And make it look effortless?

It’s the Stunning but Didn’t Try Too Hard look IYSWIM

The “ how do I style my hair? I wash it and leave it to dry naturally (tinkly laugh) my top? Oh, this old thing. I never do any exercise, I walk the dog and carry my shopping in and that is it.”

Perfect hair, teeth, skin, figure, clothes.

What is their secret? I want it.

That’s a pretty low bar TBH. I’m talking about the person who you give a double take to and think F Me they look fabulous.

They are probably very careful about what they eat if they genuinely just walk the dog and stay slim on that alone.

They probably pay really close attention to the basics. I used to be like that when I was younger and thinner and cared about this stuff. I remember spending £££ on what was pretty much a tee shirt, but it hung exactly right and revealed the exact right amount of collar bone etc. It looked like a no effort top but wasn't.

With hair - it can be luck. I'm a fat old trout now and have always had thin hair but it hangs well and it's naturally a colour people pay a lot to copy. I often get asked if I've just come from the hair dresser when I've literally just rubbed my hair dry with a towel and raked a comb through it. (Not boasting. The rest of me needs serious attention!)

@CafetiereCoffee - would you post an image of a perfect example of what you mean? I'm intrigued.

onedaysoonish · 21/05/2020 10:48

Yes @monkeyonthetable !

@cafetierecoffee could you post a pic?

LOVE these sorts of threads but always think they need images. Or are we not allowed to post things like that? Maybe the head needs to be chopped off so not identifiable..

I think some people have natural style. It looks effortless but they have a good eye for what colours and styles go well together.
Yes ironing your clothes and doing your nails etc can help you look more put together but being 'neat' or polished isn't the same thing imo.
To me, Sienna Miller epitomises this look. She doesn't look caked in make up, her hair often looks a bit messy but she always looks absolutely amazing. She has a great style.
I'm sure lots would disagree with me but this is what I'd personally think of in terms of what the OP is talking about.
It's not just because she's beautiful and slim but her style is quite unique.

Fiona Shaw's character in Killing Eve as well. She oozes style to me.

I honestly think that is ultimately boils down to money!

Everyone that I know that looks great all the time has plenty of money behind them; it's far easier to look good if you have access to great clothes and shoes, can afford to have your hair/nails/facials done a lot, have a home gym, etc.

In the end, yes, it is money. Resources.
