Was googling that spotty dress (which weirdly I’ve only spotted in the wild twice) and came across an article for the next big Zara dress... got caught in the hype... it was out of stock...checked again today... and seem to have ordered the last one in stock! Yay me!!
Maybe.
Now what the eff to I wear it with? Help me style it please!

Depends - dressy or casual?

TheNavigator · 05/08/2019 15:07

A wimple?

Sorry, these big floaty tents and not fore me - too 1980s Mothercare for my taste. I never got the hype about the spotty dress either.

Thinkle · 05/08/2019 15:17

Hi Aqua, definitely casual / weekend wear

Hey Navigator, off to google A wimple now...

I bought the spotty Zara dress & a couple more so I could dye them at home because it worked really well for me - I’m pear shaped, tall-ish & a size 10 & it looked awesome with a belt. I want clothes I can just chuck on & feel good in with minimum effort (young DC). It can be worn in the summer with trainers or sandals (which is how I style it now) or in autumn/winter with layered tops underneath & boots. I may be a sheep buying into the hype but if it didn’t work for me I’d return it.

Now that new dress... is waaaay too much for me. The sleeves are huge. I’d be dipping them in my dinner. Not for me I’m afraid.

Miseryisabutterfly · 05/08/2019 15:29

I love it! I want

Miseryisabutterfly · 05/08/2019 15:30

I also have the spotty dress. How does it take to dye @happytobemrsg? I’m worried about the stitching

happytobemrsg · 05/08/2019 15:40

Absolutely wonderfully @Miseryisabutterfly!! I’ve dyed one dark grey & another in khaki (fab colours for when it’s colder & white isn’t as appealing to me!). The stitching stays white but honestly I don’t even notice it. Here is the grey (please ignore the bump)

Miseryisabutterfly · 05/08/2019 15:57

Oh it looks fab! I think I might do the same. I love the white but I’m embarrassed to wear it now sadly!

AngeloMysterioso · 05/08/2019 16:25

Lord, it’s ghastly...

happytobemrsg · 05/08/2019 16:33

Don’t be embarrassed @Miseryisabutterfly. I wore it to work last week & got so many compliments 😊 I wore it with black converse & a leopard print belt. if you feel good in it what does it matter?!

Alsohuman · 05/08/2019 17:49

It’s not ghastly. It’s very nice and it suits everyone, whatever their size, shape or age. Zara’s got a winner there, they need to keep making it in different fabrics.

Fazednotc0nfused · 05/08/2019 17:59

I’ve got my eye on this Zara dress still:

m.zara.com/uk/en/long-printed-dress-p03198242.html?v1=21476737&v2=1180356

Was sold out for ages but now back in stock. Anyone got it?

I’ve seen a couple of people in the white / black spots and really don’t understand what the fuss is all about ......

81Byerley · 05/08/2019 18:18

Bed socks and a fluffy dressing gown?

TheNavigator · 05/08/2019 18:25

That is just not true. I am a tiny little middle aged woman and that dress would trail along the ground, swamp me and make me look like a wierdly aged child who'd raided the grown ups dressing up box.

SoupDragon · 05/08/2019 18:29

No it doesn't.

Supersimpkin · 05/08/2019 18:37

I've seen That Dress daily and I love it. So cool, in all senses.

OP - niiiice. Sneakers, a silk scarf twisted up somewhere to balance up the loose.

ZaZathecat · 05/08/2019 18:39

Wow! That reminds me of the famous pink M&S dress everyone on MN was laughing at last summer.

happytobemrsg · 05/08/2019 18:41

I ordered this one today @Fazednotc0nfused which you might like

Oops, I thought couldn't post, kept getting the error message

Thinkle · 05/08/2019 19:30

Thanks @Supersimpkin, not sure what you mean with the scarf but I agree with trainers. Also thinking chunky gold jewellery of some kind.
@happytobemrsg, that’s lovely too, how did I not see that??!
@everyone else... loving the debate about the spotty dress (I actually like it too but have decided not to get it)

@TheNavigator, it sounds as if you haven’t tried it on. I’m 5’2” and it hits just above my ankle. I’m 66 today and according to my very straight talking friends it makes me look cool and elegant. That includes the one who once described a pair of my boots as “ageing hooker” to prompt their return.
