I hope the image attaches. Is this too white for a wedding? I'm thinking it could be paired with navy shoes and a fascinator.

First one is like a patterned plate as previous poster said 🙈Second one looks like a bridesmaid dress to me 🤦‍♀️

LazyDaisy22 · 25/07/2021 17:50

Both dresses are lovely but I think I prefer the blue and white. I think it would be just right for a summer wedding and not at all inappropriate

HoliHormonalTigerlilly · 25/07/2021 17:51

Love the pink one!

SunSeaSurfGin · 25/07/2021 17:52

It's a lovely dress for a wedding IMO

user1493494961 · 25/07/2021 17:53

It's fine for a summer wedding.

MadisonAvenue · 25/07/2021 17:56

The first one is fine!

Adviceneeded21 · 25/07/2021 17:58

I prefer the 1st one, the blue and white is lovely

OldTinHat · 25/07/2021 18:01

No, its lovely. Good idea about navy accessories.

slightlysnippy · 25/07/2021 18:03

Lovely dress, with blue accessories will be perfect for a summer wedding.

MaMelon · 25/07/2021 18:03

Either is absolutely fine for a wedding Smile Everyone will be looking at the bridal party and catching up with friends and family - if anyone isn’t doing that and is instead looking at guests dresses and passing judgment on whether there’s too much white in it then they don’t deserve to be at what is a lovely, happy, important occasion.

ChequerBoard · 25/07/2021 18:04

This is mad.

It's not a white dress - it's a patterned dress with a white background. You are not going to be mistaken for the bride in that dress.

Honestly, it someone has a problem with this, they are looking for a reason to be offended.

I think some mumsnetters say it's too white for the sake of it! It's a competition to be the first to complain 🙄
sylbunny · 25/07/2021 18:06

I had a blue and white wedding dress and I STILL think this is ok to wear as a guest! It's nice!

Zilla1 · 25/07/2021 18:07

Both are fine and the first would work with a blue short shawl if you are concerned but really want to wear it. My understanding is around how close is the similarity to a wedding dress and IMO, the first wouldn't be close to a wedding dress that it could like like a 'should have married me' statement.

Hope you enjoy the wedding (or succeed in running away with the groom or bride if those are your plans).

TiredMummyZZZ · 25/07/2021 18:08

I think if you have to ask it’s a no! I do think it’s too white, I’d be too embarrassed to wear a white based dress to a wedding, I’d be conscious of people thinking I was wearing it for attention!

inappropriateraspberry · 25/07/2021 18:10

Does it look like a wedding dress? No. Perfectly fine to wear.

tentotwelve · 25/07/2021 18:14

People probably ask on MN because they've seen these threads beforeSmile.

I can't imagine non-mumsnetters objecting to a wedding guest wearing a patterned dress with a white background

maddiemookins16mum · 25/07/2021 18:20

Both are lovely, especially the first.

Meredusoleil · 25/07/2021 18:25

Both lovely. But the second one is really gorgeous imho!

Coffeemakesmehappy · 25/07/2021 18:39

First dress would have been fine, but I think you’ve done the right thing buying the second one - because it’s absolutely gorgeous!

NashvilleQueen · 25/07/2021 18:47

In the unlikely event I ever get married I undertake to write the following in the invitations:

'If you want to wear a white dress to my wedding then honestly please feel free. Given that I'm inviting there's a good chance I either love you or at least really like you. So I'll just be absolutely delighted to see you. I won't think you're trying to upstage me or take away the attention. Don't check on Mumsnet first because this is an area that seems to bring out the maddest opinions. Finding an outfit is stressful enough. If you like it then buy it and bloody wear it.'

OP it's a lovely dress.

AnnaSW1 · 25/07/2021 18:48

Yes. It's essentially a white dress

Hear hear 👏👏👏
bebarkered · 25/07/2021 19:03

No, it's not too white OP. But, go for the pink floral dress as it's gorgeous!

BungleandGeorge · 25/07/2021 19:08

There’s a lot of blue on the white one, I think it’s absolutely fine. The pink one does look like a bridesmaid dress. If the bride has gone for pink bridesmaids it could be awkward
