Does anyone fancy helping me buy something nice to wear?

Because honestly after a year in pyjamas I have no idea where to start even looking..

My husband's business partner is having a garden party at midsummer. I am in the mood to spend some money after the shitstorm of the past twelve months and would like a fantastic outfit for said party. Probably a dress - I actually dream of wearing the Fleabag jumpsuit but my tits say a resounding NO.

Them: Early 40s crowd, creative, all pretty cool.

Me: as above, size 12, 5'8, irritatingly big boobs, great legs.

Thinking maybe a shortish dress with ankle boots?

I do like the silhouette of the Reiss and the Three Graces linked earlier

Would you wear a bright yellow dress? I love love love this dress and want an occasion and excuse to buy it but alas I have no justification.

I think it would look lovely on a warm skin tone and looks shape flattering. Not too much boob but then again may be too much if you don't want any cleavage.

Meant to attach link instead! www.asos.com/prd/22947200?acquisitionsource=pasteboard

This isn't crew-neck, which is a shame. But it has the sleeves, length and outline you like, I think. Plus it's really simple.

here

ZooeyS · 21/05/2021 13:17

I would definitely wear bright yellow but that dress... I think on someone younger it could look nice but the applique combined with the tits might look super mumsy on me.

ZooeyS · 21/05/2021 13:17

@catfromjapan that's more like it!

ZooeyS · 21/05/2021 13:18

Am I too old to style it like that?

OP posts:
HelenHywater · 21/05/2021 13:20

I love this dress sezane

and this one too Maje

I'm not big of boob though, and the Maje dress may be better for flatter chests. Still love them both though...

ZooeyS · 21/05/2021 13:21

@HelenHywater great name - that purple is gorgeous but the frills plus my 36DDs would be a bit of a combo

OP posts:
thecatfromjapan · 21/05/2021 13:23

Zooey No. you're not (too old to style it like that). It's deliberately simple - and you can do 'deliberately simple' at any age.

catfromjapan · 21/05/2021 13:23

Aha - @ZooeyS I think you meant to page @thecatfromjapan
Now I will have to have a look at the dress ;-)
(PS I sometimes get notifications for here and I'd gave away this name if I could but I think once you have it that's it. I usually use a different name.

This maybe? Looks boob and leg friendly, but a bit pricey maybe...

ZooeyS · 21/05/2021 13:33

Looking at that side view @TortoiseShed we may have differing opinions on boob friendly!

OP posts:
TortoiseShed · 21/05/2021 13:35

Ha really?! I am large of boob and I'd see definitely wear it (if I had an occasion to wear it to). Maybe I'm brazen GrinBlush

The Bravissomo site has been mentioned before for those who are well endowed.

JaceLancs · 21/05/2021 21:58

OP are you sure you are a 36DD? I’m a 36G gone up from 34G since lockdown weight gain currently size 12-14 aiming to get back to size 10 again
I wouldn’t say my boobs are that big at all
I would second the bravissimo dresses though

sansou · 21/05/2021 22:15

v necked wrap dresses would suit larger chests and maybe go for minis to show off your legs. Plenty of choice on the outnet

HeartandCoal · 21/05/2021 22:45

I'd go for a v necked short (ish) dress in a block colour with a statement sandal like these ...

ZooeyS · 22/05/2021 06:38

@JaceLancs typo! 38dd!

OP posts:
bonfireheart · 22/05/2021 09:10

@HelenHywater those dresses are gorgeous.

Please no one buy those wolf & badger saddles.

Journeynotdestination · 22/05/2021 09:24

The Iris & Ink one will make your boobs look huge. I like the white Reiss one. You can wear with ankle boots if it’s cold. Gold jewellery & cropped jacket & you’ll look super cool. I have 32E boobs, same height as you etc. I’m going to get that dress if it goes on sale!

JaceLancs · 22/05/2021 09:29

@ZooeyS
In your OP you said you were a size 12 so even more surprised you are a 38DD - have you ever tried boob or bust way of measuring - a well fitting bra will make your new dress look even more fabulous!
