Does anyone fancy helping me buy something nice to wear?

Because honestly after a year in pyjamas I have no idea where to start even looking..

My husband's business partner is having a garden party at midsummer. I am in the mood to spend some money after the shitstorm of the past twelve months and would like a fantastic outfit for said party. Probably a dress - I actually dream of wearing the Fleabag jumpsuit but my tits say a resounding NO.

Them: Early 40s crowd, creative, all pretty cool.

Me: as above, size 12, 5'8, irritatingly big boobs, great legs.

Thinking maybe a shortish dress with ankle boots?

Ooh I like the sound of your style.
I have to rush off now but I'll join in later - placemarking!

Some nice dresses at Joy www.joythestore.com/womenswear/dresses?map=category-1,category-2,category-3,category-3&page=2&query=/womenswear/dresses/midi-dresses/mini-dresses&searchState
The Eren sundaisy dress is gorgeous, but Cathleen comes in various prints and is a mini if you want to show your legs - or the Corina is a midi with long slits for more of a flash of leg. All would allow you to wear a 'proper' bra!

Hmm the Joy stuff not really my style - I like a lot of Anthropologie but think that would look more like maternity wear on me (have I mentioned my tits yet?)

I've bought these two dresses recently and think they're v flattering. I'm the same size as you, god legs, massive boobs.

Twinkie01 · 21/05/2021 12:05

They both come right in under boobs in a flattering way so can see tiny waist.

ZooeyS · 21/05/2021 12:26

If either of them could give me a tiny waist I'd be bloody astonished Grin

I wonder how this would look with your boobs? Good for your legs though

What is your budget please?

honeybuns007 · 21/05/2021 12:32

Or this?

Ooooh I do quite like that @honeybuns007

@tortoiseshed ideally sub £200ish but if I find something that makes me feel amazing, I don't mind spending more. I've barely bought anything for over a year!

What about this Jigsaw dress?

ZooeyS · 21/05/2021 12:43

@hollowtalk I think that would look quite shapeless on me

Do you like cleavage on show? For example a mini wrap dress if you've got good legs?

What colours suit you, and prints?

GalaxyGirl24 · 21/05/2021 12:46

Only reason I ask re cleavage is that my mum has a lovely hourglass shape but huge boobs and a lot of stuff swamps her if she doesn't show some cleavage. She can't do chest frills or blousey things really

ZooeyS · 21/05/2021 12:49

I'd rather not with the cleavage. I've got a warm skintone, very dark eyes, dark brown hair - I wear a lot of black but greens and yellows look nice on me. Chest frills a definite no!

Do you prefer sleeves or no sleeves? Buttons on the front or not? High neck or lower?

ZooeyS · 21/05/2021 12:54

I like long sleeves with a short dress. No buttons, I don't need any more attention drawing my chest! High neck looks good on me.

HollowTalk · 21/05/2021 12:59

Don't you find that makes you look top heavy? Sometimes it can look as though it's all dress on the top half and nothing on the bottom!

HollowTalk · 21/05/2021 13:03

Sorry, don't mean to sound rude there. I'm sure you know what suits you!

ZooeyS · 21/05/2021 13:04

Hahaha no offence taken!

This Reiss one is worth a look.

ZooeyS · 21/05/2021 13:07

I like that one @nowlook

This?

Short sleeves, though.
