Aveeno Moisturising Cream about £4.99 from Boots I think

Packaging - 8/10 not too exciting but fairly attractive
Scent - 10/10 inoffensive and pretty unscented
Rub in ability - 10/10 rubs in really easily
Moisturisingness - 18/20 really moisturising

Brilliant for sensitive skin as it is made from colloidal oatmeal which is really gentle, there is an extra moisturising version too.

Highly recommended

46/50

Can we do liquid eyeliner in preparation for the party season next please ?

I use

Tesco Aloe Vera Body Lotion.
£1.47 for 500ml

Packaging - 2/10 (Very plain, reasonably ugly squeezy green bottle)

Scent - 8/10 (Smells clean and fresh but not overpowering)

Rub in - 9/10 (Easy to rub in and sinks in quickly)

Moisturisingness - 17/20 (great but not sure about really, really dry skin)

It's brillaint value so you can really slater it on.

NomDePlume · 24/11/2007 13:41

Good on my sensitive skin too. If I put anything else on my legs immediately post shaving my legs go all dotty.

scattyspice · 24/11/2007 19:46

Dove body cream (white tub) £6.

Packaging 6/10 (tubs meah you can get it all out)
Scent 8/10 (minimal = good)
Rub in ness 10/10 (not greasy)
moisturising 19/20 (I'd say)

=43

And it lasts for ages.

Cowshed Cheeky Cow Nourishing Body Cream
£16 (£5.30 per 100ml)

packaging - 6/10 looks trendy in yer bathroom but I prefer a pump
scent 1/10 all grapefruit no lavender
rubin abililty 3/10
moisturingness 7/20

17/50 unimpressed (glad I didn't pay for it, a v well meaning present from a friend, now passed on to a grapefruit lover)

Doublebase - about £10-£11 per 500g (£2 per 100 ml)
Packaging 4/10 - it's a prescription thing, though you can buy it, so not glam, but it's a clear pump dispenser and the texture of the gel looks quite funky.
Scent 8/10 - no scent, but not medical either
Rub-in-ability - 9/10 - really quick, not greasy
Moisturisingness - 20/20 - it's amazing. Got it originally for horribly itchy rash on stretchmarks when pregnant and it transformed my nights pretty much instantly - beats E45 hands down.

41/50, and would be a near perfect score if it came in a funky package.

Clarins Energizing Hydra-Wear Express Body Lotion
£25.00 for 200ml

Packaging - 8/10 (Classic plain Clarins style, only thing letting it down is the squeezy lid)
Scent - 9/10 (Light, clean & fresh)
Rub in - 10/10 (Soaks in quickly and feels silky on skin)
Moisturisingness - 13/20 (lovely but texture a bit thin to have make any real difference)

Overall - 40/50 icod - I think we need to add value for money on as a category too.

hatingtoberight · 25/11/2007 20:19

Tesco b natural
Intensive Body Cream
£2.99 ( I think) for 150ml
Selling point...NO mineral oil or parabens plus organic Aloe Vera

Packaging 8/10 - nice green and cream pump
Scent 7/10 - smells lovely and also worthy!
Rub-in ability - 8/10 - quite thick and heavy but definitely worth it
Moisturisingness - 18/20 - really good - can feel it the next day too

hatingtoberight · 25/11/2007 20:20

oops ... = 41/50

LydiaTheTattooedLapin · 25/11/2007 20:20

Coddy, how is the scoring working on this? I mean, if I review my Kiehl's stuff and give it all 10s, will it automatically win even if no-one else votes for it?

Scent - 10
Rub In - 10
Moisturising- - 10

LydiaTheTattooedLapin · 26/11/2007 09:05

No - it's good, but not THAT good - I just wondering how the scoring worked. Will review after toddlers

ChristmasShinySnowflakes · 26/11/2007 09:07

PS- All scores out of 10- so 20/20 for moisturising if you decide to go that way LOL

E45 500ml pump bottle, c £5

packaging 8/10 (v plain but I like that)
scent 7/10 (none to speak of but I don't mind that)
rub-in-ability 8/10
moisturingness 18/20

total 41/50

have to remove pump (v messy) and shake bottle to get last few globs out though so deduct a couple of points for that: 39/50

kittylouise · 26/11/2007 15:55

El cheapo: Marks and Spencers Cocoa Butter Body Butter (a Body Shop body butter copy, but cheaper). £4 a tub

packaging 6/10 Wagon Wheel sized circular tub. Plain but practical.
scent 8/10 lovely cocoa buttery smell
rub-in-ability 6/10 - very thick cream so a bit of an effort
moisturingness 20/20

Total: 40/50

Glamour puss cream for special occasions: Guerlain Shalimar Body Lotion, £15 per bottle

packaging 9/10 Dark blue, gold bits, very swish
scent 10/10 (smells of Shalimar, my favourite perfume, and scent lingers for hours)
rub-in-ability 9/10 - incredibly easy to rub in, very thin lotion, easily absorbed. leaves a slight sheen on skin
moisturingness 9/20 - not really - silky smoothness for an evening, no real deep moisturising properties.

37/50

cremolafoam · 26/11/2007 16:36
