Warts and apple cider vinegar, now I have a white kneehole !

Following a thread on here where someone applied ACV to a piece of cotton wool, sellotaped in place, left alone and the wart came off in two weeks I thought I'd give it a try.
I have a small (5mm) hard wart that has been on my knee for over 8 years, I've tried every over the counter remedy, freezing it, duct tape, asking GP (big no from them as it's now a cosmetic procedure)
So 2 weeks ago I started the ACV. Stung a tiny bit but not that bad. Left it alone for 3 days at a time, removed and replaced "dressing".
On Saturday I took off the cotton wool and this thing came out, like a white lump, looked down and there was a 1cm wide hole in my knee, and then it started to bleed like mad!!
Now I have a kneehole Blush that is seemingly filled with white skin, all round the hole is scabby and horrible. It's a good few millimetres deep!
I don't know if the wart is actually gone, how can I tell? I think I burned the surrounding skin!

If there's a hole, it sounds as if the wart has fallen out. I had one on my finger that I treated with acv and it did the same. The "hole" gradually healed and filled in. I now have a very faint white scar but nothing too noticeable.

Bunnybigears · 02/03/2020 23:10

Sounds like you got the wart out so as long as you keep the area clean and dry it should all heal up.

pinkrocker · 02/03/2020 23:12

Ah, thank you for replying! I'm now wondering if I should continue with the ACV til the white bit has gone or is that actually newly formed skin? Also wondering if I should really just leave it alone now! Blush

Does it work on skin tags?

Lucked · 02/03/2020 23:14

I think leave it alone to heal.

thishouseisashittip · 02/03/2020 23:20

doolally1 I just tied I bit of cotton around the base of my skin tag, after about 9/10 days it shriveled up went black and dropped off 😂😊

I had one just under my knee and used ACV on it 2 years ago. It did exactly the same thing - fell out as a little lump. As soon as it did I stopped applying the ACV and treated it like any other wound, so kept it clean and dry, applied a small dressing for a few days and then left it exposed once initial healing had begun and took care not to knock the scab. It healed absolutely fine - a little red for six months or so and then gradually faded. You really can’t tell there was anything there anymore.

OP, you may have posted in Style and Beauty, but you have accidentally activated the Sporner Corner klaxon Grin

myidentitymycrisis · 03/03/2020 03:52

I used ACV on a skin tag in the same way and it totally did work
I would leave it now or just put some sudocrem or savlon on it. It made the skin around very red which took a few weeks to fade but all gone now.

pinkrocker · 03/03/2020 09:32

Ok...first pic is it underneath one of those corn plasters (you put plaster on, dip scrap of cotton wool in ACV, stick in hole, then put more cotton wool to pack out the hole, then you stick a waterproof plaster over the whole lot, including sellotape to make it airtight for 2-3 days before repeating)
2nd pic is today's offering, by! It's sore!
And yes I need to de-fuzz Blush
