This is what I've got:

  • a couple of 1960's-style black pinafore style short dresses
  • white blouse or two
  • lots of high heels
  • lots of coloured tights

that's about it for me

Today I am wearing a black and white floral patterned 1960s dress, fishnet tights and high heeled ankle boots

and I definitely ROCK

VeniVidiVickiQV · 09/10/2007 09:31

Thanks MP.

I'm not sure that would work on a size 18 lady......

VeniVidiVickiQV · 09/10/2007 10:32

i agree vvv it is a tricky one

i am mostly wearing wide trousers, quite tailored, with smart sneakers, and layers of nice funky t's and fine knitwear. am looking for a really nice dress to wear with coloured tights and chunky shoes, but its hard to find something flattering if one goes in and out rather than up and down.

am a bit of an amateur at stay at home wardrobe

CappuScreamO · 09/10/2007 11:20

dresses

boots

more dresses

that's the way I'm going

CappuScreamO · 09/10/2007 11:20

ooh mazzystar

links to good trainers and wide legs pls

mazzystar · 09/10/2007 11:29

i got some fab charcoal trousers in monsoon, v forgiving and with a touch of stretch, they are not on the website though.

dh bought me these in a dark taupe/pewter colour and they are really comfy, mucho£££ but dh approves of sneakers as opposed to teetering heels, gap have got pretty good copies way way cheaper

i need dress and boot links....

upthewaterspout · 09/10/2007 12:06

lol yes I am wearing that at home

I did the school run and said hello to a builder repairing the gas main - does that count as socialising?!

I don't even have the bloody postman to impress with this damn strike on

I love this time of year though - I love the mercy of tights

boots and dresses v. good cappucino

upthewaterspout · 09/10/2007 12:07

doh that's me MP

PoshCod · 09/10/2007 12:07

are you rather

eccentric mp?

morningpaper · 09/10/2007 12:08

lol

no not really

I don't THINK so

lissiethevampireslayer · 09/10/2007 12:09

i want to be glam enough to wear frocks and boots and tights for doing housework.

PoshCod · 09/10/2007 12:09

do you r firends think your dress is a little
ahem

way out

cardy · 09/10/2007 12:10

Wide leg jeans and wide leg trousers - the taller you are the wider the leg you can get away with.

tailored blouses

narrow belts on the waist

(maybe its just me nut also waistcoat)

PoshCod · 09/10/2007 12:12

wide legs dont suit me

belts dont eigher as the gap between boobs and fanny is SHORT 9 in comparitson)

otherwaise go on...

mazzystar · 09/10/2007 12:14

what are good dresses for curves this season?

i have awful thighs, but everything else is getting into better shape. i even have a waist again.

PoshCod · 09/10/2007 12:14

thos e kimono htings i fear

fishie · 09/10/2007 12:16

wide legs disaster on me too. i am embracing the skinny jeans / sweater dress / boots look. although it is dangerously close to smocks it is good for office.

i believe we are meant to be wearing pencil or skater skirts. off to buy grazia...

morningpaper · 09/10/2007 12:17

not REALLY

I always think I dress like the mannequins in Debenhams ...

But I DO live in Somerset so to be honest no one has the remotest idea of what is In This Season or bothers washing their clothes

I feel like Doctor Who's assistant in the wrong century sometimes
