Body Shop must haves?

What do you rate from Body Shop? Have a 50 GBP gift voucher which I'm keen to use before I forget.

OP posts:
nc600 · 26/08/2020 11:33

In fact yes, I would use it because they already have the money. But I couldn't even use their products I'm that disgusted by them

SciFiScream · 26/08/2020 12:29

You already have the voucher. So spend on something you won't ever want to reuse!

The advent calendar sounds good.

If you feel like it (and agree with it) you could tell the shop that it's the last spend they'll ever get from you.

Their treatment of women has been awful and they operate an MLM now which ends up exploiting those on low incomes - generally women too.

Bananaman123 · 26/08/2020 15:30

I love the hymalayan mask and wash, the spf, banana shampoo and conditioner and the strawberry is nice too.

Letsleepingdogslie8 · 26/08/2020 15:42

I love the Drops of Youth products.

espressoontap · 26/08/2020 15:49

Won't buy a single thing from there since they decided trans women can menstruate.

Cuddling57 · 26/08/2020 15:55

MN is all about sharing personal views and opinions! It was founded on that premise and succeeds because so many of us come here to share our views and opinions.
Yes yes yes!
I deliberately clicked on this thread to read people's views on Bodyshop the company.
You can learn so much from mumsnet Wink.
I'm sure the OP can make up their own mind after reading.

Oly4 · 26/08/2020 16:00

My favourites are all their shower gels, the make up brushes and the body butter. I also like their SPF moisturiser

Shinystuff · 26/08/2020 16:09

I adore the himilayan charcoal glow mask

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 26/08/2020 16:10

Whatever you do don't buy the orangey smelling range of stuff, mandarin or something it was called. It was like a horrid antibiotic I had to have as a kid. Had to throw it out. I'm afraid I can't recommend any of their products, since they sold out I've not been able to find anything worth their high prices.

And like many others, they will never get another penny from me. I don't even go in to browse now, because they're very anti-women.

Thecazelets · 26/08/2020 16:18

At risk of being repetitive, there are no 'must-haves' from the Body Shop for me after their treatment of JKR and their exploitative MLM. I don't think I could even bring myself to use up a gift voucher to be honest.

YoureBreakingMyHeartCecilia · 26/08/2020 16:38

Agree with others who say use the voucher as you have it but I’ve stopped shopping there myself on principle. I used to like the body yogurts a lot, they’re great if you like the scents of the butters but much lighter.

myusernamewastakenbyme · 26/08/2020 16:57

I'd spend it on Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance...i love that stuff.

TheChampagneGalop · 26/08/2020 17:26

Same here.
GlassOfPimms · 26/08/2020 18:53

I didn't know about the Body Shop's behaviour so this is eye opening for me. How awful!

However if I already had a voucher I'd buy something from their perfume range. Bowhanti eau de parfum is spicy and gorgeous - a lovely autumn fragrance!

bingowingsmcgee · 26/08/2020 20:37

Used to like a few of their things and would love to support my friend's bs business, but unless they apologise to Joanne Rowling for trying to publicly humiliate her, they won't be seeing another penny off my family

Mumofcats5 · 26/08/2020 20:44

The vitamin c range is excellent - lots of people have commented on my skin since I started using that.
Banana shampoo and conditioner
Also second the ginger shampoo and conditioner.

GroupSects · 26/08/2020 20:45

I used to buy online often and get Ginger Shampoo and White Musk perfume. So I’d get those.
I’ve moved on to MooGoo shampoo now for DD’s flaky scalp instead if anyone wants an alternative to the Ginger.

TheChampagneGalop · 26/08/2020 20:46

Trying to publicly humiliate her about an hour after she came out as a victim of domestic violence, at that Angry

Skyliner001 · 26/08/2020 21:09

Another vote for the Himalayan charcoal mask, but always get it in a deal, or on a three for two. Their body butters are always good, and their bar soaps are great too. There is a really nice perfume called Smokey Rose. Enjoy!

Goslowlysideways · 26/08/2020 22:54

The tweet they posted in response to JKR was horrible.

Desperatelyseekingreason · 26/08/2020 23:08

I won't be spending anything in their store for the foreseeable future.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 26/08/2020 23:11

None! I'm now boycotting The Body Shop like I boycotted south African apples in the 1980s.

Gingernaut · 26/08/2020 23:15

Body Shop must have?

Dump the pyramid scheme MLM

An apology to JK Rowling

LOLeater · 26/08/2020 23:20

I used to be an enthusiastic supporter of The Body Shop.

Then The Body Shop got enthusiastic about insulting women and undermining JKR: mocking a victim of domestic violence is unacceptable.

So no recommendations here. Maybe buy some bits for Christmas presents if you want to use the voucher....?

Mammyloveswine · 26/08/2020 23:23

Drops of youth serum is great, I love it!

Also the fibre lash extension mascara!

Himalayan charcoal face mask.

That'll come to around £50
