WWW's 6 week 10 year younger plan WEEK 1 with renewed summer vigour Aug - Sept, 2 weeks into term

WideWebWitch · 05/08/2007 20:50

Hello! This is week one of the SEVENTH WWW 10year younger boot camp of 2007

( how did that happen?)

Anyone can join, we promise it works and you will feel and look better - and maybe younger - if you follow these rules.

This is about being healthy and feeling and looking better as a resuklt. It's not a diet (although weight loss does seem to occur fairly frequently)

THE RULES ARE:

  • Sunscreen at all times, especially in this heat
  • No or little booze in the week. Wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can. Many of us have an Omron pedometer
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream/foot cream too, we recommend Flexitol, which is fantastic stuff
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

Anyone who feels like it, post how you've been feeling since doing this and why you want to keep doing it. Add what you want to achieve at the end of it too if you want to.

Here's mine:
I want to be a size I'm happier with by ds's tenth birthday, which is 2 months away. I want to not want to cry when I see the photos.

oh, and the nz peso is now worth 38 pence, for exchange rate calculation purposes.

(this is undoubtedly the wrong thread to be putting this, but oh well)

tortoiseSHELL · 09/08/2007 17:30

I've stuck a picture of dd and ds1 on dd's birthday on the profile (ignore the fire engine, that's for another thread!!!)

WideWebWitch · 09/08/2007 18:02

Batters, snort at your dp and the rat, ha ha ha!

Well done rosemerta!

Blimey winnie, that's fantastic about the walking but not so about the date.

Legalalien, no idea about juicers but it sounds like a good idea.

Marina, at your dd! Well done on walking and budgie food and I bet you're right aobut the rat and the dd!

Ooh arfy, will lool at that in a moment and pics if they're still there.

Right, I AM going to drink wine, SHITE day at work. But first I must look at the pictures!

WideWebWitch · 09/08/2007 18:04

Arfy, LOVELY pics, you are very thin and glamorous!I'm very envious of your location, I reckon I could handle living in Sydney.

WideWebWitch · 09/08/2007 18:05

OMG, that resort looks AMAZING, the menu looks scrumptious.

WideWebWitch · 09/08/2007 18:08

tortoiseSHELL · 09/08/2007 18:29

Thanks www! They grow frighteningly fast don't they!

Anyone fancying a laugh at Bush/Blair's expense, have a look at this

motherinferior · 09/08/2007 18:33

You're babes

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 09/08/2007 19:59

Just a quick hello. I'm so pleased I finally got around to having my hair cut and coloured - can hair really be this sleek and shiny? - only until I wash and dry it myself!

I have to get back to the kitchen - I have a mountain of plums and apples to deal with and a neighbour has kindly bought round 8 trout which will need gutting & cleaning.

Will look at all these photo's tomorrow.

winnie · 09/08/2007 20:12

Having had only a few hours sleep due to drinking coffee with date at some ungodly hour I am now wilting. Am planning to do some yoga tonight though. I am really noticing a difference to my body shape and that is very motivating although,as you all know, I've a long way to go (yawn)

Have had another good day bootcampwise but will be glad when the holidays are over and work returns to normal (hrs all over the place, everyone else on annual leave).

can i join?
I have seen these threads before, but they've always been about 3 weeks in already when i've spotted them!

I HAVE to get rid of my baby belly - DS2 is 1 in sept, i have no excuse anymore.
I am already using flexitol and recommend it to everyone i meet (whether they have cracked heel or not).
however i am sitting here with my glass of Magners, but DH has gone ou to the pub and left me and I find it very hard not to drink if he's gone to the pub as i feel like i'm missing out....

Marina · 09/08/2007 21:42

Welcome Mabel! If gossip on this thread was aerobic in effect, we'd all have bods like supermodels by now, but hey ho , we do try
PMSL at your working class forebears being disgusted at your poncetastic lifestyle sobernow...my great-grandfather on my dad's side was one of those mad rural placard-waving non-conformist preachers a la Cold Comfort Farm. He'd have been very underwhelmed by my bleating about the lack of decent pesto in Ilfracombe Tescos recently
Those are lovely chickens TS oh, and the children aren't bad either

tortoiseSHELL · 09/08/2007 21:58

WideWebWitch · 09/08/2007 22:45

lol at middle class thread
I'm amazed I could type at all last night, Mr Pinot and Mr Grigio came to our house. I had a terrible day boot camp wise:

granola
peach
American Hot
1 large glass of red
1 small glass of red
Banofee pie
ALL AT LUNCHTIME! and I don't usually drink at lunchtime at work but it was a VERY bad day.
then home for
noodles, prawns and green beans with sesame oil, chilli, garlic, soy, lime, it was lovely
Mr Pinot and Mr Grigio
Stilton
Port
not enough water
bed at about 11
Feel a leetle fragile this am

OP posts:
WideWebWitch · 10/08/2007 08:45

And welcome Mabel.
As you may gather I regularly make everyone else feel and look virtuous by falling off the boot camp wagon and posting about it

Much the same here. Really hungry all day yesterday which meant I was picking at bits and pieces. Went out to a friend's for supper which was not too bad calorie wise but did drink wine again. No exercise.

My hair cut is very nice although a litle too styled for my liking. You can't really tell until you've done it yourself though can you? I really like the colour as it looks just like mine without the grey - nobody would guess I'd been done.

Off to London today en famille. Will walk lots especially after going to Borough Market.

Winnie - sorry to hear about the date but congrats on breaking through another weight-loss barrier. You are so focussed and deterrmined - can you send those vibes my way please?

WWW - hope the fragile feeling wears off quickly without recourse to bacon butties dripping with butter (my cure of choice with a glass of diet coke).

Marina · 10/08/2007 09:38

Miss Rose de Bordeaux stepped by just after I quit this thread last night too www
Although as a mere amachewer in certain company on here, I do wish to point out that I was bladdered after two glasses, what a lightweight. Then I decided I really needed to check for myself whether Matt Damon's ripped 90s LA torso is distractingly anachronistic in The Talented Mr Ripley . It's such an excellent film I didn't get to bed until far too late!
So did lots of righteous walking this morning and will do more of same at lunchtime.

WideWebWitch · 10/08/2007 09:39

Marina, you are indeed a lightweight and an amachewer. That's a compliment btw, wish I was!

Marina · 10/08/2007 09:41

blimey, I just spotted port on www's list of goodies!
So sorry work is so rubbish atm www, most hearty commiserations. I have been summoned in for A Talk sometime next week and I am bricking it already.
Yoyo, have a great day at lovely Borough Market (not that far from my workplace and far more tempting on a sunny day) and you might want to steer clear of the delicious aromas wafting from the rare breeds burger/wrap stalls, the fast food there is AWESOME. Enjoy!
