I really need some proper big knickers.

OK, so very little style or beauty involved but I currently have a drawer full of ageing M&S midi, a sort of halfway house and, apart from them getting shabby, I'm tired of them falling down. I have no arse and a bit of a belly, not overweight but a typical menopausal apple. I've tentatively ordered myself some sloggi briefs, but they're pretty expensive and, from what I've read, not as good as they used to be.

So, hit me with your less extortionate recommendations for some good cotton belly warmers! (please :))

You'd not lose those in a sea of laundry @drspouse!

So far I'm liking the playtex. I sent a pair through the normal laundry unscathed.

Picked up a pack in primark, yesterday, but yet to try them out. Tried and failed to find some in sainsburys, this afternoon, when I scouted around that area with a view to how to use up every pound of my double up voucher. I found bras, slippers and socks and loads of jammies but the knickers were too well hidden.

Another vote for sainsbury full brief multipack

rbe78 · 06/11/2019 10:45

If you want big knickers, but with a bit of soemthing about them, check out Kiss Me Deadly - they specialise in retro-esque lingerie and love a big knicker!

M&S high legs. The best.

PickAChew · 06/11/2019 13:58

I'd scare the mice in the middle of the night, wearing those @rbe78

And I definitely need to find where the hell Sainsburys are hiding theirs, now, as I've done the cull. Including some markses high leg that I always hated. Off to do a bit of dusting.

I really need some proper big knickers.

My pants have arrived!

I really need some proper big knickers.
StarlightLady · 07/11/2019 12:00

@rbe78 . Lovely! I’d wear those. A tad pricey though.

AgeShallNotWitherHer · 07/11/2019 22:38

Love those colours!
I'm well oberdue an underwear overhaul so have been reading this thread with interest. Thx for all the suggestions

GabsAlot · 08/11/2019 17:48

sainsbury for me and you can order online now through argos. I found primark ones fell apart after 2 wash so even though it's cheaper you end up buying more often

How about Pico pants?

Chickoletta · 08/11/2019 20:08

Another vote for M&S. Not sure how to drescribe my faves but they have just a little bit of lace around the legs and are the most comfy thing I’ve ever owned. I’m a size 12/14 apple shape.

Proseccoagain · 08/11/2019 20:27

Sainsbury's full briefs here too, as good as, and cheaper than M&S.

clareken260 · 08/11/2019 21:37

Have you tried Bon Marchè?

PickAChew · 08/11/2019 21:42

They're fab, @drspouse

The primark ones I've bought fall short of my belly button but behave themselves with my annoying joggers. Will have to see how well they wash and dry. Some of the ones I consigned to the duster pile were over a decade old.

PickAChew · 08/11/2019 21:44

Bon marche has gone into administration and the last one I walked past was closing down. They never struck me as very good at natural fibres.

I find the primark ones do tend to unravel after a few washes but i just cut off the loose threads and keep using them i have some that are about 6yrs old from primark and the quality difference been those and my most recent pack is noticeably lower as with most things in primark these days the quality has just diminished

Kidlacky · 09/11/2019 08:39

What ? Apple Catchers? Why? You want a quick divorce?

Boireannachlaidir · 09/11/2019 09:23

Why would wearing comfortable knickers result in divorce? if your DP was the type to divorce you over not wearing "skimpy sexy" knickers then good riddance.

OP I don't rate sloggis, mine didn't seem to last very long. Like PP I get on find with supermarket full briefs, the Tesco ones are quite vintage vibe and the Sainsbury’s ones are good too. Both stay put and are very comfortable.

@Graphista I don't know if the supermarkets above let you order clothing for delivery as well as food. M&S deliver and they've got these

lynnielou · 09/11/2019 10:54

I buy ten cate secrets full briefs. These are my forever pants. You can buy online at Debenhams. No vpl, they stay put, very comfy and you can even buy a matching vest!

Oldraver · 09/11/2019 11:46

I'm a fan of big knickers but can't have elastic on the legs as it irritates. So I've been wearing shorts... and they ping down my belly Sad

I would love a combination of shorts legs but high waist and cotton

bpirockin · 09/11/2019 14:59

Sloggi fan here.

TileFloors · 09/11/2019 18:17

I found the primark ones fell apart after a couple of washes too.

I tend to wear uniqlo or M&S either microfibre or cotton/lace ones in the daytime, and Tesco’s cotton mix ones at night or for lounging.
