Which table for my scrummy new kitchen?

PeckaRolloverAgain · 09/11/2007 22:55

I have just had a new kitchen put in.

White gloss units with walnut block worktop and walnut floors. Walls white with one in duck egg blue.

The chairs round the table are bistro chairs some white and some blue.

this

this

or

this one

None of them are my ideal but the money has run out!

Y'know - I think your right.....

They had BETTER be able to order it in.

Cant help but think its going to be mega cheap looking at £90!! Worth the gamble though at that price.

It makes sense actually - as I was worried I was overdoing either the white or walnut - and I do find my sleek brushed stainless steel handles/oven etc very pleasing against the white/walnut/blue so should fit well.

Right. Get me the table. I want it yesterday. I am pregnant and will cry.

There are three of them

Assembled size
Length: 150 cm
Width: 75 cm
Height: 45 cm

This is the biggest...

lol.

km, the scratched worn look will look great. like the brushed stainless she has elsewhere.

but are you sure about size pecka? have you a tapemeasure? can you picture 120x60? its pretty small.... maybe 2 of them? is still only 140 squid (its 70 not 90)

BeautifulBoysGalore · 09/11/2007 23:27

how many of you are there?

BeautifulBoysGalore · 09/11/2007 23:28

150x75 sounds better...

PeckaRolloverAgain · 09/11/2007 23:28

Kerrymum- yep I have kids (2 with 3rd due in 7 weeks!)

I see your point but surely no worse than the white gloss I originally wanted?

ignores sensible metal scratching warning because she loves the shape of the table legs

PeckaRolloverAgain · 12/11/2007 15:52

I couldnt get the stainless steel table - got the first ikea one.

Now I need help with what colour to paint the walls! The splashback around all the units will be the white metro tiles pictured in the album.

I'm loving your kitchen, Pecka, and it looks strangely the way I think mine might once we've brought the wall down between kitchen and dining room, which I do hope will be soon!

GrapefruitMoon · 12/11/2007 16:34

Metal tables are fab imo. I have one (from JL, don't think they do it anymore though) and it is sooo easy to keep clean with kids. If we want to make it look less utilitarian we just stick a table cloth on top. I would have had stainless steel worktops too if we could have afforded them but just have one length (got it from Wickes if anyone needs one, very reasonable...)

But if you can't get one, option 1 was next best I thought. (And I'm not entirely sure about the legs on the metal Ikea one - but I think it's part of the range where you can mix and match the legs so you could get differerent ones I think...)

GrapefruitMoon · 12/11/2007 16:35

Sorry, didn't realise this was an old thread so ignore me

PeckaRolloverAgain · 12/11/2007 17:01

We really do need to do something with ours, Pecka - it's looking really manky! And fortunately I'm not pregnant - I can't imagine how trying that must have been for you. The end result is well worth it though, judging by your photos.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 13/11/2007 15:59

thanks smartarse, hope yours is lovely when its done.

I just cant decide on paint! Its being tiled tomorrow then we need to paint but I cant decide between
