@SoyYo that’s interesting about the moon and emotions. I don’t know much about that stuff and I know you do, but I had a horrible day yesterday and felt rubbish. Was upset with dh for minor things and felt he was not ‘looking after’ me enough. But then I started to realise that I want and crave a bit of mothering. My mother is still alive but we have no relationship really and she hasn’t been there for me for many many years.

Ninkaninus · 17/07/2019 16:34

Thank you soups

I have done some things in the house to try to work my way into feeling better and it’s helped a little.

Now that it’s sold out and I no longer have to pine for it (I had to choose between it and the shoes), isn’t this the cutest little bag? I really wanted it. I think I’ll keep an eye out on eBay for it.

Dinkydoos · 17/07/2019 17:42

What a fab bag @nink!
Hope you are looking after yourself today though and feeling a bit brighter
Came in to say huge thanks to @soyo. The bargain bikini came and am over the moon with it. The top esp is so flattering and does big favours for the ‘empty’ tops of boobs I seem to have these days. Pert I am not...
Anyway love it so thanks very much esp as go on holiday Saturday!!

twosoups1972 · 17/07/2019 17:50

@Ninkaninus that is a lovely bag and a great price. R&B bags are great quality.

I haven't bought much recently after a few successful dress purchases from Boden. And I bagged a pair of sandals from Dune that I had had my eye on, they went down to half price Smile

After thinking I should probably stay on the bench for a while I bought this dress from Mango:

shop.mango.com/gb/women/dresses-short/floral-wrap-dress_51003051.html?c=99&n=1&s=search

I didn't have high hopes for it as wrap dresses usually don't fit my boobs properly but it's actually really nice on.

Ninkaninus · 17/07/2019 17:53

dinky and soups I agree, it’s a fabulous little bag. Unfortunately I missed 😭😭😭 out as I was dithering between that and the shoes down thread as it had to be one or the other. I went for the shoes which were no good and now the bag is out of stock. Never mind, there’ll be other bags. Or maybe I’ll learn not to need any more!

SoyYo · 17/07/2019 18:44

@Dinkydoos I’m soo pleased the bikini is a win! Thank you for the nice feedback and now you can go wow them on hols 😎 the Mango wrap dress is delicious too and the colours would match the orange bikini perfectly but far too nice as a beach coverup 👌

nink awesome little bag!

soups yes if you think full moons affect tides, most NHS and emergency people will tell you they don’t like being on call on a full moon because they get more accidents (fights too) etc it’s not just astrology but the effect it has on us all. Tends to make us more emotional. An eclipse full moon is like a full moon on steroids, doubly powerful on our emotions! So don’t feel bad because you have emotional needs. It’s useful to know though because we all need to be aware that as we become more emotional we may also overreact. But as long as we try and keep balance, keep breathing, being mindful of others maybe also saying things from their place of emotional need and taking the time to allow that space while trying to remain centered and as unattached as possible we can ride the waves and come out of it with powerful and useful new insights, as well as closer bonds to those we love.
So first don’t beat yourself about it.
You are only human.
As long as you express your needs kindly it’ll be good and sometimes we need to clear the air.
If however the need is coming from a place of emotional lack/hurt buried in our past/childhood it is good to recognise it and move on with that powerful knowledge and full moons are great for releasing, forgiving, and being grateful for all the things that are actually good in our lives.
Dunno if I’m making sense.
Forgiveness of others and our own past mistakes and lots of self care too. The effects of the emotionally charged full moon eclipse will soon pass...
Dunno if it resonates with you but I know I never take others or my own emotional outbursts too seriously at a full moon and try and look for the buried reason for it in case I can release it so it doesn’t come back next time.
Planetary wise 6 planets in retrograde is also a time of confusion but truths long hidden will come to the surface for the ultimate good and healing.
Big Flowers and be kind to yourself.

GinandGingerBeer · 17/07/2019 19:24

Hello everyone, I've not been on in a while, hope everyone is ok and you're feeling a bit better today @nink. Thanks
I'm back in insomnia mode agin and just knackered. It's killing me! I'll go back to the GP next week and ask for sleeping tablets for 5 nights a month I think. I know they're reluctant to prescribe them but I can't function on an hour and a half's kip Angry
I've not been too spendy ive no dosh, ordered a few things from the next sale but so far it's all a bag of bobbins and going back. I did order a nice Emma Willis maxidress, navy with deep orange animal print. More for A/W.... sounds revolting doesn't it? GrinGrinGrin
I can't comment on links as if I see something I like I'll have no willpower so I'm not clicking!
Love the dungas and the star print trousers Ella. Are the H&M ones side fasteners?

