But that’s definitely a necessity - without shoes to match, all your lovely new clothes are virtually unusable, which would be a terrible waste of money...so really you’d be spending money to save money, or something! (My justification/enabling powers are reduced this morning as I’ve not had a coffee yet....😉)

Ninkaninus · 16/07/2019 09:27

I’m guessing the Gabor sizzle wouldn’t be the look you need for the outfits, but if you really can’t find an espadrille wedge/sandal maybe a thick sole or platform flat espadrille would work? Toms definitely do those, and I think Dune had some great ones a while back - I bought a 7 and it was miles too big for me (wasn’t Dune but one of the brands they carry) so your size might sit perfectly on you.

twosoups1972 · 16/07/2019 10:07

Hi @NotAnActualSheep and @ninka - glad you’re feeling better - we’ve all had colds and sore throats too. Love both the earrings and shoes.

Lovely weather today. Dh has taken a well earned day’s holiday today. Can’t decide whether to see a live recording of Still open all hours that I have tickets for. Might be fun to see David Jason.

SoyYo · 16/07/2019 12:16

Yes gorgeous day here too! Sad to be stuck indoors working...
nink Love your buys!
never the Cornwall pic is amazing and wishing you a fab holiday! You certainly have the sun on your side! 😎 but hope you don’t come across too many bossy people in socks and sandals (justi comment just made me lol 😂)

laska Hope your last week in your Greek idyll is wonderful and you have tons of parcels to come home too and making the return a bit more palatable Wink

soups the pink sofa is super lovely! DH who’s now given up work for good has become my in-house decorator and painter. I sent him out on his motorbike today to get some fresh air though Grin

So you are all naughty because I wouldn’t have even realised there were more items added to the sale...as it is I couldn’t resist La Vie en Rose pink T shirt (in memory of my DM who adored Piaf) and the black denim skirt which I hope will convert me to wearing a denim skirt from time to time and not too short.

Enjoy the lovely weather if you can!

SoyYo · 16/07/2019 12:17

Forgot to add lovely to see you back not and that you had a great holiday Smile

Ninkaninus · 16/07/2019 13:07

The shoes have arrived and as I expected they are beeeeautiful...😍😍😍

But, as I suspected, they are sooo narrow and absolutely won’t fit! 😭😭😭

I could take a punt on the size 8 which probably would fit, but I think it would just look too long on my foot.

Ellapaella · 16/07/2019 13:14

Ah no Nink what's shame! I think we must suffer from the same dilemma as I am a 7 (probably a 6.5 but have to go up for width) and have such wide feet that buying shoes is a constant source of extreme disappointment. Trouble with sizing up for width is that they often then slip and rub the back of heels and cause blisters.
Will look at Tom's - I have some Toms slippers and they are the comfiest thing I own.

Ninkaninus · 16/07/2019 13:29

Yep we sound v. Similar - I am also actually a 6.5 in most shoes (can wear 6 in some trainers, even), but often size up to 7 for width. Except in Marks where I can wear a 6/6.5/7 depending on style/material.

V. Disappointed and sad now, I really would have loved those.

Ah well never mind.

Ninkaninus · 16/07/2019 13:37

(The Boden espadrilles did fit but only just and I’m relying on the give in the suede to allow them to fit me properly and comfortably once worn in)

SoyYo · 16/07/2019 13:58

Oh nink I feel your pain too 😫
That’s why I originally recommended the Gabor sizzle wedges, I’ve wide fit feet (and flat feet/fallen arches) so it’s mission impossible...
Sorry Ella I’ve given up on espadrilles, I do have some Toms espadrilles I bought on offer years ago and I think I’ve only worn them once or twice tops...I don’t have the patience to “stretch” them and they’re totally flat espadrilles too so don’t get your hopes up.

I am however eyeing up some Moshulu sandals that seem to be made for wide feet and on the sale but they’re not espadrilles.

I was just thinking you may be better off popping into New Look as sometimes they do cheapie wide fit footwear? Or M&S or ASOS wide fit range...I’m working and have some TC’s soon or I’d offer to go online and have a look for you.

