your face but better

what are your favourite 'your face but better' products? as in, make up that isn't super noticeable, natural, and just enhances your features?

I like

  • clarins instant smooth perfecting touch - instantly makes my face look better, minimises pores, smooths skin, blurs
  • hourglass veil translucent setting powder - sets my (minimal) make up, minimises pores, blurs
  • ysl touche eclat (oldie but a goodie!) in inner corner of my eye, sometimes in cupids bow, around nose etc, sometimes under my eyes (tsk tsk)
  • dior nail glow - I use it with nail envy to just enhance my natural nails (on my fingers... not my face :D)

I'm still searching for my holy grail lip and eye natural looking enhancers :) would love to hear what you all like

Your face but better as in natural?

Bobbi Brown highlighter thingy. I have nude or bare or something and it just sweeps a veil of soft focus over your face.

I have lots of other HG products but they don't come under YFBB (eyeliners etc)

HeyMicky · 24/09/2020 10:41

Glossier stretch concealer
Daniel sander watercolour blush - very sheer
Mac shape and shade brow tint

TheQuietWoman · 24/09/2020 10:47

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid...it's amazing. I put it on with a foundation brush (I never use sponges or fingers) and I love how it makes my skin look. Another one is Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior - it seems to wave a magic wand over wrinkles to make them disappear. Far superior to the Trinny Blur.

CousinDolores · 24/09/2020 10:47

Another vote for Boy Brow - it clings onto existing lashes and just defines your brows a bit.

No7 Hydraluminous base is my new low-effort WFH discovery; covers up enough redness/shadows to give some polish but not so much that you look Made Up. Plus it's nearly always on some kind of offer.

Liz Earle used to do a great rosy cream blush that was a real YFBB product but I think it's been discontinued I stockpiled anyway

CousinDolores · 24/09/2020 10:47

Lashes? Brow hairs, I mean!!

violetbunny · 24/09/2020 10:54

The entire Chanel Les Beiges range is perfect for this...

thesecangettofuck · 24/09/2020 11:21

Been working on this look for a while now. I feel I can contribute. I want to look done but also like I'm naturally beautiful Grin

IT Cosmetics CC cream
NudeStix All Over Face Cover Blush
A nice brown eyeshadow just over the lid and lining the bottom lash line. I have a Stila palette
Dior Lip Tattoo - I don't want to be reapplying
Mascara - either Benefit Roller Lash if you want lashes that look like falsies. Or if a really au natural look then Benefit Tinted Eyelash Primer

wizzbangfizz · 24/09/2020 11:56

@TheQuietWoman could you link to the Kate Somerville product please?

TheQuietWoman · 24/09/2020 12:07

Wizz the whole range is amazing - I love the 2 in 1. www.katesomerville.co.uk/anti-aging-products-wrinkle-warrior-anti-wrinkle-treatment/10259.html

I think there is 25% off with Really Ree's code at the mo.

wizzbangfizz · 24/09/2020 14:52

Thank you! SpaceNk also have 15 off a 60 spend so def going to give this a try!

Great thread OP although it's going to hit my bank account Wink

workhomesleeprepeat · 24/09/2020 15:47

I’m in love with the Nars tinted moisturiser - it makes my skin look amazing! Had so many compliments since I started using it.

Another vote for Glossier cloud paint, but I did find it a bit fiddly to use at first!

IsItBiggerThanTheBoxItsIn · 24/09/2020 20:51

Some form of under eye corrector/concealer (currently bourjois, Becca is on the wish list)

Hourglass Dim Light powder

Clinique chubby stick cream blush. It was a free gift but it's really lovely and natural looking.

Lipstick queen lipgloss in a shade similar to my lips.

I'm very tempted by Glossier Boy Brow after reading this thread as I currently use eyeshadow in my brows. I also need to replace my mascara and a friend recommended the Glossier Lash Slick as being good but natural.

Phphion · 24/09/2020 22:21

Stila One Step Correct colour corrector
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Tint Cream
Sensai Bronzing Gel
Another vote for Glossier Cloud Paints or Daniel Sander Watercolour blushes
Perricone No Highlighter Highlighter
The various Lipstick Queen colour changing lipsticks. I like Good Morning Sunshine.

mynewusernameisthis · 27/09/2020 15:12

ooh yes I have the clinique chubby stick cheek too, it's very natural

Thanks for all the recommendations, I've made a list!

Watching! Sorry nothing to add, I am rubbish at make up but need some ideas.

XingMing · 27/09/2020 16:50

Sensei Bronzing Gel is my go too. Many years ago, I went ice-skating with a friend and our children. I thought I looked a bit faded so touched up in the loo (no mirror). When I came out, she demanded to know what I had put on. It's sheer but miraculous.

The Glow Primer from the same range is also wonder-juice. I wear it instead of foundation, with a flick of MAC powder on my nose. It would not be a revelation if I was 28, but I am 64, and it acts as a really flattering unifying lift -- as long as your skin is decent to start.

XingMing · 27/09/2020 16:53

By which, I only mean that there's nothing concealing in either Sensai product.

GertieBassett · 27/09/2020 17:41

Chanel perfection lumiere... best foundation for my very dry skin. Makes my skin look dewy.

Nat970 · 27/09/2020 20:26

I use Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat - I use it instead of lipstick - either Pillow talk or Supersize me - depending on your complexion

Ozzybobz12 · 27/09/2020 22:35

I use EL Doublewear, Collection concealer, Sainsburys Liquid Blush, curl my eyelashes & use CT Pillow Talk mascara & a Clinique Chubby stick for lips.

Girlzroolz · 27/09/2020 22:53

Best brown mascara is Benefit Rollerlash.

Very natural, quick to apply.

Deathraystare · 29/09/2020 09:04

Imtoooldforallthis

I to love balance and glow -better than balance and brighten, but QVC rarely have my shade in!

beautifulmonument · 02/10/2020 06:04

Benefit porefessional
Clinique chubby stick lip stick in Whole Lotta Honey