See! Tempted

twosoups1972 · 17/07/2019 19:38

Hi @GinandGingerBeer Smile

Oh no, the insomnia sounds really awful, I feel for you. You must be feeling so rubbish. Why are they reluctant to give you sleeping tablets? I presume you've tried melatonin?

Thank you @SoyYo what you say makes a lot of sense. I do have issues with stuff from my childhood and early adulthood that I probably haven't dealt with yet.

I have managed to get a pair of the Hush starry culottes in my size! Will report back although I'm supposed to be on the bench Blush

SoyYo · 17/07/2019 19:53

Gin we were missing you but insomnia is the absolute pits so another huge Flowers for you and do hope the GP has useful solutions.
I need a friend on the no spend bench having been supremely careless with my sale spending and so far loving everything too much to return Blush so grab a cushion!
There was a documentary on no sleep clinic recently on channel 4 or itv I think? Maybe you catch up on any time and they treated people with severe sleep disorders and it really opened my eyes. You can’t function properly so do take care and self care self care self care.

soups I had a troubled childhood too so really relate. The good thing is that I understand that and you do too so look after the wounded child inside.

Ellapaella · 17/07/2019 19:56

@GinandGingerBeer oh goodness insomnia sounds awful.. poor you Thanks
The H&M ones don't have any fastening they are just elasticated waist.

Huffthepuff · 17/07/2019 20:03

Thank you Soy you are full of wisdom yet again. I've had 2 disagreements with someone at work today who I normally see eye to eye with so I'm convinced of the truth of what you've said. I also think a storm is brewing in the south east so the atmosphere feels charged and tight if you know what I mean.

Lovely Mango dress Soups! Do post a pic, I can imagine it will show off your fab legs beautifully.

Love and positive thoughts to you Nink
*
Gin* sorry to hear about your insomnia, that sucks. So hard to function on less than a full nights sleep and 1-2 hours is basically just a crap nap. Fingers crossed things improve for you soon. I saw that Emma Willis dress in Next today. I was just popping in for some socks and it was the only thing that caught my eye in store, gorgeous fabric

NotAnActualSheep · 17/07/2019 21:19

Oh gin - sorry about the crap sleep. That's awful. Did it worsen with the HRT do you think, or do you think it's not related? Also, boooo to rubbish sales purchases...

And nink - So sorry you've been feeling down. I agree with the comments of others re self care (and not reaching for the temporary high of the credit card Grin ) and not being too hard on yourself when your mood causes you to react in a way you wouldn't otherwise. We've all been there... Hope your house work has helped a bit today, and tomorrow is another day and all that. I'd echo others' comments that you're such a wise voice on the thread, and you are my sandals muse Grin . yy - such a cute bag by the way - but there will be other bags, and you can view it as money "saved"!

Also, fuzzy - sorry you've been struggling too. I agree with soy - just get the good aqua shoes...they will last longer and you won't have to keep throwing them away, so you're basically saving money!

In fact Flowers for all 3 of you, and anyone else struggling with physical or mental things at the moment. And possibly some Gin .

huff love that tunic even though it is poly... and the sparkly jacket! If the tunic doesn't work (or is too sweaty..) , could you mock up something similar to your friend's outfit with the one hundred star kimono? It feels like a similar vibe. And also love soups Mango dress. That's really pretty. It reminds me a bit of the hush lupin (?) one with the frill sleeves and the pretty ditsy print. Also dinky -so glad the bikini works for you! Swimwear is a constant battle finding something that works (and isn't cut for someone with no boobs at all..)

ella - love those crew espadrilles. But, yes, definitely best to try some on! Not helpful to you, but I got some very similar ones in a lovely sage green years ago from BHS of all places (crap clothes, surprisingly good footwear...) that come out ever year and have lasted really well. Also, I got some from M&S in the sale a couple of years ago (to replace the BHS ones if anything ever happened to them...!) but they weren't as comfy for me and went in a recent clothes cull -though may be worth having a look this year.

never - hope Cornwall is treating you well! And cherries - so annoying about the web glitches. Nothing else to suggest really...have you asked MNHQ on the Site Stuff page?

soy - yes, I need to join you on the bench - though I'm still waiting for some toast stuff to arrive! That is definitely it though... I agree with you that no matter how ethically something is made, it's better not to be made at all in environmental terms. And i could survive a nuclear holocaust for around a decade with all my clothes at the moment, I think...

Though of course, having said that, the star culottes came and I love them. They are a bit - um - pyjama-esque (?) on me I think, though sadly, I'm no longer convinced that is a bad thing! (Home working, we love you). They do hang really nicely, and are pretty versatile top-wise. So I think I'll keep (will do a photo tomorrow but didn't get a chance today...had to go out just after trying them on). Not sure about the linen wide top. I ordered an S which is what I have in the normal wide top, but it seemed a bit tight on the arms and a bit clingy on the hips (and I know linen loosens off with wear, but still). I do like the idea though, and I love that knitted linen as long as I wash it properly so it doesn't warp on me and the colour so I've asked for an exchange in the M and will see how that goes.

