PeckaRolloverAgain · 09/11/2007 22:55

I have just had a new kitchen put in.

White gloss units with walnut block worktop and walnut floors. Walls white with one in duck egg blue.

The chairs round the table are bistro chairs some white and some blue.

this

this

or

this one

None of them are my ideal but the money has run out!

i like the first.

and it all sounds gorgeous - congrats

last one a definate no no

LyraSilvertongue · 09/11/2007 23:00

The second one. I like wooden tables.

Blu · 09/11/2007 23:01

The round white one (with chrome base - not the twirly Tyrolean bse, under any circumstances) or the rectangular white one...the wood round oe is good - but if the wood doesn't go with your floor and worktops it will look ..not good.

What is a Bistro chair, white or blue? Think we need to see the chairs, really.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 09/11/2007 23:01

Im a bit concerned with walnut overkill if I got for the wooden [veneer ;)] one!

1 or 2

I like 2 to look at, but veneer would be a shame if you have solid walnut for the rest.

Sounds lovely!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 09/11/2007 23:03

chairs are like this

have a mix of white and blue - saw different coloured chairs in a mag and liked it

first one. the round white with chrome base.

you know its right.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 09/11/2007 23:06

I love the last one from IKEA. You need to go and have a look, though I'm not sure whether it will go with the bistro chairs. It's gorgeous though.

NappiesShnappiesPANTSgalore · 09/11/2007 23:11

hmmm, i ratherlike that too... but for the sake of harmony one must let some damn fine ideas go methinks

[that was pretentions wany designer talk there, did you like that??

NappiesShnappiesPANTSgalore · 09/11/2007 23:11

wany - wanky. of course

francagoestohollywood · 09/11/2007 23:12

safest bet is the first one on your list.

LyraSilvertongue · 09/11/2007 23:12

Stainless steel would be wrong. Too many surface materials. You can never have too much wood imo.

NappiesShnappiesPANTSgalore · 09/11/2007 23:13

agree wih franka. looks wicked, but you have to see in the flesh (steel) to see if it looks as good in rl or looks cheap.

as well as if it goes with the rest.

do like it tho...

francagoestohollywood · 09/11/2007 23:14

it is rather gorgeous isn't it ng? reminds a bit of philippe stark work for kartell (ponce emoticon )
I love ikea

NappiesShnappiesPANTSgalore · 09/11/2007 23:14

i disagree that steel would be wrong. theres only dark wood and shiny white so far - thats only two other surfaces. except a smattering of blue...

how does it fit the space?

NappiesShnappiesPANTSgalore · 09/11/2007 23:15

yes, the starck influence (rip off) is pronounced isnt it?

[wanker(me) hehe]

NappiesShnappiesPANTSgalore · 09/11/2007 23:17

i was really into the idea of having zinc work surfaces in my kitchen. think would look brilliant all scuffed and worn in places, like the bar in a french village socail club
[poncetastic]

PeckaRolloverAgain · 09/11/2007 23:17

There is plenty of space - I have L shaped kitchen at one end of the room and then about 12 ft to fill - table goes infront of patio doors

right well, franca and i (style gurus both) think you should go for it and get the shiny metal starck ripoff. its witty and unusual and fun, as well as devilishly stylish.

goes well with your sleek and fab sounding kitchen then.

the round white table works - and would look great, but the metal one os more daring, and i think more pleasing in the end.
