They are now poopping up on the feet of many mums in our playground.

Waht do we think yay or nay?

I understamd they are warm and comfy but can't help feel they are a bit, well, unstylish....

Piffle I like the Boden ones but not the Duo ones. I love my Uggs though so may have dodgy taste.

Neverenough · 19/10/2007 12:03

Uggs look like wearing cornish pasties on your feet.
Not stylish imo, sorry. Fine at home-whatever floats yr boat !

the thing about the cost is - they were 'in vogue' last year so now it is all a bit naff

if you have to have a pair and dont already - get a cheap pair - next year they will not be here!

Neverenough · 19/10/2007 12:26

Actually, in Australia, Uggs have always been popular at low level and not a fashion thing at all.
Crocs now-whilst I thought they were ugly -and still do-I think they look cute on children's feet and are clearly practical for cleaning out rubbish bins. The range of colours is lovely.

oliviaelanasmum · 19/10/2007 12:31

I was debating buying a pair of the fake uggs with lace up front mainly as i have chunky calves (and chunky everything else )
and finding boots to wear over jeans is a nightmare. My crocs hav now been relegated to indoor use now its getting cold.

I always thought Clarks shoes looked like cornish pasties.

SeaShells · 19/10/2007 12:46

I've just bought a black pair and a dark brown pair, not original uggs but cheap copy ones, wouldn't dream of paying for the proper ones as I doubt I'll wear them past this winter. I love them, really comfy and warm. My 9 yr old DS finds them hilarious for some reason and rolls his eyes when he sees me wearing them

brimfull · 19/10/2007 12:49

my friend said she was wearing them in the early 80's when she was 17.She lived in surfy town though and said everyone had them.

celtic sheepskin co sell the best ones

I think they're nice ,but as my teenage dd wears them that rules them out for me.

donnie · 19/10/2007 12:52

Ugg is short for ugly. They are vile and make everyone's legs look ultra fat and horrid!

mm22bys · 20/10/2007 09:50

They are not a fashion accessory at all. I am from Australia, so have had ugg boots for as long as I can remember, but they are purely functional to wear on a coldish morning at home, before you dress properly to face the world.

I think some people have got the idea of ugg boots very wong!

I have never worn mine out, and never will!

LittleMissNervoustWitch · 20/10/2007 09:53

they are stylish if you are tall and waiflike

i love my uggs even if they make my legs look dummpy, i dont wear them for fashion, i wear them because they are so cumfy and warm

Meglet · 20/10/2007 09:55

definately 'yay' to Uggs.

I think I will invest in a proper pair this year. My cheap copies fall apart after 6 months. I walk to town all the time and they keep me toasty. I will still be wearing them when I get my pension.

Don't think they make anyones legs look fat. IMO they are sooo bulky they make legs look slimmer.

boomie · 20/10/2007 09:58

I have just bought my first ever pair of Uggs. I have NEVER EVER spent as much money on a pair of boots in my life but I am in love with them. They are the comfiest and snuggliest thing I have ever put on my feet. How I have managed for so long without them I don't know. Thinking about buying a black pair but not sure if my bank balance can take it!!

GibbonInABloodSoakedRibbon · 20/10/2007 10:03

I laugh every time I see them.
Would rather walk on broken glass the don a pair.

But then some would look at my clothes and think the same.

Takes all sorts.

nangnangnang · 20/10/2007 10:20

Ewww... had to go to university town yesterday and all the sloaney students were wearing them. They all walked in a slightly trippy way to make sure we knew they were a bit kooky. Yuk.

GibbonInABloodSoakedRibbon · 20/10/2007 10:21

pmsl 'They all walked in a slightly trippy way to make sure we knew they were a bit kooky'

nappiesLaGore · 20/10/2007 10:33

once you put them on once, you cant live without. islike a huge choclate bar and a duvet for your feet. heaven.

dont really give a rats arse what they look like when they feel so damn good, but i do happen to beleive that a big fat boot at the end of a pair of pins tends to balance out a chubbier middle section. no?

mamazon · 20/10/2007 10:34

they look rather silly but its like your feet are having an orgasm they are so comfy.

i would just beg that anyone who is buying does get some real ones and not the £8 rip offs from ASda.

Lazarou · 20/10/2007 10:37

I really want a pair of snowjoggers, but I can't afford them at the mo. They are selling like hot cakes as well.

nappiesLaGore · 20/10/2007 10:46

oh no, they must be real sheepskin or whats the point??
