To find it difficult to choose an everyday lipstick with a hint of colour?

I like to wear a moisturising lipstick or a lip balm with a little colour in it everyday. I've been using one that I bought on holiday last year which really suited my skin tone and gave me a boost of colour, kind of light berry. It wasn't a known brand and I accidentally threw it in bin when I was decluttering my handbag yesterday! I've often spent money on good brands such as Clinique and then realized they were the wrong colour for me after a few wears. Can you recommend your go to everyday lipstick or lip balm with moisturiser and in a light berry colour, nothing too over the top. Also, how do you go about choosing the right shade where you're whole face comes alive?!!!! I'm willing to spend up to £30. Btw just finishing lunch break so won't be back on this thread until this evening. TIA

You might be better having this moved to Style and Beauty...

It wasn't this was it? Got it in Primark and it's lovely

Mac ‘syrup’ lipstick. Creamy, moisturising and you can apply less or more depending on how you like it. That’s my every day lippy.

Clarins do a sheer berry lipstick in their 8 hour range, I wear it on holiday all the time. Also, Charlotte Tilbury Superstar Lips in Berry Pink, Pillow Talk or Dreamy Nude are lovely subtle glossy shades.

I am a lipstick hag Grin

How do people ever find a good lipstick colour?

soarin · 12/06/2019 14:46

Perricone no lipstick is lovely, my lips but better colour (cheapest on allbeauty)
Or frog prince by lipstick queen is a shade adjusting one

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. It's very moisturizing, and comes in 13 colors.

Are you particularly set on it being lipstick? Burt's Bees does a lovely lip oil in Plum and in Rose, both of which feel lovely. Ignore the ridiculous photos on their website; the stain isn't nearly that shiny.

steff13 · 12/06/2019 15:10

Right now I'm very into Burt's Bees in Red Dahlia. I don't know if you can get Burt's Bees there, though.

I used No. 7's skin matching service - once you've got your foundation colour (no need to buy foundation, just get them to scan your skin) they have cards with complimentary lip colours and blushers for each skin tone. I'm warm ivory and my go to lipstick is called soft tulip, which is like a more vivid shade of my natural lip colour. I've bought a few lip colours based on the recommendations on the card and they all suit me!

I like Clarins Soft Berry for 'better than your normal lips' type of thing.

steff13 · 12/06/2019 15:15

This is the one I was talking about:

Looks like Red Dahlia is sold out online, but maybe in a local store. H

Dior lipglow in berry. It's a pinky berry colour, sheer but buildable, has a lip balm feel to it and doesn't dry lips at all. It sort of lightly stains the lips so never wears off really but I go over it with a clear lip balm during the day (Babyliss in the yellow tube but any moisturising one would do) and it looks freshly applied.

They do other colours too but berry is my favourite. www.dior.com/en_gb/products/beauty-Y0027010-dior-lip-glow-hydrating-colour-reviver-lip-balm

It's my holy grail lipstick as it lights my face up without being "ta-da lipstick!" If that makes sense!

cessie322 · 12/06/2019 16:08

I use the Burt’s Bees tinted lip balms and they are very good. I ordered them online but I’ve since seen them in a good few health stores.

Butterfly98 · 12/06/2019 20:02

Thanks all for your suggestions, I particularly like the look of Burts Bees tinted lip balm so will be buying that tomorrow! Hope my local Boots have it in stock 😊

@clucky3 that looks another good one to try! Has anyone ever tried those lippy's that you see advertised in the duty free magazine on aeroplanes? Basically advertised as one shade of green that suits/adjusts to all skin tones and natural lip colours are enhanced.

Yes I have that one too, it's also a lipstick queen one - called frog prince. On my skin it's very pink, not berry toned like you asked for.

At the moment, I'm keen on lip gloss. I find it is more than enough .
Other than that, I like Burts Bees tinted lip balms

TinklyLittleLaugh · 12/06/2019 20:50

Another vote for Burts Bees. I’m surprised they are so popular; I thought they were my secret love.
