where is wedding?
how formal?
what shape are you? (pear, hourglass, topheavy, no waist etc)
what is your vision for the day?
classic or outre?
train?

Dropdeadfred · 10/09/2007 10:58

wedding at a Gothic victorian mansion house in Wales
I am a hour glass type that seems to have lost her waist at the moment but I have 10 months to get it back!!
I want a 'real' dress not a Monsoon/M&S informal type...and I do like trains.
I wouldn't feel good having tight round the hips styles.

Thanks!

NappiesGalore · 10/09/2007 12:29

dress 4066 on hre(click the pic to enlarge)

or 3141

are these even close to what youd like? i like simple non fussy stuff myself (made extremely well using top quality ingredients of course)

NappiesGalore · 10/09/2007 12:31

ive never looked for/t wedding dresses in my life ... this must be a displacement activity...

Dropdeadfred · 10/09/2007 12:41

lol..I liked the second one..the first one was stylish but the skirt was too plain.

My arms are okay...not great but working on it...boobs are 38c...

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 10/09/2007 12:41

oh and thank you!!

OP posts:
NappiesGalore · 10/09/2007 12:49

38C!

hmph. [irrationally sulking tt your superior rack]

ok... second was good.

actually, now i thin of it, i did once nearly get married... and re the dress, i cut out and kept pics of every dress i liked, even ones i liked a bit of but notall... and then took them to a family friend, who is also a v talented maker of things inc clothes, and he workedout the most divine and beautiful dress esign fro that, specifically for me.

i almost went through with the wedding fr that dress

could you do that, do you think?

Dropdeadfred · 10/09/2007 12:53

possibly..LOL at you forgetting you almost get married..

OP posts:
NappiesGalore · 10/09/2007 12:55

yeah, mad eh? was a close one too.

best forgotten on the whole though. apart from that glorious dress

MrsBadger · 10/09/2007 13:02

4066 is fab
that neckline is wonderously flattering to all sorts of figures, also thus

you need to try some on in real life (take a Blunt Friend) as what looks shite on the model or the hanger may look fab on and vice versa.

NappiesGalore · 10/09/2007 13:06

yeah. im rubbish at that seeing something on the hanger and thinking its worth a try. some things i like best are things i would never have picked up myself.

Dropdeadfred · 10/09/2007 13:43

i really like corset backs to hold it in...

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 10/09/2007 13:45

laced corsets cheesey IMO
well-constructed dress will hold you in well even if zipped / buttoned

Maggie Sottero is the queen of populist corsetty dresses if you really want one.

Dropdeadfred · 10/09/2007 13:46

hmmm..worried about looking cheesy....

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 10/09/2007 13:47

tis only imo
you may lurve them
important thing is you are happy with it

Dropdeadfred · 10/09/2007 13:47

Maggie Sotttero..is that a shop?

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 10/09/2007 13:48

don;t want to look forced into it either....

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 10/09/2007 13:48

the dress..not the marriage!!!

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 10/09/2007 13:48

tis a designer
here
but i can't make site work

MrsBadger · 10/09/2007 13:52

this shape good for creating a waist
but neckline may be too Marilyn on large norks
