don't think!
TolkiensFallow · 25/07/2021 19:33

I think it’s completely fine. I prefer the second but the whiter one looks nothing like a wedding dress.

Ilikeknitting · 25/07/2021 19:51

The first dress is a really pretty blue and white dress. Nobody should be offended at that, it’s certainly not obviously bridal.

Maddison12 · 25/07/2021 19:53

OP said in her last update that she bought the pink one, so anything after that is immaterial really...

Imissmoominmama · 25/07/2021 19:59

Where was the first one from @sssigh?

honeybuns007 · 25/07/2021 20:17

Ffs. It's totally fine. The reason fir not wearing white is so you don't upstage or compete with the bride. That dress is not in the slightest like a wedding dress. Some people.

Mmmmdanone · 25/07/2021 20:19

I think it's lovely. I wouldn't be in the slightest bit put out if i was the bride. Not like a wedding dress at all.

Agree. People are crazy. I wore a short white and silver dress for my niece's wedding. Never occurred to me not to.
ncnoclue · 25/07/2021 20:27

Depends on the bride!

WaitinginVain · 25/07/2021 20:40

The pink dress is lovely but, if you find it's not for you, I'd definitely go back to the original dress - it's gorgeous and absolutely not too white.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 25/07/2021 20:47

I think it's weird this obsession with anything with white, it's not like you would be wearing a veil and carrying flowers , it's a perfectly pretty dress and not at all bridal. I love it and think it's perfect for a wedding.

Purplecatshopaholic · 25/07/2021 21:34

No. Ffs, it’s fine. HTH

chairchoo · 25/07/2021 21:47

They were both from ChiChi London Smile

DramaAlpaca · 25/07/2021 22:15

They're both fine for a wedding.

stripedbananas · 25/07/2021 22:30

No white at all should be worn so although it's a lovely dress you might get some funny looks

12Step12 · 25/07/2021 22:31

No, I think it's lovely for a wedding

stripedbananas · 25/07/2021 22:31

The pink one is gorgeous

Honeyroar · 25/07/2021 22:37

I know you’ve bought the pink one, but I love the blue and white one.

bethabean · 25/07/2021 22:44

Thank you!! @chairchoo

Hmm You would have to be exceptionally precious to have a problem with a guest attending your wedding in that dress.
