Waht do we think yay or nay?

I understamd they are warm and comfy but can't help feel they are a bit, well, unstylish....

one of peters carers had real uggs last winter. i thought they looked like big slippers.

nappiesLaGore · 20/10/2007 11:27

oh they do.

but you have to put some ON.seriously, they are SO delicious to wear.

cosy and soft... and somehow keep your whole body warm. if you feel the cold at all, you have to get some.

Lazarou · 20/10/2007 11:52

I tried some uggs on in office and they were just the most comfy pair of shoesies ever.
It's a toss up between doing up the house or indulging my appetite for fashion. Damn this house!!!!

Nbg · 20/10/2007 11:55

I have these ones and they are soooo warm and loverrrly

That site is quite good as the prices are a bit cheaper.
Admittedly its old stock but you'd never know.

Scootergrrrl · 20/10/2007 12:09

If you want real ones, try this place alamo shoes Mine (chocolate, tall) were less than eighty quid, including shipping from the US.
As for the debate - comfort this good can't be bad!

Caroline1852 · 20/10/2007 12:13

Scootergrrrl · 20/10/2007 12:19

Nbg · 20/10/2007 12:22

I knew he wouldnt wait for one.

NutterlybloodandgUts · 20/10/2007 13:10

I want uggs but I highly doubt they'd fit my fat calves, even the shorty ones I can't even wear wellies for that problem

bodycolder · 20/10/2007 13:13

I have the ankle ones this year I like them Very comfy warm and if you wear them properly can look stylish!I think

ChinaSurprise · 20/10/2007 14:37

Have had mine for a year and now am pg love them more than ever - so comfy. Only downside is they can make you overheat (can't believe how hot I get now) - to solve this I sometimes wear them folded down under jeans - the extra width gives you a cooling breeze up the trouser leg - haha.
Or wear them barefoot - how they're supposed to be worn apparently - it's like having a teddy bear cuddle each foot - and get one size smaller than normal as they stretch a lot and can get quite sloppy.
Although DH tends to borrow mine secretly (he thinks), which might have something to do with that

morningglory · 20/10/2007 15:03

I refused to buy Uggs for the longest time because they are truly hideous. Last year, while waiting for a friend to try on a pair of shoes, I decided to try a pair on....and fell in love. They were sooooooo confortable! I got the Nomad style in black which lace up to the knee, and lived in them all last winter.

As a fashion statement, thumbs down. But who cares when they are sheer bliss on your feet?

morningglory · 20/10/2007 15:05

NutterlybloodandgUts: try the lace ups, you'll definitely be able to wear those. Kind of like these:

i like uggs but sadly can not get h to part with the money the fraze "how much for a pair of furry shoes"

potatofactory · 20/10/2007 19:03

I'm getting confused by communication that obviously happens that I can't see - when did Cod say anything? I keep trawling through threads, having seen replies to things, but can't find what prompted them. Annoying! Feel left out nlow...

Lazarou · 20/10/2007 19:29

its HUN triple x

Lazarou · 20/10/2007 19:34

QUADRUPLE X EVEN. I feel slightly drink

BlueberryPancake · 20/10/2007 20:49

This is a fashion, they are ugly. Culottes were once in fashion.

A couple of years ago, women who are now wearing uggs were wearing stilettos. ANd before that, they were wearing square heals. Once a fashion victim always a fashion victim. God I feel bitchy tonight, must be the rugby

boolepew · 20/10/2007 20:59

I was looking at he Emu ones, online. They look like they have a better sole on them.

boolepew · 20/10/2007 21:04

the

bubblerock · 21/10/2007 10:37

Right, having read how comfy they are, I have just ordered a box of Ugg style boots to sell in my shop - so if they don't sell, I will be blaming you lot

jennypenguin · 21/10/2007 11:02

Uggs are and always will be really ugly. They remind me of the type of boots one finds in catalogues for old people, then turn the page and find incontinence pads!

Blondilocks · 21/10/2007 13:15

UGLY! I'd rather have a pair of more tailored flat boots.

Also when you see people wearing them they always seem to be leaning over to the left ... can't really explain it easily without a diagram, but the foot doesn't seem to be resting on the sole, more making the base of the boot part slouch over which I'm sure can't be good for your feet?

Plus they always seem to look filthy on the people I've seen wearing them.

ChinaSurprise · 21/10/2007 15:46

People stand on the heels in Uggs because they've bought too big a size - one size smaller than normal is best cos they stretch loads and you won't wear thick socks with them.
They are ugly, but they're so comfy you stop caring sharpish.