SoyYo · 17/07/2019 21:38

Just reading back I realised I mixed up the Mango dress posters. It was soups! So ignore what I said to dinky about it matching the bikini Grin see? Full Moon makes me glad others are as bonkers as I am!

I’m glad what I said also doesn’t sound like the crazy musings of a woo woo chick.

Look Fw to seeing the culottes on you not (plenty of space on the no spend bench Wink and yes I have some final bits I’m waiting for...).

Have a peaceful evening all and be super compassionate to yourselves and dear ones xxx

twosoups1972 · 17/07/2019 22:07

You have a good evening too @Soy you are a lovely human being Smile

Huffthepuff · 17/07/2019 22:17

Yes Not I know what you mean about the 100 stars kimono. I am certainly getting some good mileage out of it that's for sure. I think what I liked about my friends tunic was that it fastened under the bust which was super flattering and less wafty. Though as you know, I love to waft where possible. Can you waft in polyester? Maybe the sweats and scratching stops it. So anyway, fingers crossed the Zara package comes good. I could have spent a fortune as they have some lovely bits at the moment.
I feel like I totally missed the boat on the Toast sale this time round. Every time I found something I liked it had already sold out in my size. Jealous that you will have the culottes!

Dinkydoos · 17/07/2019 23:15

Quite curious about the lovely mango dress @twosoups1972 as I often struggle with wrap style but that one looks great. Love that tunic @huffbut like you polyester is a problem for me. Do a photo of the culottes if you get chance, @NotAnActualSheep as so tempted by these.... yes, I am a sheep!

justilou1 · 18/07/2019 06:04

@SoyYo - full moon makes me bonkers, too! I am exhausted!!! Between the full moon, the lunar eclipse and the wind, I’ve barely slept a wink lately. When I do, I have bizarre, vivid dreams and wake up thinking “WTF?!?!” (Mental recycling, I guess!!!) I’m not remotely woo at all, I’m more inclined to think I’m tidal!!!

neveradullmoment99 · 18/07/2019 10:12

Hello hushistas. Well had a shopping day in truro yesterday. Loving the large fatface there. The clothes are far nicer in real life. Bought a gorgeous pair of crops. So soft. They dont look much on the website but so flattering in real life. Weathers taken a wee turn for the worse so popped them on last night and they felt fab!

neveradullmoment99 · 18/07/2019 10:15

Honestly wouldnt have looked twice at them on website but they are so lovely in reality.

NotAnActualSheep · 18/07/2019 10:21

I definitely think wafting is possible in polyester huff! Especially "good quality" polyester. And I see what you mean about the fastening, but wondering if you could mock up something with a brooch or similar on the kimono to give the same look. (though probably not with the tie attached?) In any case, I do think it is sufficiently different to be worth a go, especially as you are getting lots of use out of the kimono! Fingers crossed. Pity about toast, but I think among us on this thread we have given them a pretty good portion of their (and my Blush) income this sale... Though just for the record, the culottes do seem to be available in all sizes at the moment (think there have been some returns as they were oos in some sizes last week)... (not enabling or anything...)

LOL at being tidal just. I think there may be something in that. I was reading something about the tides with DS this week, and how the water "stuck" on the earth (and the earth itself) is pulled by the moon's gravity towards it. So the tides are a conflict of the watery sphere being pulled to the moon while also being kept on the earth by earth's gravity (while the rocky bit of the earth is spinning in the water... quite cool when you think about it). And this pull is more when the moon is closer to the earth obviously, cos that's how gravity works. Seems reasonable that this pull is greater on us as well at certain times of the lunar cycle, and we could manifest this be feeling less "grounded" (for want of a better expression). I know menstrual cycles are suppose to be linked to the lunar cycle (never quite worked the reason for that out) but it would also apply to men, with the full moon increase in fights etc... And presumably the phrase "gone a bit loony" is related to lune/ moon.

Anyway, less gravitational psychology, and more culottes... Here are the starry culottes with the BHS wedges I mentioned yesterday, and the navy linen top (pulled out of shape by the gravitational forces of my washing machine...)

Hushistas keep on keeping on!
NotAnActualSheep · 18/07/2019 10:24

Oh, those are lovely never! Really nice colours. The patterned culotte crop seems to be the kimono of this month! Hope the weather is fine enough for you to still enjoy your holiday!

neveradullmoment99 · 18/07/2019 10:41

They look fab on you @Not love them. I bought the toast ball dalmation earrings.
