Went to Bravissimo on Sunday to get fitted....

... and thought they were great! The fitter was really helpful, and from my vague descriptions of what I wanted she somehow managed to find bras I loved. She was very thorough - even suggesting that I try on the different colours I wanted in the same style, just in case there were any tiny differences in fit. She also stressed that quite often you need different sizes in different makes/styles, and I did indeed come out with bras in two different sizes. She didn't rush me at all, and kept bringing different styles and sizes until we were both happy.
I thoroughly recommend them! So much better than my last long and unproductive session in John Lewis

Back again! You lot don't half talk!
I am 31 inches across the back, and have been wearing a 36C (or B). Would Bravissimo have somthing in whatever size I am likely to be??

CarGirl · 25/07/2007 21:32

yes they will as you are probably a 32dd or a 30e!!!!!!!

katepol · 25/07/2007 21:40

I can't be Cargirl! - I am not blessed in the nork dept by any means

CarGirl · 25/07/2007 21:42
 (sorry cat sat on laptop)
I have no norks, absolutely nothing sort of empty sacks I am still a 30/32 c/d, even when I was a 32E I didn't have a cleavage and didn't look like I had large norks. It also depends on the shape of your norks how big they look?
CarGirl · 25/07/2007 21:43

pessimisticall you will probably be a 32d like I am, believe me I am so flat chested I wear ultimo gel filled bras

katepol · 25/07/2007 21:53

Hmm, you have given me hope... Will have to drag my dd1 off next week so I can get measured... Would be lovely to have a well fitting bra

barbamama · 25/07/2007 22:17

Thanks girls, I don't feel so massive as a G now - I have got big norks, but not Jordanesque if you know what I mean.

Shit just looked and I am a double G!

You are all so lucky.

KristinaM · 25/07/2007 22:50

cargirl - i am a 32dd when not bf and i would say i am quite well endowed is 32d really flat chested?????

Spidermama · 25/07/2007 22:51

Yes I had a great experience there too. It's a revelation to me.

scampadoodle · 25/07/2007 23:12

Now, can anyone help me with this? I was fitted at R&P a year ago, got 2 lovely 'everyday' bras. I asked the girl if she could find me a plunge bra or similar that would hoik 'em up for the evening, & she said no! That I didn't have enough fullness at the top of the breasts! I felt SO crushed (I mean, isn't that what wonderbras are FOR?!) FYI, I am a 32DD & my boobs have always been fairly low slung, & since the DCs they are a bit 'loose' at the top, but not deformed or anything. I get around it by stuffing 'chicken fillets' in my bra. But I just felt really embarrassed when she said that, as though I'd asked for porn or something

Lizzzombie · 26/07/2007 08:08

scamp - R&P, although great at fitting you up in the correct size dont have a lot of styles or choice. Try a PNA1 from bravissimo (computer is playing up so cant do a link to the correct page, but type PNA1 into the style search field and it will pop up on www.bravissimo.com)
This bra looks a bit scary, but it does the job, and looks fab under clothes. Its a plunge bra, with plenty of support from the bottom. I sell it to all manner of women, from 17 to 70 and most of them have had kids. I've even sold it as a more glamorous BF bra!
It maybe that due to a 'lack of fullness' you wont get a "hello boys" type of cleavage, but you will def get amazing uplift.
Could always be worse. One customer I fitted had been told by M&S that she was an "empty 32d" I can't imagine telling anyone that! It was true but VERY undiplomatic! Hope this helps x

massivebigpantsface · 26/07/2007 08:13

hi lizzzzombie! thanks for my card and flowers and your lovely message yesterday! I made it through and amy was fine of course, although I did have a blub in the morning!

I'll give you a call next week x

massivebigpantsface · 26/07/2007 08:14

caught out while I'm supposed to be on a mn break! lol I knew it wouldn't last!

massivebigpantsface · 26/07/2007 08:17

its cathcart btw, as if you wouldn't have guessed!

Budababe · 26/07/2007 08:56

Love bra threads!

Lizzzombie - you sound lovely. Wish I could get to "your" Bravissimo!

I went to R&P last December in London and loved the result! Was wearing a 46B/48A (am size 20-22) but ended up in a 40E! Was gobsmacked but thrilled - looked SO much better and was so much more comfortable.

Just bought some bras from Debenhams and are not nearly as comfortable.

Will try Bravissimo.

Effie- my nice ones are PrimaDonna too. Does anywhere else sell them?

CarGirl · 26/07/2007 13:51

Kristina - I think a lot of how well endowed you look it just depends on your nork shape, I have very wide norks so they don't droop (despite being empty and knackered from huge engorgement problems) but there is also nothing to uplift to make me look endowed, I know women with smaller cup measurements who look double the endowment of me or at the very least a cleavage!

Scamp you need to go to debenhams or similar (with a huge lingerie section) on try on all the diff brands of plunge/gel filled bras - I finally have one style in one brand that makes them hoiked up and give me an almost cleavage look.

Birdly · 26/07/2007 14:37

Wow! I thought no-one was ever going to reply to my original post - and now there are zillions of boobtastic responses!

I went to the Bravissimo in Cambridge, Lizz, so having read the whole thread I guess it wasn't you who helped me. Am currently wearing a Panache Superbra (I think) - a lovely smooth T-shirt bra which is v comfy. I got it in 2 colours, and also got a bright pink Freya one, which I haven't worn yet.

The bras were about £26 each, and I bought 3 - but I'm looking on them as an investment and am optimistic they'll last longer than the Next ones I've been buying .

Who owns Bravissimo? Should we club together and buy them some flowers?!

Blimey Katepol, your bras are totally the wrong size! Do they ride up to the back of your neck?
You will be a 30 or 32 and a much bigger cup size - maybe DD or E.

CarGirl · 26/07/2007 15:42

LOL - Aloha that is exactly what I thought - the mental images!!!!

Pabamella · 26/07/2007 15:43

Do you have to get your boobs out?

Tutter · 26/07/2007 15:43

can i just interject to say my friend (37 weeks) was measured in bravissimo on monday - she's a J cup

tutter (milk just come in and still a measly D cup)

Pabamella · 26/07/2007 15:43

When i got fitted for maternity bras i left mine on, is it different?

aloha · 26/07/2007 15:45

You keep your bra on at Bravissimo and they don't measure you either. They just have mysterious powers!

flatmouse · 26/07/2007 15:45

OK, in defence on the OP, i got properly fitted in John Lewis, with a Freya bra - and was astounded at the new body shape and stunned with norks in correct place. Got plenty of looks at work - made it all worthwhile (and those were complimentary looks not perving leary looks!)

However Bravissimo do stock more Freya bra's and i got a gorgeous Freya bikini (dare I wear it ?) from there

Pabamella · 26/07/2007 15:46

oh thats good
