I'm going to try that mushroom recipe of laska's for my tea tonight. Just about to start cooking.
Envious of 20 degree weather... was sunny here today but still needing coats and jumpers as the chilly north east wind still blows! 🥶

SoyYo · 18/04/2019 19:27

I’m under the channel water so iffy connection but I sent a code to @Sanitygirl who made me Grin with her comment

SoyYo · 18/04/2019 19:33

Meant I p.m. you @sanitygirl
I’m a bit 🙃after champagne and a little wine but wanted to say @ella thank you. Same to all of you who commented.
It was lovely to read @huff and @not
And like the M&S bras : great find thank you for posting @laska

I’m so totally comfy in the Kiera culottes and I think you could easily dress down so not strictly workwear...someone in the office today gave me one of those mini chocolate Easter eggs and I put it in my pocket...forgot about it...it had melted when I put my hand in pocket later in the day 😱 managed to tissue off and luckily didn’t show through 😅 but will need to wash as soon as I’m back so Will let you know how well it washes

SoyYo · 18/04/2019 19:35

Paris was very very warm today...proper late spring weather and sunshine/perfectly still

SoyYo · 18/04/2019 19:42

And @len I don’t remember Montelimar choc but I do remember black magic choc Grin...was that the one with the Ad of the mysterious man clad in black turtleneck creeping into w girls’ bedroom?
Wouldn’t be allowed with #metoo now! 😱

JackieLavertyintheFreezer · 18/04/2019 20:00

What is the Hush sizing like? I quite fancy one of their sweatshirts but don't know whether to get a L or XL, I’m usually a 16 but would like a sweatshirt to be loosish, thank you!

dontcallmelen · 18/04/2019 20:18

Soy I’m not sure, I think that ad might be the milk tray man.
Jackie sure a few people have the sweatshirts, they will be along to advise, I find most hush stuff comes up pretty generous, love your user name😀

Ellapaella · 18/04/2019 20:21

@JackieLavertyintheFreezer I am a 10-12 and find a small is fine in sweatshirts. I think a medium would probably be ok for you but maybe someone else who is the same size can advise a bit better.

SoyYo · 18/04/2019 20:37

On last leg journey home now (KC to Cambs cattle class...😩 after the serene experience I’ve just had not enjoying crisp eating noises 🤣)
@Jackie I’m a solid 14 (34FF boobs) and find M has plenty of room. So I wouldn’t go any bigger than L in a 16 and depending on style M would be fine too

JackieLavertyintheFreezer · 18/04/2019 20:41

Thank you ladies, will order a L!

Laska2Meryls · 18/04/2019 21:01

Jackie, Hush often come up big ( but it does depend on style) I would go for a L if you want loose-ish..the XL will most probably be too big, My sweatshirts are all M (except the pink Cest le bon from lastyear , which was strangely more fitted) I am usually a 14 (but some brands16 because of my 36E) on top .

sanity I promise , it really is a Hush fans thread..we are just very chatty.. and there's only so much even we can buy! (although we do our absolute best to keep them in business.. Grin )

That menu looks fab! Soy.. of course I am going to have to pay for it myself.. Sad ( but then I dont work as hard as you , ).

ella I hope you like the mushrooms, ( and the recipe works , I am a bit of a 'bung it 'cook, and on my timings especially .. ) ..I may cook them tomorrow , now we had cold chicken and salad ( but no wine!) Halo..

My hips and shoulders ache a bit this evening (the off-road bit was v v bumpy (a tractor track mostly ) and the cycle track is rough and stony as its an old railway line ) , but legs feel ok atm.. we shall see what the morning brings..

never yes I am not sure about the M&S either, I like the pocket detail an dthat they are cotton but it also depends on what the fabric is like IRL. It is always a bit hit or miss with them I find. Could be really nice or really frumpy, I shall report back.. I shall definately check out the fat face ones..
Twosoups I think DH went to Queens school.. (it was along time ago though!! , he is 60 next year!!) . Most of his family still live in the area.. Mainly North Watford.. we also have a small house there, which he lives in during the week.

SoyYo · 18/04/2019 21:20

I think you should keep an eye out for special offers @laska, and if you’re planning a trip in winter (as long as it’s not during the school half term) you may just pick it at a great price booking well in advance.
I don’t have much to add to all the great suggestions for a short city break. If you’re set on train rather than flying Paris kind of fits the bill nicely. Fab food. Lots to do if DH is into culture/museums/history and not far to go, but I do like the sound of Strasbourg, have never been. I’ve been to Lyon a few times and it’s a nice city too, and the epicurean capital of France.
I also have a huge soft spot for Ams having lived in NL (we were near Alkmaar which is also beautiful) but if DH knows it well then no...
Lille and Brussels are other Eurostar journeys within easy reach and...
Euro Disney!! Grin

neveradullmoment99 · 18/04/2019 21:43

I was around Tesco's today @ella but didn't see much that I like tbh. I will look out for the vests though :)

Laska2Meryls · 18/04/2019 21:45

I will soy have signed up to their newsletter, if I do go for it it will be September though before I can book as they dont issue tickets until 180 days in advance it seems..

