On every thread where someone posts a picture of sandals to ask for advice, theres always a chorus of 'hideous', 'granny', 'fugly' etc. So please share some photos of sandals that you think are nice, stylish, chic, non-stomach-churning, whatever. Bear in mind that many of us need sandals to be comfortable and suitable for lots of walking. I promise no snarky comments!

Elsepth I just bought those Tevas from Amazon- they came yesterday and are fab- I wouldn't wear them in the Uk because they are not my usual style but got them to wear sightseeing and walking on the beach abroad with a pair of shorts and a vet top.

LarkDescending · 04/05/2019 09:15

I spend my summers in Gabor Lanzarote. Toe-loop sandals for people who don’t do toe-post sandals Smile. They are ridiculously comfortable.

S021 · 04/05/2019 09:26

LarkDescending I thought that said you spend your summers in Lanzarote Grin Envy

LarkDescending · 04/05/2019 09:54

SO21 (great name) no I have never actually been to Lanzarote, but if I did my Gabors would be coming with me Smile

Namechangedcositstime · 04/05/2019 11:10

Thank you to everyone. I am totally loving this thread.

doctorboo · 04/05/2019 11:37

I’ve ordered a few from Office Which should be coming today. I hope to come away with at least one pair to wear this summer from this lot.

I had to return some FitFlop Neoflex black-mix last week. If they’d fit I’d have been getting a good deal at £24 (inc delivery) but struggled to get my hooves in a size 5 Blush and 6 would have been too long - I have short and wide feet.

AnotherEmma · 04/05/2019 14:55

Your votes please - yay or nay?
They feel a TINY bit tight but as they're leather I'm hoping they'll give a little 🤞
(Please excuse the chipped nail polish Blush)

Toms Black Leather Sicily Sandals (the brown leather pair looks nice too)

@AnotherEmma

They are lovely. I like the other colours too.

I can’t get my foot into Tom’s espadrilles type shoes. Are the sandals wider or suitable for wide feet? They do come in half sizes which would probably help me.

AnotherEmma · 04/05/2019 15:02

Well I do think they are on the narrow side. I'm not sure what my foot width is, maybe standard or slightly wide. The ankle strap is fine because it's adjustable, but the two crossover straps at the front feel tight. I'm going to wear them around the house for a bit and hope that the leather softens.

If you have wide feet they'll probably be too narrow sadly.

FiremanKing · 04/05/2019 15:06

Thank you.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 04/05/2019 15:08

AnotherEmma nice but too narrow imo.

AngelaKilfeather · 04/05/2019 15:14

Haven’t read the whole thread but highly recommend Teva Tirra sandals. The most comfortable sandals I have ever worn. I walk miles every day and a pair still lasted me a couple of summers before I wore through the sole. On my second pair now and like walking on air. Also love my Toms slip ons, agony for half a day as they adjust to your feet and then like comfy slippers.

ElspethFlashman · 04/05/2019 15:15

They look a smudge too narrow right now, but as you say they'll probably loosen as they're leather. Wear them round the house with socks maybe?

AnotherEmma · 04/05/2019 15:23

Thanks both.
I'm trying to decide whether I like these enough to try them... they're not as nice as the Toms (IMO) but will probably be wider.

Inspired by this thread I got these. Not sure if they are really stylish but they are comfortable and I like the colour.

AnotherEmma · 04/05/2019 15:52

Those of you with wide feet, I've discovered that Seasalt do some sandals in a wide fitting. They're not all to my taste but some are quite nice.

I love the Toms AnotherEmma

doctorboo · 04/05/2019 16:58

I’m keeping the sandals in the pic:

OFFICE: Bounty cross strap, orange nubuck, £18

They’ll do for the school run and easy walks, but I’ll need something with a buckled heel strap for proper days out where I have to chase the three year old.

Dr Boo, I've got those sandals!

RedRiverShore · 05/05/2019 09:41

Usually wear Saltwaters and find them really comfy but wanted something a bit more heavy duty, have ordered these Teva Tirras
www.millets.co.uk/womens/157678-teva-womens-tirra-leather-sandal-brown.html

Hope they fit, I am 7.5 and sized up to 8 as some reviews suggest they come up small

AnotherEmma · 05/05/2019 10:05

Oh look, another "stylish" pair of walking sandals Hmm

Peridot1 · 05/05/2019 10:08

Knew I should have hidden the thread.

Really like those Matalan ones Namechangedcositstime. I have a bag that colour and just bought a T-shirt too. So they would go with a bit. And they are only £14.

RedRiverShore · 05/05/2019 10:33

I'm hardly likely to go yomping over hills in fashion sandals am I or maybe you do, maybe you can suggest a pair of fashion sandals suitable for hill walking in the summer.

FiremanKing · 05/05/2019 10:53

This thread is for attractive but comfortable sandals for those of us with cloven hoof!

We know there are plenty of walking sandals that are comfy, but we want them to look ‘pretty’ too!

Take your clodhoppers up a mountain and begone! Grin

Me and Emma want to see the gorgeous looking ones! Wink
