Does anyone think the white ones are ok? I was asking about the rose gold as I did think they probably weren't great. I didn't ask about the plain white as I thought they were completely inoffensive but now I'm wondering! I don't like the small silver bit on the back though.

I was neutral until I saw that flash of silver. Just why?

Walkingtheplank · 10/03/2021 21:43

I have this shoe in several colours so ' delighted' to see so many (was it everyone?) say they're frumpy.

I have wrecked feet from running and these are one of the few brands that work with my feet. I've gone for comfort over style.

shouldistop · 10/03/2021 21:46

@PickAChew I know, the silver is so annoying!

They look a bit like apple turnovers! And also similar to the shoes my O-level geography teacher wore. So a no from me!

I find the classic suede Pumas have a wider fit if that's what you're after (usually in a range of pretty pastels) and could have a look in Dune as they often incorporate a trainer into their wide-fit collection.

SmallPrawnEnergy · 10/03/2021 21:48

Omg those superga ones ... I almost died laughing that someone genuinely suggested those. Please don’t get them they’re fucking terrible, what people think trendy is but really is middle aged middles class tack!

orchidsonabudget · 10/03/2021 21:49

@ShirleyPhallus

I’m afraid using the word trendy negates any trendiness

They are indeed frumpsville

😂I have just asked on another thread how to be more trendy BlushConfused What word should I be aiming for instead?
GeidiPrimes · 10/03/2021 21:54

What word should I be aiming for instead?

^^"With it" Wink

Don't worry, I use the (probably even less "with it" Grin) words snazzy and jazzy as a descriptor.

ShirleyPhallus · 10/03/2021 21:58

What word should I be aiming for instead?

Groovy? Wink

felineflutter · 10/03/2021 22:03

Are these ok?

Frumpy or Trendy?
Alsohuman · 10/03/2021 22:06

I wouldn’t. And I’m old.

Alsohuman · 10/03/2021 22:12

I’ve got these. You need to go up a half size.

@felineflutter

Are these ok?
Women's geox are extremely narrow fitting.
PaulHollywoodsLowHangingFruit · 11/03/2021 01:18

Plain leather converse- they are on the wide side.

yaboo · 11/03/2021 02:29

'Gabor' make shoes for pensioners. Same with... ooh... Hotter, Pavers, etc. Some of them are, to be fair, really comfortable, but nobody would ever say they were 'trendy'.

The shoes you've listed are rather frumpy, though. And £90! Wow.

How about...

www.office.co.uk/view/product/office_catalog/2,20/4133324673

I've got these in black, and they're mega-comfy, (£70 quid though), or,

www.office.co.uk/view/product/office_catalog/2,20/3893621716

they're £45... Have never owned NB trainers, but I hear they're comfy and durable.

Faffandahalf · 11/03/2021 07:18

Supergas are not a middle aged brand and even if they were so what?

dividedwefall · 11/03/2021 09:38

I don't think they are frump or trendy. I think they are nice and functional.

dividedwefall · 11/03/2021 09:39

£70 for plastic shoes? Shock

dividedwefall · 11/03/2021 09:40

As for Geox I have loads of pairs and they are not that slim fitting. I have normal, verging on wide feet and find them comfy. High quality too.

AntennaReborn · 11/03/2021 09:46

Frumpy

But what do I know, I own a pair of Fitflop trainers Grin

(in my defence, I only wear them when I know I'll be doing a lot of walking/ standing because they are really comfortable, I own nicer trainers for other occasions)

TheYearOfSmallThings · 11/03/2021 09:48

Gabor shoes are 100% frumpy, and not in a deliberately frumpy way that could be fashionable.

I've had boots from them before which were very comfortable, if grantastic.

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 11/03/2021 09:50

I know these are from Clark's which can veer towards frumpy but I quite like the look of these (which come in wide fit)

evilharpy · 11/03/2021 09:57

Have a look at Moda in Pelle, their leather trainers are lovely and lots are currently 50% off. I find I have to size up but they're comfy and not narrow.

shouldistop · 11/03/2021 11:49

So my mum thinks the trainers are nice, that decides it Grin

Will look up some of the suggestions here.
