Going back a bit I know, but if you don't like/wear tights how can you wear skirts & dresses in winter? I thought it was just me. I try long socks sometimes but they're irritating on hairy legs (as mine often are!)

i would love to wear dresses. but seems pointless really, plus ds tends to stick his head up dresses, or lift them up....

doyouwantfrieswiththat · 29/09/2007 20:09

accessories generally - they always look so purdy (redhillbilly accent) but I'm so low maintenance I just can't be bothered.

I saw such a sexy woman in Sainsburys the other day and I wanted to be her because of her style and look and how she seemed to float across the store!!

She was 40ish (I am 36) and was wearing a lovely grey sweater dress thing with a low slung belt. She had high heeled long black boots and silver jewellry......but she looked like she had made no effort at all.

She was tall and didnt have an ounce of fat on her tho she wasnt skinny either and she had a lovely long waist.

I was so envious and must have looked like a predator as I couldnt take my eyes off her.

Hideehi · 29/09/2007 21:35

White coats, there's one i am desperate for despite every once of common sense suggesting I am mad.

JackBlackRoady · 30/09/2007 08:59

Isabella Oliver stuff - can't justify the price when I won't have them on for long

Hideehi · 30/09/2007 11:42

With Isabella Oliver you get half your money back at least on ebay, I think when you're pregnant comfort and your confidence is worth every penny.

Cost per wear of everything I have ever bought at Boden is huge, some I have never worn at all - wrap dress anyone? All looks lovely on Jemima, favourite snack, bread and honey, but wrong on me. Except my velvet slouchy trousers from there have worn them til practically threadbare and have just ordered urgent replacement.

codswallop · 01/10/2007 12:42

lol at jemima

I have worn my wrap dress about 3 times. Have had it for over a year.

Caroline1852 · 01/10/2007 16:13

Nomdeplume - isn't that about £25 per wear then?

NomDeBroomstick · 01/10/2007 16:23

yes, probably. Ridiculous

electra · 01/10/2007 17:54

I've always wanted one of those lovely corsets but I wouldn't often have the opportunity to wear it.

Coolmama · 01/10/2007 17:56

I have a lovely Max Mara coat but I had a 1 year old when I bought it (hence never really went anywhere apart from the park, the supermarket and other friends' houses). It was dry clean only and I got sick of it being splattered from muddy puddles (it is cream . What was I thinking? I think I wore it about 7 times and had it dry cleaned about 3 times. I think it cost £375 or thereabouts.

twojags · 02/10/2007 17:42

I have a lovely Miss Sixty belted purple wool coat bought last winter.
I work from home 3 days and wear a uniform the other 2 working days so price per wear has probably been about £20 thus far....
Still purple is supposed to be in this season as well but even if it wasn't I still love having a 'proper coat'

susiecutie · 03/10/2007 01:27

going back to jumper dresses... ( am liking the plain grey one further back there .>>> ) what do you wear with them? tights/holdups? and shoes or boots?

also... still b/f so dresses pretty much out.. Oh I really miss my old winter wardrobe... shortish skirts, hold ups, long boots blouse/jumper/ cardigan not as frumpy as sounds

would love love love to be able to wear some kind of dress again but alas, the boobs have to come out time to time, and dont fancy flashing my M&S lacy shorts to world. as well as scary white midrift....

As for heals, well, i'm far too clumsy to risk being even an inch higher than i should be

WitnessProtectionCod · 03/10/2007 08:59

saw a omwan lokkin g good in a relaxed way

WitnessProtectionCod · 03/10/2007 09:00

am thinking boots fo xmas wiht sweater dress
in mean time ballet hsoes?

bozza · 03/10/2007 09:17

I don't see why you can't wear a long coat on the school run. As I have a foot in both camps (aka work part time), when I am working I get in the car drive to work, park and walk straight into the office, when I am taking DS to school I actually walk. I also wear skirts and long boots and tights when I am not working.

The things that I don't get to wear much are the sparkly going out tops and fancy strappy dresses - just don't look right down the local Indian on a Monday night.

1crazymumof2 · 03/10/2007 10:46

This week i will be mostly wearing.

My green mankini ala Borat, with my rainbow red or dead heels, MMMMMMMM!

Actually i'd settle for anything clean

susiecutie · 03/10/2007 11:30

I'm glad i'm not the only one then....

oh, i mean the settling for something clean... i'm not actually sitting her in a green mankini or rainbow heels...
