My 30th is coming up in January & I would really like a nice ‘everyday’ necklace.

Please share your ideas/your pretty necklaces - I don’t really know what I want.

I have this: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/639050823/sunstone-brass-14k-gold-filled-necklace and love her work.

Have you looked at Maya Brenner?

I have a Tiffany necklace that I've worn everyday for 4 years and it still looks perfect

Tiffany has lots of relatively reasonably priced necklaces, like some others have posted Smile

Carrie Elizabeth

Loulerie

Chupi

Honestly I would buy anything from those 3.

But my everyday necklace is by Alan Ardiff. There are cogs inside some of his necklaces so when you move your head, a part of the necklace moves.

I have one of the bee necklaces which is gold on a gold chain with some silver on the bee. My wedding and engagement rings are white gold / diamond and I find it all goes together just fine. The bee has a nice shape on the chain and the chain is the right about of glitter in low light. I wear the necklace every day and it’s never let me down. I love that it’s yellow gold and I wear yellow gold earrings a lot - not matching ones but I’ve seen the dragon fly earrings and others on Alex monroe in gold that I am really lusting after!)

Another vote for Tiffany! I have this one and I wear it all the time. It's subtle but pretty I think

You can definitely mix gold and silver jewellery but most people suit silver/gold better based on their skin tone

ReluctantEarlyRiser · 26/11/2020 22:02

I have a sweet Alex Monroe necklace. Simple silver chain with a tiny gold fox.

I also like looking for local jewellery makers. I usually find them via craft fairs etc but lots sell on etsy and notonthehighstreet.

Tiffany city hardware ball pendant in silver - Best ever every day necklace, have worn it continuously since it was gifted to me last Christmas. All other jewellery now redundant!

Italianmeringuebuttercream · 10/12/2020 19:27

I wear both a gold necklace with a diamond pendant which used to be a vintage diamond ring and a silver Thomas sabo charm necklace. The gold necklace is shorter than the silver one. I've worn both for 8 years.

ToadCandle · 10/12/2020 19:33

I have THIS and I never take it off. It’s beautiful and gets lots of compliments.

Icenii · 10/12/2020 19:34

I've asked for one of these. I normally wear silver or platanum but am starting to like yellow gold so thought I'd see how I go with one of these.

I have a rose gold Tiffany key which I wear all the time.
Similar to this one:

This is what I wanted for my recent 40th birthday. I ended up choosing a Nina B one: www.johnlewis.com/nina-b-folded-brushed-box-chain-pendant-necklace-silver/p3663136#product

We have the most amazing jewellery craftswoman here on the Isle of Man. Some of the best jewellery I’ve ever seen.

I have this by Monica Vinader and I wear it all the time.

Etsy have goldsmiths who do handmade work... pricey but very individual, and they have an organic, special look (imo). I bought my "everyday" jewellery from there.

Incidentally, I think buying really good "everyday" jewellery is a brilliant choice. I would rather have my "everyday" pendant than 5 "special occasion" pendants, and I get more wear out of it, too. It's discreet and plain, but people comment on it because it's not run of the mill. And it's the kind of thing you can pass on to a daughter or granddaughter.

I have two from Daniella Draper, both are silver chains with gold pendants.

Icenii · 11/12/2020 09:19

Gold and silver do go. I have a gorgeous chunky silver ring from Lavan Jewellery with gold balls on.

pursuedbyablackdog · 11/12/2020 09:28

What's your budget? Are looking for something you could pass on? Do you want something new or would you consider preloved (you can get more for your money) gold holds its value, unlike silver (unless it's by a famous designer or is truly unique.) is there a design you like? Is this something you are buying for yourself or asking someone to purchase for you?

StCharlotte · 11/12/2020 11:35

This is my everyday necklace - they also do it in silver, white gold and possibly a trio of golds? Can't get on the site at the moment for some reason.

Help me find a ‘everyday’ necklace please
Tinks15 · 11/12/2020 11:39

@pursuedbyablackdog - don’t want to go above £150 tbh, want it to easily go with everything, fairly simple but pretty. Probably myself that will be buying it, nobody has asked me what I want for my birthday so they’ve obviously got it all worked out. Grin

Some beautiful bits on there @mousey37 thank you.

@CovidDilemma I looked on Monica Vinder & liked a few on there. I’m going to have another look later.

Have a look at hot diamonds, not expensive and some simple elegant very day jewellery.

Polecat03 · 11/12/2020 12:02

I'm on the lookout for an everyday necklace too, I'd be happy with just a chain and thought I'd found the perfect one on Etsy - called a mirror chain, so although it had no pendant or anything, the links had a bit of sparkle to them, they catch the light in a really pretty way. However, it rips out all my hair! Is this a common problem with necklaces? I'm not a big jewellery person, couldn't do with my hair being caught and pulled out all day :(

I can't wear snake chains because my hair gets tangled in them.
QueenPaws · 11/12/2020 14:10

Not expensive but I wear one from here most days
