Is this too white for a wedding?

I hope the image attaches. Is this too white for a wedding? I'm thinking it could be paired with navy shoes and a fascinator.

That second dress is amazing go for that!

Amdone123 · 25/07/2021 17:13

I was going to say the first is fine for a wedding, but the second one is stunning.

HalloHello · 25/07/2021 17:14

Wouldn't even cross my mind as a bride! It hardly looks like a wedding dress so I say it's fine!!

DoolallyLully · 25/07/2021 17:14

Second one is much better! Avoid white at all costs to be safe, I say.

whatswithtodaytoday · 25/07/2021 17:16

Eh? That is absolutely a wedding guest dress!

MyAnacondaMight · 25/07/2021 17:17

The pink dress is fabulous.

Echobelly · 25/07/2021 17:17

I'd say it's absolutely fine - no one could possibly mistake it for a bride's or bridesmaid dres; but maybe depends on how well you know the bride. If you know she's chilled out then fine, if you don't know her or know she might be a bit sensitive then maybe not if you think there's the slightest risk.

Honestly IMO, any bride or person who would get offended by that deserves to be offended for being an eejit!

DancesWithTortoises · 25/07/2021 17:18

Of course not.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 25/07/2021 17:18

Eh? That is absolutely a wedding guest dress!

Of course it is unless you're a mumsnetter!

RevolvingPivot · 25/07/2021 17:19

No. It has blue in it.

Ghosttile · 25/07/2021 17:19

The one you’ve just found is the nicest!

Dumbledoresgirl · 25/07/2021 17:24

I much prefer the original white and blue dress to the pink one. I think the pink one looks too partyish. The white and blue one is a lovely dress for a daytime event like a wedding. I don't understand the concept of too white. It isn't a wedding gown, that is obvious, so I can't see how it is inappropriate for a wedding.

sssigh · 25/07/2021 17:24

Thank you all, that's the pink dress purchased and on its way. I managed to get a cheeky 10% off by signing up for the newsletter too!

It's really not too white - it's a pretty dress but doesn't look at all bridal.

Yup!
Letthelightoflove · 25/07/2021 17:34

The pink dress is gorgeous. Have a fabulous time.

Pingued · 25/07/2021 17:36

Pink one is lovley. The first one looks like she isn't wearing a long enough petticoat under it or something

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 25/07/2021 17:38

If you have blue, pink or orange accessories, then definitely wear it. If you were planning white, silver or gold accessories, then maybe have a wee rethink. Don't wear white to a wedding means no solid white/cream or long white/cream (in my circles, anyway). It definitely doesn't mean no white-backed patterned florals or none of us would have anything to wear to weddings, ever 😂

Donationwitheverypack · 25/07/2021 17:40

With these threads I always think if you've had to ask...Personally I doubt I'd even register it was white, but there will be those who do and you'll be wondering if you're being judged on the day, so wear something else.

Depechemodebiggestfan · 25/07/2021 17:44

The first one is perfect. No white at all. It has blue in it. Nobody will mix you with the bride. I used to work at weddings and this is nothing but fine.

Janaih · 25/07/2021 17:44

With navy accessories definitely ok. You will look like a wetherspoons plate though.
(I like the dress BTW, dd works in spoons and blue and white items of clothing are a thing on their Facebook page)

Disfordarkchocolate · 25/07/2021 17:46

No, it's rather lovely.

ahoyshipmates · 25/07/2021 17:48

I was about to say if you need to ask then yes, but then I saw the dress and it is gorgeous.

Kollamoolitumarellipawkyrollo · 25/07/2021 17:48

The first is fine and so is the second.
