Hope she's better soon cherries. Your poor dd Thanks

SoyYo · 04/05/2019 10:46

Catching up as I sip my second morning coffee and can see the North Sea from my sofa. Sunny and raining at the same time this morning and windy. We’ll be going out to blow cobwebs away later.

First @Ella loved your “ramblings” Thank You truly. It’s lovely to see ourselves through someone else’s kinder eyes Smile
In my case my love of style I think comes from my beautiful grandmother. She really was like a second mother to me and I used to spend as much time with her as with DM. We would go weekly to fabric shops and choose a fabric, and all the trimmings (buttons, etc). She would then make some simple things herself but also weekly visits to the dressmakers for all our clothes. For example I would look through the big Burda pattern books. Choose something. Then go find the fabric, etc. Have it made, usually a couple of fittings as it would be work in progress. Finally get the perfectly fitting result. Which is possibly why I’m so aware now when something doesn’t fit quite right for my shape. Even with off the shelf clothes I cannot tolerate I’ll fitting clothes and I know instinctively when something suits me. All those years spent carefully evaluating the virtues of pure cotton vs a broderie trim, how a tailored jacket should fit me, velvet vs satin I guess have been ingrained in my subconscious.
And Ella you always look effortless and cool in whatever you wear. You have the knack of making a simple vest and jeans look totally chic and cool. 😎 Hope DS recovery is going well. Please pace yourself as 4 hourly duty is pretty heavy going day and night.

@cherries we’ll follow you on Pinterest, so sign up! Looking forward to learning more through your eyes. Hope DD will feel much better with your TLC this weekend.

@Huff show us your fab jacket outfit soon!

@justi you are so right! All that nonsense about women being mean to each other is mostly mysogenist bollocks. Please do post a pic of you in that kimono when you receive. I’ll do the same with the Gudrun one, I haven’t yet because it’s at home and when I received I was too busy and then with the swollen face wasn’t up to it, mine is quite long but I’m not parting with it! I love it.

Btw my chipmunk cheek has gone down, yeay! Not in pain at all. Thank goodness for amoxicillin and it does make you realise how very vital antibiotics are to human beings. Knowing bacteria is evolving I think it’s one of those urgent crises that should force governments to collaborate with science to ensure next generation antibiotics are in development. Alarmingly it’s not the case at the moment.

@soups wishing you a happy day celebrating DD’s birthday. She’s a lucky girl!

@len Grin at DH’s shed with gingham curtains!

Wishing you all a lovely chilled Bank Holiday Weekend goes to browse brand alley

SoyYo · 04/05/2019 10:57

Whoops! Sorry mixed up posters!
@never the kimono message was for you Wink
@justi the mysogenist bollocks comment (agreeing with you) and face going down for you Smile

SoyYo · 04/05/2019 11:02

Having said that female cattiness is real. Came across a blog complaining about this article in the daily Fail where Vogues Alexandra Shulman has a massive go at gorgeous ex supermodel for wearing a bustier at 50.
Totally out of order and so disappointing to read 🧐 wtf is this about other than female bitchiness?

SoyYo · 04/05/2019 11:05

face going down comment was for you. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I really must do previews before posting! Grin

SoyYo · 04/05/2019 11:41

neveradullmoment99 · 04/05/2019 11:49

So shocked when i pulled this from the box. Hush are taking the p*ss! Seriously thin. Here is a photo. Its nice but a shocking price for a scrap of material.

Hushistas getting themselves summer ready!
SoyYo · 04/05/2019 11:54

Oh @never 😳 it’s so short!

neveradullmoment99 · 04/05/2019 11:58

Its shocking for the price. Its going back. For the price tbh, i would have expected it to be more than a scrappy bit of material. It is short but that doesn't bother me so much. Its £75? seriously? No lining?
The cost of a jacket!!! I mean i managed to get £20 off but seriously? I think that is the worst hush purchase i have EVER made!

SoyYo · 04/05/2019 11:59

It’s ridiculously overpriced...I predict it’ll be in BA reduced to £35 or less by the end of the season...Hmm

neveradullmoment99 · 04/05/2019 11:59

Btw, i wouldn't wear it with leggings. Its just what i had on this morning!

neveradullmoment99 · 04/05/2019 12:01

@soyo, thinking about ordering one from next but what do i get? The 10 or the 12? [ Its the berry tropical kimono btw.

neveradullmoment99 · 04/05/2019 12:02

Sorry its the - Multi Tropical Border Print Kimono from next

SoyYo · 04/05/2019 12:03

Return and get the sun sea yellow sweat from BA sale instead. I’ve reordered it for my Norfolk beach times. I know I returned it last year but that’s because I bought at full price and for full price it has to be absolutely amazing imho.
At £22 to throw on with jeans or denim shorts at the beach this summer = perfect sweat

ilovecherries · 04/05/2019 12:03

Have you looked on one hundred stars, never? They do some beautiful fabrics. Still only made with fine viscose material (similar weight to the Hortencia shirts, maybe even slightly finer), but beautifully finished and maybe 2/3rds of Hush pricing.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 04/05/2019 12:03

10 or 12 do you think? I always think they can be cut a bit generous?

neveradullmoment99 · 04/05/2019 12:04

I will have a little look, thanks cherries.

SoyYo · 04/05/2019 12:04

The next print I actually prefer to Hush @never
I’d would size down

neveradullmoment99 · 04/05/2019 12:05

They are totally beautiful @cherries. Definitely getting one of those!! but which one!!!

neveradullmoment99 · 04/05/2019 12:06

I am IN LOVE with those ones @cherries. @soyo...OMG don't look!!

SoyYo · 04/05/2019 12:08

@never I’ve got this in the blue M from Gudrun. It’s a semi transparent chiffon fabric so not lined but the print is totally amazing and will probably relent and order in the red too.
But not as bargainous as the lovely Next one and the one and only reason I’m still hesitating is that the S is ooo and the M is rather too generous
www.gudrunsjoden.com/en-gb/clothes/dresses-tunics-kaftans/product-84089-tomato-s

If you buy the Next one go for 10. It looks fab 👍

SoyYo · 04/05/2019 12:09

Ooh I’m off for a look 🙈

SoyYo · 04/05/2019 12:11

Amazing @cherries! 😍 love love the prints!

neveradullmoment99 · 04/05/2019 12:16
