Has anyone else bought the ridiculously comfortable farting sandals from M&S?

They are hugely comfy. One of the most comfortable pairs of sandals I’ve ever bought. But...the combination of feet and foam makes it sound as though I have chronic flatulence. It’s loud and constant. Does anyone else have them? Do you have the same problem? Any ideas on how to fix the noise? DH refuses to leave the house with me wearing them. Hmm Grin
I’ve tried talc. They are so comfy and don’t look bad so I’m desperate for a solution so I don’t need to confine them to the back of the wardrobe.

Grin I have to return a t-shirt to M&S tomorrow and I am sooo going to have to try on the farting sandals Grin

FiremanKing · 25/05/2019 17:41

Spray anti perspirant under the soles of your feet before putting on.

HumptyNumptyNooNoo · 25/05/2019 17:42

Botox your feet = no sweat - quite literally ( but it does hurt a bit !)

CMOTDibbler · 25/05/2019 17:45

I have a pair of farting court shoes - its nothing to do with sweating in that case, they are just a funny shape underfoot

Innersmellbow · 25/05/2019 17:50

I had a sparkly pair of Dr Scholls foot farters last summer.

IveGotAlpen · 25/05/2019 17:50

This post made my day 😂😂😂

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 25/05/2019 17:53

I had to bring a lovely pair of sandals back to Schuh because the left one farted with each step. It sounded like I was trying to walk while holding in a massive fart, and a bit was squeaking out with each step.

I just said they weren't comfortable when I returned them, though.

FiremanKing · 25/05/2019 18:22

I’m lucky because I don’t really sweat but in the hottest of weather I put anti perspirant on the soles of my feet and then when dry I dust my feet with talc and dust off with a puff so that there are no traces and my feet stay dry, cool and comfortable all day in sandals or flip flops and no squeaking noise ever.

Lindy2 · 25/05/2019 18:25

I was going to say talc but that obviously hasn't worked.
How about socks. Grin

PragmaticWench · 25/05/2019 18:27

It's the shape of your foot and the shape of the shoe. I tried a new pair of shoes in the other day (so not sweaty) and one of them did this.

Loving this thread title!

Pieceofpurplesky · 25/05/2019 18:34

Is it wrong that I want a pair of farting sandals to blame when it's me

Whatsforu · 25/05/2019 18:38

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 25/05/2019 18:41

MinesaPinot · 25/05/2019 19:33

No help but that is the best heading for a thread that I've seen in ages GrinGrinGrinGrin

I was pointed towards Perspi-Guard when I asked the same question here a while ago! I haven't had the chance to try it out properly yet because it's been too wet for sandals today, but early signs are promising. But some shoes are just naturally farty, I'm afraid. If sweat isn't the answer, just embrace it and make a point of shouting "Better out than in!" on every step.

Pinkarsedfly · 25/05/2019 19:35

I bought some limited edition Converse that did this. I sounded like Squidward.

DontCallMeShitley · 25/05/2019 19:59

I find it difficult to get comfortable footwear and finally found some really comfy shoes.

Was really p'd off when they started farting with every step, no room for an insole so had to return them.

Shoes never used to fart.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/05/2019 20:07

I have a farting court shoe. Unfortunately I found this out at a funeral. Blush

Veterinari · 25/05/2019 20:09

It might just be that the squidgy foam needs to be squashed a bit. Wear them around the house

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/05/2019 20:51

It's something to do with how the air escapes from the side of the shoe, like blowing across a reed.

TSSDNCOP · 25/05/2019 20:53

Yeah socks would definitely work. It will distract people from the farting to wiretap no if you're ok to be out alone.

TheWaiting · 25/05/2019 21:18

Hi everyone. Sorry, I didn’t mean to post and run but we had guests for a couple of hours. It’s not really a sweat thing, more that my instep creates a vacuum with each step. I just wish they weren’t so bloody comfy!

Just looked them up online and there’s a few references to the unfortunate noise in the reviews so it’s not just me. Blush Grin

Glad to give to all a chuckle but this is a serious first world problem. Grin I’ll try deodorant but I don’t think it’s sweat just a vacuum issue.

My new Birkenstocks do this. I also have a groaning Adidas trainer and a squeaky work loafer.
Everyone can hear me walk around the office Blush
