mp you are too old

Quadrophenia · 09/10/2007 14:50

I have no money for new clothes so am basically recycling my old stuff by wearing it differently.

Dropdeadfred · 09/10/2007 16:16

i can't do the eclectic, individual, weird kind of style...I have to look like things are mean't to go together...

I admire those that can carry it off though.

I'm still undecided about MP's ensemble

morningpaper · 09/10/2007 17:03

at indecision

I am not too old for a pinafore

Too old for glittery eye shadow MAYBE

morningpaper · 09/10/2007 17:06

this is my pinafore du jour

is LOVELY with lovely tights and boots

VeniVidiVickiQV · 09/10/2007 17:12

I have bought a lot of purple stuff this season!

I think it is good to home in on one shop each season with a collection you like and get most stuff from the same shop/ collection. Then you know that it will all go well together.

Also having lots of accessories and jewellery and some fairly plain basic items gives you a lot of different looks.

VVV you need to describe your lifestyle, do you need work stuff and what is your dress code, do you need dog walking/ school run gear/ waltzing around town and going to galleries and for coffee stuff? Do you wear heels, what do you want to look like?

scattyspice · 09/10/2007 20:33

This season I am wearing jumpers with jeans rather than tshirts with jeans.

Thats it really.

BroccoliSpears · 09/10/2007 20:45

You people have so many clothes. I am a big green eyed monster. My "capsule wardrobe" for the past 18 months has been a combination of

Brown skirt
Blue skirt
Turquoise skirt (summer only)
Blue shirt
White and blue shirt
3 t-shirts (brown, blue and white)
3 Vests (brown, pink and green)
Brown cardi
Green jacket
Green boots

Oh, and some old jeans and trainers for walking the dog.

Prior to 18 months ago, I was wearing maternity stuff. I actually got excited this week because I realised that being pregnant again meant I could EXPAND my choices and get out my old maternity stuff again.

SpookyBearistheSpookyBear · 09/10/2007 21:22

Did somebody say norks?

Bravissimo have a really nice dress at the mo to wear with boots. It is very flattering if you're curvy I think anyway. Don't know about bang on-trend. Where's my Grazia?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 09/10/2007 22:22

Well, I do part time work in an office where up until only 10 years ago the women were NOT allowed to wear trousers

But its smart/smart casual really.

I do the school run but I walk it - so heels not so great, and I do actually wear my running shoes to do it so I can do a brisk walk back and burn some extra calories.

I do the occasional meet up with friends etc, but other than work and school runs - im at home.

Right well I have put today's outfit on my profile for your perusal

Mmm I like this one too, the skirt is nice on my fullsome arse

Is this more suitable for someone of my advanced age?

PoshCod · 10/10/2007 11:20

the boots are terrible
other htna that
fine
they make your legs look short.

morningpaper · 10/10/2007 11:22

oh ok, that's not so bad then Cod

they are nice and warm though

I'm buying some Duo boots in Bath in a few weeks when I am being allowed out of Somerset for a few hours

morningpaper · 10/10/2007 11:24

perhaps I should have a daily What I Am Wearing picture so I can reject anything too hideous

after all it's not like anyone ever SEES me in real life

Dropdeadfred · 10/10/2007 12:20

the boots are horrid...the rest of the outfit looks suitably like my mum's office attire circa 1987

TheOriginalXENA · 10/10/2007 12:52

I'm not a fan of the boots but I like the rest of the outfit and wish I was that trendy... is trendy a bad word?

TheOriginalXENA · 10/10/2007 12:53

Actually scrub the trendy word it makes me think of rick astley!

morningpaper · 10/10/2007 13:13

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/10/2007 14:38

LOL

I have ordered some clothes off t'internet to tide me over whilst I am playing diet poker (cannot go clothes shopping with DS on my own, past history proven nightmare)

I've ordered some white shirts/blouses. A black waistcoat (I may be size 18 but I go in and out in all the right places), and a grey high waist pencil skirt.

Also a red cowl neck long sleeve jumper, and a black, belted polo tunic - see here

Any suggestions (and not shants please)?

OP posts:
cardy · 10/10/2007 22:13

Good choice with the waistcoat. I deliberated for ages then got one...I love it.

Like the other stuff too.

TheOriginalXENA · 11/10/2007 11:07
