Warts and apple cider vinegar, now I have a white kneehole !

Following a thread on here where someone applied ACV to a piece of cotton wool, sellotaped in place, left alone and the wart came off in two weeks I thought I'd give it a try.
I have a small (5mm) hard wart that has been on my knee for over 8 years, I've tried every over the counter remedy, freezing it, duct tape, asking GP (big no from them as it's now a cosmetic procedure)
So 2 weeks ago I started the ACV. Stung a tiny bit but not that bad. Left it alone for 3 days at a time, removed and replaced "dressing".
On Saturday I took off the cotton wool and this thing came out, like a white lump, looked down and there was a 1cm wide hole in my knee, and then it started to bleed like mad!!
Now I have a kneehole Blush that is seemingly filled with white skin, all round the hole is scabby and horrible. It's a good few millimetres deep!
I don't know if the wart is actually gone, how can I tell? I think I burned the surrounding skin!

Ooh that is WEIRD. Well done, OP!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 03/03/2020 13:43

Very nice !!!!!

I think that'll just heal up if you leave it alone.

TheFaerieQueene · 03/03/2020 13:44

@pinkrocker I can see a smiley face above the plaster on your first picture 😆

spiderlight · 03/03/2020 13:46

Oooooooh! That reminds me of DS's verruca that came out whole and left a perfectly round crater in his foot. It was lovely! His bled like buggery for about five minutes, then healed perfectly and never came back.

BoreOfWhabylon · 03/03/2020 13:51

Oh, that's lovely!

That should heal up just fine, in my ex-professional opinion.

pinkrocker · 03/03/2020 13:52

@spiderlight I'm hoping that will be the case here, it has an "airing" plaster over it, rather than a full-on sealing one, so hopefully it will dry out.
I'll update later this week so you can all view the scabby bits forming Grin

🤣🤣 the white part just looks like wet skin if you see what I mean let it dry it will fine

namechangedforthis1122 · 03/03/2020 14:46

Does this work for veruccas?

GinaCarbonara · 03/03/2020 14:56

@spiderlight what worked for his verruca? I've got an absolutely enormous one that is like a cockroach and won't ever die

spiderlight · 03/03/2020 16:37

@GinaCarbonara - it was a good few years back now so I can't remember, sorry!! They were plasters of some kind and you had to file the dead skin off every night. I recall it took quite a while and then suddenly one day I took the plaster off and this perfect little cone came with it. I'll have a poke round the medicine cupboard later and see if we still have them and let you know the name.

pinkrocker · 03/03/2020 16:56

@namechangedforthis1122 I reckon this ACV technique would work, it was dead easy! I bought the little pink circle things off eBay for 99p and I'm sure you can get from £land. The ACV was £6 though, you need the one that has The Mother in it apparently. That was from H&B.
(Reminds me, I told the shop assistant what I was buying it for and she was like Hmm !!)

Mine is like mt Vesuvius. It's on the outer edge of my foot and hurts like hell to walk on. I think mine would be more like the iceberg that sunk the titanic if it ever fell out Sad

namechangedforthis1122 · 03/03/2020 17:59

@pinkrocker haha I will keep my mouth shut when I buy it then. Thanks so much. I have a Tiny verruca that is preventing me getting a pedicure Angry but since I got it I've been pregnant-breastfeeding-pregnant-breastfeeding so can't try any chemical remedies. Great pic by the way Smile

doolally1 · 03/03/2020 18:00

@thishouse

Did it leave a mark, it's on my neck & quite big.

Ginkypig · 03/03/2020 21:51

Ooh absolutely lovely!

The white skin around it will definitely calm down and go back to normal colour once the air gets to it And the hole will fill in nicely.

pinkrocker · 03/03/2020 22:57

Hope so @Ginkypig cos I have a hoofing great crater in me knee right now! Grin Grin

How joyous! I got a massive verruca off my daughter's foot years ago with gaffer tape, the 'root' eventually came out along with so much blood! The hole was about the size of a 5p! Joy!

Ginkypig · 04/03/2020 01:10

It will but it might take a good while as it needs to heal from the bottom outward.

Just make sure you keep it clean and free from infection etc

Sickoffamilydrama · 04/03/2020 07:25

I would put a hydrocolloid plaster on that, some of the blister plasters are or you can buy bigger versions.
Then the key is to just leave it alone for a few days one thing that often happens is people change dressings to often and actually pull off the new skin everytime they change dressings.

thishouseisashittip · 04/03/2020 11:47

@doolally1 it has healed up really well to be fair. I am so pleased with how it has turned out (how sad am I?! 😁)

thishouseisashittip · 04/03/2020 11:50

@doolally1 have tried to post a pic but won't do it for som reason 🤔

thishouseisashittip · 04/03/2020 11:54

Ahhh looks like I couldn't do it from the app👍🏻
