Warts and apple cider vinegar, now I have a white kneehole !

Following a thread on here where someone applied ACV to a piece of cotton wool, sellotaped in place, left alone and the wart came off in two weeks I thought I'd give it a try.
I have a small (5mm) hard wart that has been on my knee for over 8 years, I've tried every over the counter remedy, freezing it, duct tape, asking GP (big no from them as it's now a cosmetic procedure)
So 2 weeks ago I started the ACV. Stung a tiny bit but not that bad. Left it alone for 3 days at a time, removed and replaced "dressing".
On Saturday I took off the cotton wool and this thing came out, like a white lump, looked down and there was a 1cm wide hole in my knee, and then it started to bleed like mad!!
Now I have a kneehole Blush that is seemingly filled with white skin, all round the hole is scabby and horrible. It's a good few millimetres deep!
I don't know if the wart is actually gone, how can I tell? I think I burned the surrounding skin!

@MaidenMotherCrone you want a scab picture! Hehe. Ok, here goes. I heal very quickly, so I'm expecting it to be gone next week!

Oh smashing Op. It's coming along very nicely 😁.

xJune88 · 04/03/2020 20:10

DH has brought some home for me the wart removal begins tonight! I'm excited Haha hope it works!

RUOKHon · 04/03/2020 20:36

Beautiful. You won’t even have a scar.

XJune, you need to start your own thread and take pics documenting EVERYTHING.

Goldenhedgehogs · 06/03/2020 22:09

Guys, thank you, you have made my Friday night!

BeeFarseer · 06/03/2020 22:23

This is the greatest thread in the history of Mumsnet threads.

I'M SO HAPPY.

Ginkypig · 07/03/2020 00:03

Oh goody an update Grin

The white has subsided (as will the red eventually) and it's filling in nicely, it definitely can't be your emergency malteser holder now.

pinkrocker · 07/03/2020 00:47

Grin it's subsided, but the skin has peeled off all around the hole. It's all still a bit sticky though!

Tea tree oil works on skin tags.

dudsville · 07/03/2020 07:41

I'm not here for the pics, but to learn how to do this for skin tags.tea tree oil did not help and I'm too squeamish and unable, given the location, to tie a thread. So I'll get some little corn plasters, and this "avc", can i get it at boots?

dudsville · 07/03/2020 07:41

Ah, silly me, apple cider vinegar!!!!

myidentitymycrisis · 07/03/2020 08:31

You can sometimes get it in Aldi or Morrison’s cheaper than a pharmacy @dudsville , if you’re near one. Has to have ‘mother’ in it

I have heaps of skin tags under my boobs and used it there

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 07/03/2020 10:42

Loads in my local Aldi, proper stuff with the mother, only about £4.

xJune88 · 07/03/2020 11:24

Day 3. Mines now completely flat and going black!

xJune88 · 07/03/2020 11:25

I've only been doing the vinegar over night then nail polish during day to suffocate (hard to do vinegar during day and cover with baby and handwashing)

Manyminieggs · 07/03/2020 11:47

Well this has made my day!

isthismylifenow · 07/03/2020 12:41

Ooh that looks a good one. It was normal looking though OP. Acv on my 10 year old plantar wart under foot and did it for 3 months. Yes it hurt like a b*tch during the night so the plaster would get yanked off. But it worked and the hole looked just like that. I carried on for a few more weeks just to be sure it was a gonner.

I'm trying to convince ds to do his but he doesn't seem keen, 🙈

pinkrocker · 07/03/2020 13:13

@xjune88 you're right it needs to be smothered, with no air getting to it. If you can cover it with a plaster then sellotape round the edges, leaving it totally alone for 3 days if you can (not getting it wet is hard, you need to bath, not shower!) it's really satisfying when you remove the plasters and a big lump comes out! It's something to look forward to! Grin

I'm excited to kill the bloody thing!!

Lostmyunicorn · 07/03/2020 14:05

For skin tags tie a thread right to the base trim the ends so it’s not noticeable, leave for a week or so and it will just fall off. It cuts the blood supply so they just die off.

For the PP with the enormous verruca, check if your local pharmacy has a podiatrist who visits and go get it treated. The longer you leave them the deeper the root gets and the longer and more painful it is to remove.

MaidenMotherCrone · 07/03/2020 20:04

@pinkrocker sounds like a lovely bit of moist yum Grin

pinkrocker · 07/03/2020 20:18

Haha it's definitely that Grin