Also my fave Scandi shop Gudrun Sjoden they have a sale on and I did spot some espadrilles but I’ve never tried their footwear...they seem to be very generous with their sizing (I take an S in their main clothing range) so maybe their shoe fit would be equally generous? Free postage to UPS shop near you and they always include a free returns label.
www.gudrunsjoden.com/en-gb/clothes/shoes/cotton-espadrilles-laburnum-36
The 39 are still in stock.

Oooh yes I ordered this from Gudruns sale
www.gudrunsjoden.com/en-gb/sale/clothes/blouses/kinaros-silk-blouse-black-s

And the printed trousers I raved about are also reduced in the b/w print to £29 (wish I’d waited till the sale)

SoyYo · 16/07/2019 14:29

@Ellapaella look at Asos!
www.asos.com/search/?q=wide+fit+espadrilles

miffy2 · 16/07/2019 14:42

I am trying to resist those lovely star cropped trousers (sits on hands) as I have gone a bit mad with the clothes buying.

I returned the H&M blue and white kimono, but bought the trousers version (cherries I think you posted a photo and looked fab in them; I think they are the perfect summer trousers, so floaty and perfect colours) then bought the kimono again as I can't bloody decide if I will wear it or not (eyeroll).

Then I bought and returned a few bits from Zara, keeping two tops for 'going out' and buying yet another midi skirt in black with white flowers. In my defence I have been wearing floaty midi skirts all summer Grin
Then today I picked up a lovely Karen Millen dress that was sported by Kat Farmer (doesmybumlook40) and it is really lovely, plus it was reduced to just over €70 in store, cheaper than most Hush dresses. I reckon it will look good well into A/W too.

Karen Millen dress

I am off up to Belfast for a day out next week and will bring back a Matalan skirt that I bought online (no Matalans here). It is OK but not fab enough to keep...unless I wear it before I go!

I really must stay away from all things clothing for the foreseeable. Where was that bench, did you say? Grin

Hope you are all enjoying the summer and that the sun is shining where you are, as it has just this minute gone all grey and overcast here.
Laska enjoy the heat and you will have some lovely things to look forward to when coming home - should make it easier!
Soy those Kensingtons are both fab on you, I love the stars pattern!
Ella I hope you kept the dungarees; i think you have the perfect figure for them - wear them for those of us who can't LOL.
soups another one in love with your sofa, what a gorgeous shade and shape!

Signing off for now, wearing last year's Hush faded boyf jeans and a Cos navy & white striped T!

Binkybix · 16/07/2019 16:24

Yeah Ella I wondered if that would be the case. Hmmm.

My warehouse haul was a real disappointment. Will try on again later and post some pics.

NotAnActualSheep · 16/07/2019 16:51

Oh no - sorry to hear your warehouse order wasn't too good binky - though at least you found it! I love that palm tree top too, but I can see where ella is coming from (at least, if you're in places where you don't NEED a jumper on even if it's sunny-ish....see knew my relief at cool temperatures wouldn't last..).

ella - hope you manage to find something that works for you espadrille-wise from all the helpful suggestions. I understand the need for something to go with the lovely star trousers (still waiting for mine).

nink - bother about the too-small shoes after all. They are indeed lovely. But no point keeping them if they rip your feet to pieces. I need more of your self-restraint re buying, frankly. I thought having a couple of weeks away from shops would help me, but apparently not.
(Though in my defence, our hotel in Paris was about 3 doors down from a Cos shop and I didn't go in it once . Admittedly, this was because DH gave me a Hard Stare when I suggested it, and muttered something about luggage space, but still...)

laska - Wahey - so glad that top is reduced finally. Though be careful with washing - I have the navy linen one and put it on a delicate cycle in the machine and it seems to have twisted and shrunk a tiny bit - though does stretch back out again so is still wearable - though the sleeves/ straps don't quite cover my bra properly any more. Pah. Think I'll have to hand wash properly from now on.

soups - probably too late - but how could you not go to see Open All Hours if you get the chance!! Go, go, go... Hope you had a lovely day anyway.

miffy - I saw that Karen Millen dress earlier too - it is really pretty. Also love the blue/ white pattern on the kimono/ trousers (though maybe not worn together!). I'm with you on the floaty skirts too (and dresses). They are so easy to wear and you don't have to shave your kneecaps

soy - OMG, that gudrun silk blouse is gorgeous - the colours and pattern are beautiful. Under no circumstances can i justify it as i don't do "work smart" routinely at the moment - but when I was, that would be ideal. Also, think the denim skirt and vie en rose tee will look lovely on you.

