should we take into consideration the fact that some of us are boycotting certain brands? (ie body shop)

TigerFeet · 22/11/2007 11:49

OK new score for marvellous Cetraben

Moisturisingness 19/20 (1 mark off as my calves are dry again after a few hours)

So grand total for lovely Cetraben = 33/50

A bit poor but I can live with that. I love my lovely cetraben it is the only thing that stops my legs getting so dry that they constantly itch.

Marc Jacobs perfume body lotion 38/50

packaging 2/10 bottle looks lovely but crap pump dispenser and deceptively large bottle for small amount.
scent 10/10 lasts really well and smell delicious
rubinability 10/10 goes in really nicely and has v gently glowing glitter in it so you look radiant when wearing
moisturising-ness 16/20 - does a good job of where I apply it but don't use everywhere - only arms and decolletage
It's too pricy to use on thighs!

LOL at grumpyhorsewoman

LaCerbiatta · 22/11/2007 13:33

Why is there a body shop boycott going on???

bagpuss · 22/11/2007 14:10

Neal's Yard Frankincense Toning Body Cream

packaging 8/10 (comes in large round glass jar)
scent 7/10 strong frankincense smell but quite pleasant
rub-in-ability 8/10
moisturisingness 18/20 Keeps my really dry legs nice and smooth

redpanda · 22/11/2007 16:30

Clarins Moisture-Rich Body Lotion.
I love getting it as a pressie!

packaging 8/10 - classic style (perhaps a bit old-fashioned?)
scent - 8/10 - pleasant
rubinability 9/10 - very good (one of the reasons I prefer it to Liz Earle - my 2nd fave). Easily absorbed without being too light enough to be any good as a moisturiser
moisturisingness 17/20 - does a good job if I actually remember to use it regularly!

TBH - would probably get marked down if value for money was a category because it's on the expensive side. Lasts me quite a while however (probably due to the aforementioned forgetfulness in application!)

Dropdeadfred · 22/11/2007 16:36

Decleor -packaging 8/10 - Looks good on the bedrrom shelf. Clean and pleasant design with pump.
scent - 7/10 - Fresh smelling but not longlasting (although thats often good)
rubinability 9/10 - a slight tackines at first if you apply too much but son sinks in
moisturisingness 16/20 - works perfectly well on skin that isn't too dry to start with iykwim. But wouldn't handle any real scaley dry patches

= 40/50

Jason Organic Glycerine and Rosemary hand & Body Lotion

packaging 8/10 is an upsidedown tube so easy squirtable, but would prefer a pump

Scent 10/10 not overly smelly, very subtle

rub in-ability - 10/10 goes in very easily making skin instantly softer

moisturising 10/10 makes skin feel velvety and smooth

also think price has a lot to do with things cod - this stuff is £6.99 for 237ml

Vaseline intensive care for me too

packaging 2/10 - they have recently re-designed the bottle and it is not an improvement at all!
scent 8/10 - very inoffensive (don't like strong smelling stuff me)
rub- in- ability 10/10 - superb
moisturising- ness 10/10 - I have dry skin and this is the biz

I have tried all manner of posh lotions and they are all crap compared to this I tell you

scent 6/10 - unscented, so not offensive, slightly medicinal
rub- in- ability 6/10 - takes a while..
moisturising- ness 20/20 - works like a charm

40/50

Sanctuary Spa Covent Garden
Sento Invigorating Body Cream

packaging 8.5/10 - luxurious looking white frosted (plastic) jar with Japanese Styling
scent 9/10 - It smells of Spa treatments with notes of citrus oil.
rub- in- ability 10/10 It glides in
moisturising- ness 17/20 - No residue, silky smooth skin

TellusMater · 22/11/2007 17:43

cream at £1.98 per 100ml - this is what I use.

For less scaly people:

lotion at £1.09 per 100ml

PoinsettiaBouquets · 22/11/2007 18:47

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula £1.26 per100ml

packaging 8/10 (less old mannish than E45)
scent 10/10 (Chocolicious)
rub- in- ability 9/10 (Fine, goes a long way)
moisturising- ness 8/10 (good all-rounder but does nothing for eczema)

PoinsettiaBouquets · 22/11/2007 18:48

Sorry, mousurising 17/20
so 44/50 for Palmers

foxinsocks · 22/11/2007 18:50

you can do the scoring for me (can't be arsed ) but the best one is that Vaseline Intensive Care stuff, the one in the yellow bottle.

For extremely dry skin, Eumobase is also very good and sometimes I use Eucerin if the skin on my face is very dry.

Tutter · 22/11/2007 18:51

i think you should add weighting

moisturising-ness very much more important than packaging, no?

(e..g i rate palmers cocoa butter more highly than many with beautiful bottles)
