From dark brown and if I saw her in the street I seriously would not recognise her, I can't get my head around the change. Granted, I've only seen a few pics but it's truly shocking - she's 87 years old and this is very new for all of us!

Lockdown hair don't care! I was having my roots done every three weeks, but last December I stopped. I think if it wasn't for lockdown I would have caved, but now I'm determined to see this through. My plan is to tone the yellow hair so it's grey. I hope I can find a hairdresser who can do that.

A decent purple shampoo will tone down your blonde AngieBolen.

Maria Nila is the BEST silver shampoo and conditioner.

Its sulphate - free for a start, so doesn't dry your hair.

Its expensive though - you can get it from Sallys I know.

(Don't bother with the masks etc though as they're nothing special - just the conditioner and shampoo). I don't use anything else.

To keep those locks soft - remember

  1. Condition first
  2. THEN shampoo!

This was just a post to @puffinhead I read your post about your hair thinning and eyebrows disappearing - thinning eyebrows can sometimes be a sign of thyroid issues? Your post just leapt out a bit as my friend has had thyroid issues xx

11.5 months since last dye job.

Biggest regret is that I wish I started earlier.

Biggest surprises are that my hair is not as white as expected and that my hair is so much healthier now - it was thinning and breaking due to all those chemicals.

I don't look older - in fact it's easier to look good now that I've more money and time after all those years of spending a fortune sitting in hair salons.

Thats interesting about the eyebrows I have an under-active thyroid and thinning eyebrows especially at the outer ends. My DD has just dyed them at home for me using a product called Eylure (results were fab). I would recommend.

@socksmcgraw, thanks for your post, I had a blood test 2 years ago and my thyroid was fine. Got another one booked next week as eyebrow loss is very recent. Don’t think it is thyroid related though, it’s not the outer edges but the big bushy part that’s really been affected. @LockdownLucie, thanks for the tip. I’ve got a scar on my eyebrow that is now more noticeable (obviously less hair to cover it), I think the dying them would highlight it even more.
Sorry for the thread derail. Loving all the photos!