Flying is no prob if we go somewhere else..I may end up plumping fr somewhere where it is likely to be a bit warmer but ,I was just thinking he would probably really like the train..

Ellapaella · 18/04/2019 22:07

@Laska2Meryls the mushrooms were delicious! DH very impressed too.

Ellapaella · 19/04/2019 09:57

Morning all. Currently having a nice cuppa in bed but off to get my eyebrows done shortly providing eyebrow bar is open today.
Have chosen my new kitchen tiles - we are going to have exposed brick (like the picture below) on the wall behind the new range cooker. Job today is to start clearing out the kitchen as the refurb starts as soon as we get back from Rome.
Hope you all have lovely Easter weekend plans lined up. I'm off 3 days but working Easter Monday.

DavetheCat2001 · 19/04/2019 10:51

Hello Hushista's!

@Ellapaella thank you for asking after me the other day 😘

I'm currently in the middle of selling our flat/ buying a house hell which has been painfully limping along since early Feb.

It culminated in our bastard buyers pulling out on Wednesday having messed us about for weeks, so our dream house purchase hangs in the balance 😥. Hoping to find a new buyer asap.. had forgotten how hideous the process is. Already £2k down in surveys/ solicitors fees.

Anyway.. have been on a clothes buying embargo as still not working, plus a general lack of interest in most things (myself/appearance inc)... depression trying to raise it's ugly head again.

Anyway.. am Hushing it up today in last years Portobello as off to the inlaws for Easter which will be nice.. looking forward to getting out of London ( eco- protestors dependant!) for a few days.

Hope all are well and will read back over the ling w/e.

😘 to all

Elllllle · 19/04/2019 11:10

I still feel like an imposter but this is such a lovely thread that I can't help but continue to lurk (and promise I will report on size/style/fabrics when my hush jumpers arrive). Have even printed out that mushroom recipe as it looks amazing and wish I could stick to more than one day of 800 cals. I just feel so ill by the end of day, I can't do it. What are your secrets?! Am now also lusting after that bloody over-priced hush straw hat.

SoyYo · 19/04/2019 11:14

Morning Hush lovelies
@dave so good to read you again and truly sorry about the house buying/selling misery 😿 makes me angry how the English system allows people to just “walk away” up to contract exchange time. It’s bonkers and high time a non refundable deposit legal fee was introduced like the Scottish and Spanish legal system. Time wasters would be a lot less abundant then Angry I’ve thought of you often too and know we are here whenever you feel like popping in for a friendly chat. You know already hush or other fashion purchases are not a pre-requisite Wink or we would be truly bankrupt by now. Your outfit sounds great.

@ella ❤️ The metro brick tiles! Wow! Didn’t even know they existed.

It’s a beautiful spring mild day in East Anglia and I’m having a lazy morning. This afternoon DH and I going away to North Norfolk coast till Monday where it’s supoosed to be sunny too but not as warm as inland. Looking forward to healing beach walks.

Which reminds me of @fuzzy and just to say you are in our thoughts Flowers

Ellapaella · 19/04/2019 11:14

@Elllllle don't just lurk, you are very welcome on the thread, it's nice to have new posters. Looking forward to hearing about your purchases.
Re the hat - there will be loads of similar ones in the high street shops soon, I got a lovely one very similar from Dorothy Perkins last summer. The Hush one is gorgeous but a ridiculous price.

Ellapaella · 19/04/2019 11:15

Oops missed your post @DavetheCat2001 - good to hear from you.

Ellapaella · 19/04/2019 11:18

@SoyYo a weekend at the Norfolk coast sounds idyllic - enjoy my friend x

SoyYo · 19/04/2019 11:19

@Ellle I haven’t started with the 800 calorie diet yet (work travel is my excuse) and plan to start properly next week as hopeless to do so with Easter weekend. Excuses, excuses.
I’m just going to try to up my steps and eat sensibly in the meantime to avoid piling on even more weight!
Pop in as frequently or randomly as you want Wink and yes do report back on your Hush purchases!
As to the Panama which is fabulous I know just what you mean Grin

Elllllle · 19/04/2019 11:28

Thanks @Ellapaella and @SoyYo Grin I have to admit, I have a massive head (and even bigger hair) and the size 59 is calling to me (it's not often that hats I like come in sizes that large!). Happy Easter everyone, and yes I agree, impossible to diet over Easter (our family get-togethers involve so much wine and food ... and wine)

Laska2Meryls · 19/04/2019 11:34

Good thing about that hat Eollie is that it's real panama, not paper straw ,that's why it's ££
