Dress for wedding, is it too cream? And what shoes?

I'm pregnant but not maternity clothes pregnant yet, but been struggling to find a dress. Have a 7 month old Ds too who is breastfed.

Tried this on in oasis and it fits my slight baby bump and I can feed Ds in it and it's not too expensive, seen as it's not my usual style/size don't want to spend a fortune.
But it's cream and I know it's got the flowers on but it looks really cream on. Plus I don't know what shoes to wear, don't want killer heels but feel it really needs them. Was thinking of one of the colours in the flowers but ideally a wedge style so can still have the height but some comfort.

So for one is it ok to wear as a wedding guest? If so any suggestions on shoes, accessories? If not any suggestions on dresses?

Too much cream imo. Sorry

ShirleyPhallus · 13/05/2019 20:54

Lovely dress and totally appropriate

Swiftier · 13/05/2019 20:59

I think it’s too much cream tbh. Is there anything else in a similar style?

GraceMarks · 13/05/2019 21:00

It's lovely, but I think the base colour is too cream. Does it come in any other colours? It would be great in pink or yellow.

Aimily · 13/05/2019 21:01

I like it and would say its fine to wear to a wedding.
But you said it looks really cream on, so my question is does the colour suit you? What is your skin tone, with your statement two extremes came to mind:
are you crazy pale like me and look seriously washed out in it
or
do you have a darker skin tone that the colour compliments?

Shoe wise, I'd go for a nice sandal, probably brown or hot pink.

NotReadyForThisX2 · 13/05/2019 21:04

No it isn't in any other colours and I'm struggling to find something similar.

It's a church wedding and the bride is wearing a big wedding dress with train/veil the works.

Boden have some fabulous dresses. Sorry, I know Boden gets a lot of shade in these parts.

NotReadyForThisX2 · 13/05/2019 21:10

I think the colour suits me, I'm not too pale, not too tanned.
But it's not a colour I'd wear much so maybe that made me feel it was really light.

Would shoes like this go?
I'm thinking a bright shoes and bag, might make it look less creamy.

That Biden dress is much nicer

CIT80 · 13/05/2019 21:14

I would say it’s fine with bright colour shoes bag and fascinator

ozymandiusking · 13/05/2019 21:18

I think this is a lovely dress, and ideal for a wedding. If it fits and does all the things you need to do, buy it.

puma84 · 13/05/2019 21:18

It's fine.

PinkCrayon · 13/05/2019 21:20

Its lovely. Its fine for a wedding.

Saturdaycartoon · 13/05/2019 21:21

Congratulations OP. I'm exhausted just thinking about being pregnant with a seven month old and breastfeeding! You're a superwoman already.

That dress is beautiful and As long as you accessorise it more on the pink and less in the cream side will be gorgeous.

Those wedges are perfect, unless it is extremely formal. But do yourself a favour and bring your flip flops/ ballet flats/ trainers!

Have a great time!

Laska2Meryls · 13/05/2019 21:21

I think its great, especially with pink shoes and wrap..and im sure that IRL people dont worry so much about a guest wearing cream to weddings as they seem to on MN..
But if it worries you , what about this similar style Boden dress instead?

loobylou10 · 13/05/2019 21:21

Perfectly fine

NoBaggyPants · 13/05/2019 21:21

Too cream.

The Boden dress is beautiful.

IdblowJonSnow · 13/05/2019 21:22

I really like this. Go for it!
Is it worth getting a bigger size so you can wear it for a bit more of your pregnancy?
In no way does this resemble a typical wedding dress btw!

NotReadyForThisX2 · 13/05/2019 21:40

Would it be worth checking with the bride? Good friends, but she's so lovely I'm not sure she's say if she wasn't keen.

The Boden ones, really aren't me. The oasis one is a bit too pretty/girlie for me, but I think the bright flowers keep it a bit trendier and more what I'd wear.

It’s lovely and it’s not like anyone is going to mistake you for the bride! Colourful accessories will also help

Spinnaret · 13/05/2019 22:09

It's fine. Not remotely bridal in either style or length. It's a floral dress, not a cream one.

Unless you stick a veil on your head and parade up the aisle carrying a bouquet, with a trail of small girls scattering petals no one is going to mistake you for the bride!

Hanab · 13/05/2019 22:15

I love it! Perfect for a summer wedding imho
