I seem to remember maybe last year a thread in the run up to Christmas called Christmas Princessing. Is there one running this year? Would anyone be kind enough to point me in the direction of it please as I can’t find this year’s via search Blush

OP posts:

I'm in!

My list is:

Drink 1 ltr of water a day. (on top of many herbal teas).
Tanning moisturiser once a week.
Do own nails once a week.
Do pedicure at home once a fortnight.
Limit any junk food and make an effort to drop half a stone within four weeks, starting today. Starting weight today 10st 3lb.
Take full complement of vitamins once a day.

Probably I'll be the only one doing this - but I'm aiming to report in here daily to keep myself on track even if I'm only reporting to myself... Grin

Gilbert82 · 04/11/2019 12:33

I did a face mask and used a nice facial oil last night. Need to buy a body scrub and start using that as part of my Sunday pamper night.

DaisyTulip · 05/11/2019 18:53

Have managed to drink 1ltr water and take all my vitamins today. 1lb off from yesterday. I really need to do a pedicure and paint my nails properly but realistically that won't happen until Friday. I'm going to add in "asleep by 11.30pm" as well - I wake up at 7 so that's a good 7.5hrs.

Did manage to tweeze my eyebrows today too which really needed doing.

Want to fit into last winter's clothes when I was 9 1/2 stone...

How is everyone else getting on?

Ninjakittysmellz · 05/11/2019 19:32

I took a sleeping tablet last night so 7 hours sleep for me (I’m usually 3-5 Sad) woke up knackered but took my vitamins and did my babyliss big hair. I’ve just washed my face and put night cream on so feeling like I’ve done the basics if nothing else!

I need to do my nails again too, but I think I will wait till Thursday for that as I need them to look okay for Friday as I’m at a funeral.

I want to do some mental self care things too if I can - reading a bit of my book, sorting out my finances, tidying my floordrobe..... but for now I’m just taking it step by step and keeping up the vitamins!

I name changed by the way, I’m the one who binge-opened my M&S calendar early Blush

Karcheer · 05/11/2019 22:15

What vitamins are people taking?
I’m sure I’m peri menopausal and exhausted all the time.

Karcheer · 05/11/2019 22:16

I got batteries for my scales, that’s a step forward...

BanKittenHeels · 05/11/2019 23:20

I’m joining in, I love a Princessing thread.

  • I want to get my dry hair sorted out.
  • Sort my grey out - not just cover up with dark box dye but properly get it tended to.
  • Get back on the Korean Italy Towel bandwagon.
  • Get back to the Philips Lumea.
  • Have a couple of facials before Christmas
  • Tooth whitening toothpaste
  • Drink more water
  • Weekly hydrating face masks
  • 2 hair cuts before Xmas
  • Get a manicure every 2 weeks (can’t have painted nails for work but love having them shaped and pushed back.)
ememem84 · 06/11/2019 07:00

Had my nails done yesterday. Yay!!! And am trying to do a nice face every day (on mat leave and have a ton of make up and products to use so why not?!) and then remember to remove make up and moisturise face before bed.

Re vitamins - I take a boots multivitamin and probiotic. And occasionally some additional vitamin d.

I drank a lot of water yesterday so need to keep that up.

Gilbert82 · 06/11/2019 07:08

Which Korean Italy towels do you use? I’ve not tried them but need to start exfoliating again

Karcheer · 06/11/2019 09:40

Got my vitamix working so had a smoothie this morning for breakfast.

kjhkj · 06/11/2019 09:47

I'm in. I've already started trying to lose half a stone.

My aims are:

complete the forms etc for my online stylist consultation (I really should just do it but I don't want to take the photos that have to be sent with it)

keep on using up all my nice little products (type that come with beauty advent calendars and as free sameple). My aim is to use up as many as possible since otherwise stuff gets thrown away before it has a chance of beautifying me.

Sort out my dry, split hair.

drink more water

start my online yoga again. This should not be difficult but for some reason it is.

start using my daylight lamp again. It really improves my mood.

increase my vitamin intake

do my nails and a face mask every week.

I've also bought a couple of new clothing items recently which is unusual for me and I probably shouldn't have done it before my stylist consultation. Lovely leather skirt, nice silk dress and a cashmere hoodie. I'm aiming to build my wardrobe around them. My aim is classic, long lasting clothing in good materials rather than endless cheap crap.

eatsleepmoverepeat · 06/11/2019 10:58

Joining in please.

