And???

RuggyPeg · 12/06/2019 14:38

I got this. It's steel fucking grey with random browny blondy bits in it. I'm going to have to wash it 5 times tonight to get rid of the grey 😠

Hairdresser before, I asked for this

Oh that's not good! sorry Op!

LaurieFairyCake · 12/06/2019 14:42

I think it looks great.

You've had highlights and every time you go the warm blonde will be more faded and you can have more grey.

Unless you wanted an entirely different colour? That first picture is filtered so it's hard to tell what colour it is - but I would say a light ashy blonde? Rather than grey?

RuggyPeg · 12/06/2019 14:43

I got this. Warm yellow blonde - literally the opposite of what I asked for - cool, icy blonde.

FWIW- you have really lovely hair.

Nesssie · 12/06/2019 14:46

The 4th picture is lovely!
That's what you had, but wanted to go more icy/grey like in picture 1, but ended with picture 2?
I would go back and explain what you wanted/what you got, but its possible you may need a few trips to get the colour you want?

RuggyPeg · 12/06/2019 14:47

I've been through about 10 hairdressers, including some of the best regarded ones in the area and not one has given me what I asked for. I've had it bleached that many times, it's literally snapping off. Whenever I complain, they ALWAYS say, well the picture you showed is heavily filtered to look that colour. WELL FUCKING SAY UPFRONT THEN THAT U CANT DO IT. I despair. I'm going to do it myself from now on.

Sorry OP but I would go back it's awful. Its blue/green on bottom and warm blonde at root. Your previous hairdresser got it quite close though as I think the picture you showed them is quite warm and similar to what you got (which was lovely btw)

Hollylolly28 · 12/06/2019 14:49

If you put some lemon juice and conditioner on leave for about20 mins should wash the grayish bit out and fingers crossed more what you're looking for

RuggyPeg · 12/06/2019 14:50

It's not lovely. It's really really not. It's mainly steel grey with random warm honey blonde strands. I absolutely did not want grey and said quite clearly not. I've seen people in real life with these lovely colours, so I know it's possible and not just via a filter on Instagram. I've accosted people in the street to get the name of their hairdresser and it's still turned out shit.

I'd definitely go back!! It's very very grey! It looks nothing like the pic you showed. I'd be pretty kissed off tbh

RuggyPeg · 12/06/2019 14:51

Thanks Paddington - you're seeing what I see. A grey/green tinge. It's truly awful.

Go back to the salon.

Fwiw the bluey grey bits will likely wash to the colour you want but the brassy blonde bits need lifting again to take the toner so they haven't processed that long enough. It needs to be almost white blonde to take the toner. They should correct that for you free of charge.

SinkGirl · 12/06/2019 15:00

It may be that your hair just doesn’t tolerate colour well? Especially if you’re repeatedly bleaching it and it’s so damaged. They should tell you this, but of course it’s very difficult to know in advance how your hair will respond

Rarfy · 12/06/2019 15:01

Also you really need a full head bleach rather than what looks like highlights.

Having looked again at your hair do today that's a really shit effort or a toner too they don't seem to know what they're doing. It will wash out quickly anyway. Give it a few shampoos with head and shoulders or baby shampoo.

supercee · 12/06/2019 15:09

Definitely go back, it's verging on blue.

Do you follow Cher Webb on social media? She's a make-up artist and pretty much has the colour you are after, a cool icy blonde. She has posted tutorials before about her hair and the products used (purple shampoos etc). I'm very envious of her hair but I don't suit being that blonde.

I'm guessing you would need a full head bleach then the purple shampoos. In the meantime, as horrible as it is and been there myself - complain.

ChewbaccaHutchinsCool · 12/06/2019 15:13

I don't understand how most hairdressers stay in business. They're usually a massive rip off and rarely do what you ask (or say they can't do what you want).

Moneybegreen · 12/06/2019 15:15

It looks blue in the new photo! How did they manage to get that from a request for ash blonde/rose gold in the top photo?

twistedbiscuit · 12/06/2019 15:20

Yes I see what you mean, it's steel grey like a Brillo pad Sad

mycatisblack · 12/06/2019 15:24

They've just left the toner on too long. It will wash out in a couple of shampoos.

QueSera · 12/06/2019 15:26

Difficult to tell shades given lighting etc - but even if the colours weren't exactly what you wanted, I think they look lovely, both the colours and the cut/style!

I am so done with hairdressers I've not gone to one in almost a year. Every time, I ask for no feathering or layers, and they give me feathering and layers. WHY?? I've been to four different ones, and I'm too nervous to try a new one.