I hadn't seen the additional hush sale things either, and I'm not looking... nah, nah, nah, nah.

SoyYo · 16/07/2019 17:30

not I’m really joining the no spend bench now...I could do with being kept on the straight and narrow at least till I go on hols mid August...

I’m feeling guilty because it’s no good for our environment and Mother Earth 🌎 Even though Gudrun sells ethically sourced recycled everything I’m feeling enough is enough despite my absolute passion for clothes.

Having said all that I don’t want to guilt trip anyone, sorry! And I must say that the dress looks fabulous miffy 😍

FuzzyPuffling · 16/07/2019 17:58

I'm here.
But I haven't bought anything recently ( I don't buy very much...no need and I'm too poor!) and have had a grotty few days (with my lupus). Just tired and on the sofa but I'm feeling better today and even managed some bodyboarding this morning. Fabulous waves.

(I do need some new aqua shoes, as I binned my old pair today, but I don't think you lot would be terribly interested in those!)

Dinkydoos · 16/07/2019 18:31

Arggghhhh shouldn’t have looked at links!
Love that blouse @Soyo, but only a small left and not sure that will work on me!

SoyYo · 16/07/2019 18:33

Oh Fuzzy sorry to hear that. One of my friends has Lupus and it’s a really nasty thing. Here’s a big Flowers wishing you feel back to normal soon...
As for aqua shoes I’m interested! Grin when I was last in Spain in that cove with Mama Mia turquoise waters it was really a snorkelling cove and very very pebbly which meant I had to borrow my cousins neoprene socks to walk in the sea. They were soooo good I will buy some when I’m next there!

SoyYo · 16/07/2019 18:36

Sorry dinky but I’m big of nork as you well know and went for an S as Gudrun is rather generous and when it’s “standard fit” style they tend to be fine. If not I’ll return! Keep you informed (I’m your sampler you know? Remember the bikini? Grin Did you like it?)

SoyYo · 16/07/2019 18:39

@FuzzyPuffling the neoprene water shoes were like this
www.watershoestore.co.uk/collections/adults-water-shoes

My cousins said only 5EU in local beach shops 🤨 so maybe best to wait till I’m there to buy (less junk to carry too as the next trip is on the back of DH’s bike which basically means hardly any luggage...)

Ellapaella · 16/07/2019 19:05

Thanks for the link @SoyYo
These Crew ones are kind of what I've got in mind - I'm going to have to go to an actual shoe shop though and try on, or I'll end up ordering hundreds of pairs and as I have no credit card - no can do.

Hushistas keep on keeping on!
neveradullmoment99 · 16/07/2019 19:50

They wear a fair bit of hush here in Cornwall. Seen quite a few things. Saw the pink eye dress. It looked rather nice. Sime flowery trousers and love jumper. Also a grecian dress from last year in brush stroke print!

Huffthepuff · 16/07/2019 21:10

Love that Gudrun top Soy! I'm sure it will be beautiful

I've been on the no spend bench and making quite a few returns (smug face) but I've just accidentally spent half an hour on the Zara website...

Thinking of ordering these two. Trying to ignore that the tunic is made of polyester

https://m.zara.com/uk/en/printed-tunic-with-slits-p07521229.html?v1=15194418&v2=1281625#origin=shop-cart&utmcampaign=productShare&utmmmedium=webmobileesharing&utmsource=reddsocialwebbmobile

And I think this bag could be useful for summer

https://m.zara.com/uk/en/tote-bag-with-shells-p04751010.html?v1=13921491&v2=1281545&utmcampaign=productShare&utmmmedium=webmobileesharing&utmsource=reddsocialwebbmobile

Would love to know your thoughts before I do the deed...

SoyYo · 16/07/2019 21:19

Huff I knew you’d appreciate the Gudrun print and too beautiful and silk to pass on at that price...
Right your Zara lusts:
The bag is so nice and anything with seashells gets my 👌👌👌 it’s a good price too and a perfect summer bag.
The tunic print is gorgeous and love the style with the deep print at the front but will you regret the polyester? 🤔 I say try it and polish your 😇 a bit more if on receipt it doesn’t feel right.

SoyYo · 16/07/2019 21:20

Deep slit I meant....
