OMG! Boden Autumn Preview

I have just had a quick look at the Boden Autumn preview. I love a lot of their jumpsuits and dresses from this season and the previous one, but these up-coming styles are truly awful. Dowdy and drab. Is it just me?

Wraplondon! Gorgeous clothes. Less trendy than hush, more grown up I think. Less "stiff' than jigsaw. Less predictable than mint velvet.

They always have the clothes i want to buy but not cheap. Not cheaper than boden :-/

I keep an eye on the site though and have bought one or two lovely things.

If you like Wrap, you will also like Poetry. These are my favourite easy living clothes!

I like the offerings from Arket and &OtherStories. I haven’t been in a Next or shopped from them for years. M&S have the best chinos for £25 this year. Great fabric and well cut. Far superior to Boden. I’m always quite keen on a decent shirt and chinos! But I’m older than most I suspect.

I received a catalogue for Thought yesterday. Has anyone tried them? The clothes looked nice, if a bit too bohemian for me.

I’m going to look at Wrap and Poetry now.

Thought is good, I have a couple of their dresses. Wrap looked a bit hippyish to me and i find Baukjen worthy and dull. I used to buy sassy bodycon dresses from Baukjen, they really suited me, now all they have is very plain stuff with a side helping of eco waffle.

Those floral dresses are the type of thing my 16yr old has bought for sixth form. I said I feel too old to wear that type of thing 🤦 She's actually bought them from M&S kidswear, despite not being a childlike size...far less money than Boden!

Boden was always my go to place for, blazers, bretons and good basics. Can't remember the last time I shopped there now.

Me too. I tend to buy those kinds of things at Crew now.

Wrap isn’t really boho but if you like body con it’s not for you.

&OtherStories has great summer blazers. They will be a bit oversized this year but I like that!

Fuck. I thought you might be exagerating but no.
That lot's headed for landfill. I'm 66 and I'd never have been seen dead in any of it as far as I looked.

I mean bleurgh. Seriously. Plot long gone.

There's Liberty print dresses... and then there's this. No thanks.

Thank you and ExConstance for recommending Thought. I had never heard of them, but I see they have some really nice stuff and I’ll be placing an order.

The problem is that Boden is trying to copy The Vampires Wife but is failing in shape and kudos. TVW are the leading designers in this type of fabric/fashion at the moment and Boden are poor copies.

Looked at Thought online. Not for me. I’ll stick to Poetry in the sales!