I happen to hit a significant big birthday in 50 days time and I look and feel the worst I ever have (in my defence I’ve been ill for a while).

I spent quite a bit of time yesterday organising my beauty stash and picking out bits to use in November before advent madness hits (I love a good Beauty advent but Ive ended up with 3).

I’ve bought hair dye and plan to use it this evening while I have a think about my list. We’ll ignore the Danish pastry I’ve just eaten for breakfast.

AskMeHow · 06/11/2019 11:46

Good idea. I shall join you.

  • moisturiser after showering - and remember to put on fake tan occasionally
  • sort my feet out, the dry skin is horrendous
  • weekly session of eyebrows/moustache taming
  • get hair cut, I have very thick hair and it looks like a lion's mane at the minute
DontFundHate · 06/11/2019 11:51

@Aderyn19 @Gilbert82 maybe others too? Why are you taking iron? Is it on prescription? It's not good to take too much iron in supplements are we should be able to get most of our iron from our diets? Hope you don't mind my post it just worries me that lots of people are taking supplements unnecessarily which can be so dangerous

DontFundHate · 06/11/2019 11:55

Im onboard too!

Exercise 3 x a week
Eat my 5 a day
Avoid sugar - 80/20 rule, I'm trying to work it as 6 days with sugar and 24 without so that I have a "rule" but flexibility as to when I have the sugary treats, it's making me think about whether having the sugar is nice enough to be worth it or whether to wait for another day with a nicer treat!
Pelvic floor!
Elasticizer once a week
Trying to religiously use my expensive skincare so that it works
Waxing face once a week!

Im going to RTFT for more ideas

I used a habit checker app to keep track

Gilbert82 · 06/11/2019 12:11

The multi vitamin I bought includes iron so that’s why I’m taking it, although I’ve forgotten the past few days!

ememem84 · 06/11/2019 13:31

Been out for a walk with dd. Popped her in the pram and walked round the lanes here for an hour and half. 5km walked. 6500 steps ish so far.

650 ml water (one bottle) down. Another two to go.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/11/2019 18:16

Shakespearesglobe · 06/11/2019 21:44

I’m in too please. Need to lose a stone and look rubbish. Trying to sort out house too as we are hosting

Shakespearesglobe · 06/11/2019 21:45

How often are you meant to do facials (as in the paid for types?). Would two before Christmas be overdoing it? (Grasping at straws here as lines seem to have appeared overnight Shock

ememem84 · 06/11/2019 22:34

I’ve just weighed myself. Am 75.5kg. I am 5’9/10 though. And have recently had a baby (well in July...) but still that’s heavier than I want to be. So. Am going to work on this.

Cut out snacks - no biscuits crisps or sweets.
Cut down booze - maybe go no booze. (Not that I drink a lot but maybe a little too often)
Walk more. I walked with dd today. Going to do the same tomorrow for longer.

BanKittenHeels · 07/11/2019 00:02

Which Korean Italy towels do you use? I’ve not tried them but need to start exfoliating again

I just get them from Amazon, link on this thread.

DaisyTulip · 07/11/2019 00:06

Sounds like lots of good progress here! We will be actual princesses by Christmas at this rate Grin

Another 1lb off this morning although I know I've undone that this evening by the cupcake and the packet of crisps I had. Still, it could have been worse!

Had a couple of vitamins (Perfectil Extra Hair & Nails for someone who was asking, usually I also try to have Vit E, Vit C, Vit D and omega 3-6-9) and a large glass of water so not quite there but not bad. Managed to sleep before 11.30 last night more or less but tonight I've broken that, but it was a late finish at work!

So not a terrible day of princessing, but going to make a more determined effort tomorrow. Went to Boots and got some nice new moisturiser and a new nail varnish so will use that tomorrow. Also going to add in putting on hand cream every day, my hands are so dry.

PersonaNonGarter · 07/11/2019 22:03

I am excited to report that since my last post I have:

  • bought AND consumed two days of 7 Seas Omega plus multi vitamins.
  • used my fake tan twice
  • used body oil twice
  • done a hair mask

Oh yeah, baby! Next up - nails.
