The December birchbox looks good, mainly because of the bag. I forgot to cancel in time so I'll receive that one, but have cancelled now as I prefer GB overall.

diamondsandrose · 03/12/2019 18:11

Yes keeping an eye on Debenhams in case it goes lower , somebody sound the klaxon if it does!
Mind you suppose at £45 it's only £2 or so per product... Hmm

KTD27 · 03/12/2019 20:00

@TattiePants it didn’t work for me but CYBER40 is working and is a 40% discount so all good!

toffee1000 · 03/12/2019 20:05

Does anyone else have a Rituals calendar? I like the gifts so far.

Butterymuffin · 03/12/2019 21:26

My two mystery Glossyboxes arrived today - I got two different ones, June and July 2018. One had the full size mascara in that @LEELULUMPKIN got too, and the other had a Nip and Fab glycolic scrub in and an eye cream - so pleased with those for £10 plus the other items: coconut conditioner, hair mask etc. So I feel like I got a good result for my gamble.

Is there a thread on here to discuss our current beauty subscription boxes, usually? Quite a few of us have them at the moment as well as calendars.

TattiePants · 03/12/2019 23:06

Thanks @KTD27, the men's Christmas stocking already had 30% off but that code gave me the extra 10% discount. Plus a further 10% through Top Cash back. Great bargain!

whyamidoingthis · 04/12/2019 00:06

I ordered the women's stocking last thursday and it still hasn't been dispatched. I got 2 emails telling me they're sorry it's been delayed. I'm just hoping they aren't out of stock.

Bansku19 · 04/12/2019 08:00

Debenhams calendar is in and out of stock at the moment. The status seems change frequently.

TattiePants · 04/12/2019 08:15

@whyamidoingthis they are still selling the women’s stocking so hopefully they’ve just been really busy with their Black Friday offers and dispatching is taking longer.

whyamidoingthis · 04/12/2019 08:29

@TattiePants - Hopefully. It claimed to be in stock when I ordered but it's now saying Stock will be despatched to you as soon as we receive it from our supplier.

LEELULUMPKIN · 04/12/2019 08:59

I know it is early doors yet but for those of you who have multiple calendars, who is winning so far?

The 4 I have are all new to me so I had no expectations from previous calendars, but here is my rating after day 4.

  1. Holland & Barratt
  2. M&S
  3. And it's a tie between Liberty & Look Fantastic in third place.

I am really interested to hear your opinions :)

Topttumps · 04/12/2019 09:38

Hi does anyone have the NO7 one who can tell me what is in door 4 please as mine was empty. Not impressed.
Thank you

LEELULUMPKIN · 04/12/2019 10:23

That's pants Topttumps! Sorry I don't have it but could it have fallen out into another days hole iyswim?

BlaueLagune · 04/12/2019 11:27

I have the Arran Sense of Scotland advent calendar and it's really good so far. It was good value for money, too (though I didn't buy it, my husband bought it for me!)

Got a shower gel today which I've used and it had a glorious scent.

TattiePants · 04/12/2019 11:32

@Topttumps it's a pair of tweezers. They look quite thin on the unboxing video so they might have fallen into another hole.

CountryCob · 04/12/2019 17:01

Hello leelumpkin, I am saving M&S for January but out of glossybox and debenhams glossybox is winning hands down for being more beautiful as a box, easier to open and having more top end products, might do Holland and barret next year as it seems to be popular with those that do. Considering debenhams originally retailed at £90 and glossybox was £80 to start with or £70 for subscribers I think glossybox is making debenhams look expensive for what it is. Happy to have 2 to open each day. Have had ridiculous day - punctured car wheel yesterday, today the spare - which did look doggy when fitted but was serviceable was completely flat and needed to be in work with lots of people waiting / expecting that but no public transport options as so rural. Managed to get local garage’s courtesy car and make it on with seconds to spare waiting to hear now if will have car tomorrow. I think I need beauty advent to keep smiling!!

Writersblock2 · 04/12/2019 17:17

My order so far:

  1. H&B (by a fair bit) - great products, great sizes, substantial calendar, amazing price. Love everything about it so far.
  2. Glossybox - most beautiful calendar of the bunch (very classy), mostly lovely products (one “filler” type), feels luxe
  3. M&S - one amazing product, a few so-so (Nothing crap so far), pretty cheap
  4. Latest in Beauty - one pretty good item, couple of alright items, another so-so. Don’t hate it, don’t love it so far (for the price).
  5. Grazia - doesn’t look as classy, mostly okay-ish items so far with one cf size thrown in. So far, glad I got it on a pretty heavy discount.

Damn it, DH said he'd buy me the debenhams one to cheer me up but he'd wait til home from work, it's now sold out 😫

Writersblock2 · 04/12/2019 17:20

@CountryCob I’m so sorry to hear that and I hope the rest of your week gets better. I feel your pain. DH and I got back from Florida a week ago (amazing holiday) and everything has been shit since. Two of our three dogs have been ill (one with a substantial vet bill), my workplace has turned to a horrible bullying, backstabbing mess, and we had a burst pipe last night which meant a night shivering and with little sleep as I was so paranoid I’d wake up to a collapsed ceiling. Thankfully house is still under warranty with developer and someone came out first thing, but now we are living with ripped up floorboards and soggy carpet as we wait for it to settle. Thankfully we have heating so I’m considering myself fortunate tonight!

Maybe I should get ASOS instead

FatimaLovesBread · 04/12/2019 17:37

I did the glossybox black friday subscription where I got one months sub for £5 and then bought a mystery box for £5. Should I have received a monthly box? Or will it wait for the December one?
Post came today and it was just the Mystery box

Bippety · 04/12/2019 17:39

The mystery boxes do arrive seperately. You should receive the November box, although they did run out so December will be your first one, which starts dispatching on the 5th. Their live chat is good if you wanted to ask them to make sure :) what month mystery box did you get?

ajandjjmum · 04/12/2019 17:39

I got ASOS for DD (which she opened in November!!!) and loved it!

CountryCob · 04/12/2019 18:03

Writersblock that sounds like a shocking week you poor thing, we have 3 dogs too is hard looking after one with the others running around them glad you have heating, roll on weekend!

FatimaLovesBread · 04/12/2019 18:09

Ahh fab @bippity that's good to know, might pop on chat just to check though. My mystery box seems to be a mix up of other months, been trawling Instagram and there's no month the same. The things in it seem to be from different months. Quite happy with it though, and it has some of the nip fab scrub in which I'm running out of
