grey hair - what do we think...

I'm a bit fed up with high lights every few months - I was wondering whether to let the grey bits just blend in gradually - I haven't much, just the odd bits around hair line at front -my natural colour is mousey/fair ... would this be giving into middle age or could it look quite stylish (with a good hair cut) ?

Thank you kind lillibet and BecauseImworthit ( are you sticking with your name now ?) - thanks for saying my illusts are nice. I am always the oldest it seems - well,I exaggerate but I am obviously older than the mums of my son's classmates as far as I can tell - except for one who I was thrilled to find is about 3 or 4 yrs older and has turned into a very good friend - we have lots in common ! However, I feel quite happy with all the younger women I mix with - many of my friends are from ten yrs younger and don't feel odd, except when I really think about it. My dh is 7 yrs younger than me so maybe that accounts for it !! Grey hair hasn't really bothered me before ( on myself) it didn't appear until relatively recently but I'm prepared rto go with it for a bit !

there's NO WAY I'm letting my grey show, no, no, no, no, no!

dh has hair similar to MAS (not the style you understand he is fair and has quite a bit of grey but you just can't see it unless you get up close and examine his head He's 56 too!

maryann, I love your illustrations. Happy sort of stuff.

You look fab in your photo.

I just think you look a little bit fabber as a blond.

There. I said it. I think about letting the grey take over but colour just does look a little bit better than grey.

you're a celebrity health and beauty editor so I should heed your advice !!

pointy -thank you - it does a person good to hear such nice comments - usually I feel pretty self critical all the time -of both my work and appearance ! I think that I will speak to my hairdresser when I go for next appointment and see if we can do something that incorporates the grey with lighter bits or something...I don't think I want the mousy bits to come through as that is dull. I just fear frumpdom and invisibility !

you do seem to really suit blond

MaryAnnSingleton · 14/09/2007 10:12

Apparently Camilla Parker-Bowles has had her hair coloured white ! and Anna Ford is now not dyeing hers and allowing it to go grey, mind you they are a fair bit older than me !
