Where do we stand on over the knee boots at 50?

So, I have always wanted a pair of suede over the knee boots to wear with loose jumper dresses etc. I turn 50 this year and now thinking maybe I'm just too old, though my legs are surprisingly good for my age (and the baggy jumper dresses will hide my middle aged tum) x

I'm 52 but wouldn't wear them over the knee because I'm a short arse. However I wear boots up to the knee because I'm old enough not to give a shit what other people think.

They're awful, regardless of age or fashion.

There are so many other options out there.

You could say that about anything though, just because some people don't like certain styles doesn't mean nobody should wear them.

The ones I've seen are in a really soft suede and sit just over the knee, they're not totally flat, but the heel is only about 2".

I don't like them on any age. Makes me think of a pirate or a sex worker

Personally I think they make your thighs look massive, even if you're skinny, but wear what makes you happy.

Sadly I look bloody daft in them as I’m short of leg - sort of Puss in Boots . However, no one is ever too old to wear anything that makes them feel good.

I’m 53 and the Caddy Belle suede boots from Clark’s are my go to in the winter. I’m 5’3” and I love them.

Lots of things that look lovely on the model look ridiculous on me. Many clothes looking classy online look tarty on me.

Some things that look naff or boring online look awesome on me (looking at you Cos and H&M).

If the boots look good in real life on your body with your dress, go for it.

Amiras from Fairfax and Favor, heeled or flat. They sit just above the knee and are spectacular. Have them in flat tan and heeled navy and I can't recommend them highly enough!

Wear whatever you want.
