What do you rate from Body Shop? Have a 50 GBP gift voucher which I'm keen to use before I forget.

OP posts:
pinkbalconyrailing · 26/08/2020 08:54

as you already have the voucher...

their bb cream
olive oil soap

JadesRollerDisco · 26/08/2020 08:57

I wouldn't trust the products are the same as they used to be, because the rest of the company sure as hell isn't. It's just another rubbish MLM business these days.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 26/08/2020 08:59

I won’t buy from them again because of the Rowling debacle but I wouldn’t waste a gift voucher. Strawberry shampoo was my fave.

ArtemisBean · 26/08/2020 08:59

No way on God's earth would I give them my money after the disgusting way they spoke to JKR, but since it's a voucher (presumably somebody else paid for it and that's their choice) I always liked their makeup and shea butter range. As it's essentially a freebie to you, take every penny and enjoy it, then shake the dust of their crappy wokeness from your feet forever.

SerenityNowwwww · 26/08/2020 09:00

I did read somewhere that they weren’t as bunny-friendly as they say... could be a fib but you never know do you?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 26/08/2020 09:01

I meant lose not loose :/ but yeah I always thought it was a 'good MLM' then a friend got involved and its exactly the same as all the others just the products are nice. MLM is a way for a company to make money selling 'business startup packs' and BS do this on the side of also selling franchises for shops and just selling their own products direct. Its really shady.

GrimDamnFanjo · 26/08/2020 09:17

Binned them after JKR. A shame as I liked their chamomile cleansing balm.

Bbq1 · 26/08/2020 09:27

As a pp said, can people just give Op advice on good products from the Body Shop - rather than using her question as an opportunity to push their personal views onto her...Op, I love the Body shop. Their hemp handcream is gorgeous and I like their cooling cucumber shower gel too. I'd love a £50 voucher for The Body Shop.

Thisbastardcomputer · 26/08/2020 09:38

Peppermint foot spray, it's great on hot sweaty feet and if you spray it on bites it has a soothing effect

PopAVit · 26/08/2020 09:43

I also stopped buying from them since they deny women’s existence.

TBHno · 26/08/2020 09:49

I wouldn't set foot in their store after how they mocked JKRowling. Sad

However, since you already have the voucher, I'd probably get the advent calendar

I'm not ever going to shop there again but if I had a £50 voucher I'd certainly spend it.

I really like their makeup brushes.

RaveOm · 26/08/2020 10:04

I’m another one who’s pissed off that I can’t get the chamomile cleansing balm after their disgusting tweet to JKR when she wrote about bring sexually assaulted Angry

Ninkanink · 26/08/2020 10:06

@Malin52

They don't seem to believe that women exist so they are boycotted anyway but if that wasn't enough they run an exploitative MLM too.

Maybe give the voucher to a women's refuge?

This.

But besides that I’m not sure there is anything at Body Shop that’s actually ‘must-have’ these days.

If I had to venture a guess I’d say maybe they have some good make up?

optimisticpessimist01 · 26/08/2020 10:58

Chamomile cleansing butter - I will never stop buying this product it melts your makeup off and leaves your skin feeling really soft

I also use the Ginger shampoo because I get a really itchy scalp and its the only product that helps (but that's very individual specific)

I think if I had a gift card I'd get one of their tubs of their body scrubs or something, they have a luxurious range that is out of my budget but my friend has a few stuff from there and she loves it

TheClitterati · 26/08/2020 10:58

I'll never shop there again but if I had a voucher I'd get Hemp HandCream

IntermittentParps · 26/08/2020 11:02

I only really like their body scrubs (the pink grapefruit one and the juicy pear one are especially nice). They're too expensive at full price, but in the sale/with a gift voucher I'd stock up.

TheClitterati · 26/08/2020 11:04

Have you been on MN Before?

MN is all about sharing personal views and opinions! It was founded on that premise and succeeds because so many of us come here to share our views and opinions.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 26/08/2020 11:04

I too am boycotting and just put my empty BB cream that colour matches to your skin in the bin... so I'd get that cos it's brilliant. I am channelling my inner Spartacus and not moaning about it!

I don't disagree. However, this thread asks for people's views and opinions on Body Shop products to buy, not on other aspects of what people think about the business.

Nup wouldn't be using that.

This. Also, the fact that so many posters have come on to say that they have concerns about Body Ship’s actions show that this is a big issue and merits discussion.

Teal99 · 26/08/2020 11:31

Could you buy stuff and donate to a Beauty Bank so that it does not go to waste.

I am another who will not buy from them anymore. And Lush too. They are anti-women. They are not for me.
